Lalaloopsy littles - Spoons waffle cone doll:  $9.95 @ Toys r us (RSP:  $18.99+)

I could have gotten her last time, but I thought I was already buying too much.  I decided I wanted to buy her again when I went the next time, but she was already gone!

Luckily she was still in stock online, so I got her shipped to my house for free.  Yay!  I love her ice cream scoop hair, and her matching outfit.  She's one of the best ones so far!

Kawaii crush - Katie cat meow meow:  $3 @ Walmart (RSP:  $5.99+)

Yep, another one!  I've never seen this colour anywhere else.  Since the last one looked so good on my blythes, I decided to pick this one up too (especially since there were only two left!).

That location had tons of bunnies, so maybe I'll pick it up once my next Tellwut giftcard comes in.

Ever After High - Ashlynn Ella doll:  $2.99
Polly pocket dolls and accessories:  $1.99
Polly pocket cars:  $1.99 each

All @ Value Village

I wasn't really expecting much since I was here four days ago, but surprisingly, they had a ton of stuff I wanted!  This was what's in the polly pocket bag:

Well, there was a Sylvanian sheep too, plus another flocked dog...but I forgot to put them back in the picture after cleaning them.

This is my first Ever After High doll!  I thought I'd love them since they were supposed to be similar to Monster High dolls, but they're just not as nice.  Their faces are pretty playline, and I just don't find them that appealing.

Some of the accessories are beautiful though!  All of the shoes are great, and since they do fit Monster High dolls, I thought I'd buy her for them alone.  This one also has a pretty outfit, though not all of them do.

She's complete except for her tiara, purse, earrings and bird ring.  Too bad, I liked her ring the best!  Her hair's been let down too.  The two pack she comes in retails for $40, so this is a great deal.  She looks new!

Kawaii crush - Katie cat meow meow:  $3 @ Toys r us (RSP:  $5.99+)

I was going to wait for a sale, but since there were only two left, I didn't want to risk it.  Plus, I was in the area, and it was kind of a spur of the moment thing.

I sort of want the penguin one, but since there are so many left, I think it's safe to wait a while to see if it goes down anymore.

Nanette Lepore - Dietrich jacket:  $7 (RSP:  $478)
Lalaloopsy mini RC cruiser:  $1.40 (RSP:  $23+)

Both @ Value Village

I used my last pass for this!  It's over in a week, but I wasn't sure if I'd find anything higher value at that time.  I thought I might as well use it now rather than take a risk.  I normally only spend a couple of bucks on non sale days!

I can't believe I almost put this back.  It's somewhat snug in the bust, but it doesn't pucker or anything.  And the design is just so sophisticated and somewhat edgy!  I love the puffed shoulders and the pointed hemline.  I don't have any blazers like that!

Even though this is somewhat pricey, it doesn't feel super high end.  Still, the design more than makes up for that!  Turns out this is from their 2009 Fall collection.

I can't believe I had such a great day today!  I don't normally find so much designer stuff at the same time.  I even saw this Carven dress:

It retailed for $560!!  I knew it was expensive, but I didn't know how much it was because I hadn't heard of the brand before.  The materials were very substantial...the kind other brands rarely use.

It was maybe a size too big for me, but I suppose it could have still worked.  I just thought it was kind of ugly!  Even seeing it on the model, I still kind of think that.

It's just not really me.  Plus, I don't like dresses where you can't wear a bra!

I don't regret passing that up, strangely, even though it's a lot pricier than I thought (I was thinking around $200!) and I don't have many dresses in that price range.  But that $2000 dress still stings.  That's a huge difference!

BCBG Max Azria - Rust orange silk halter dress with bronze studs:  $12.99 @ Salvation Army (RSP:  $300+) (1 day)

This was full price, but I couldn't resist.  Silk dresses around $10 always seem worth it, plus I've always wanted a dress from this brand!

There was no tax either, so that clinched it.

The stupid thing is, it would have been half price if I went yesterday!  I just felt too lazy to go, since I rarely find anything good at this store.  Especially since my local one is so tiny!

There's no guarantee that this would have been out yesterday anyway...but if it was, I'd sure feel silly!  But at least there's no way I can know that.

Taylor - Black bubble dress with silk floral accents:  $10.50
Black purse with gold panther figure:  $4.20

Both @ Value Village

And, both 30% off because of my pass.  I wasn't sure about the dress, but once I tried it on I was smitten!  The fit is so flattering.  It looks great on.

I was super happy about the purse...I love these gold feline purses!  They just look so high end, since none of the cheap brands make purses like this anymore.

The only thing - I totally regret not buying this dress I was eyeing before.  It was a black silk dress with crystal/rhinestone floral accents.  It fit everywhere but the bust, but it looked like it could work if I took it out/lost some weight.

Well, I thought I shouldn't buy anything that doesn't fit me perfectly, so I left it there.

When I looked it up online...I found out it retailed for around $2000!!!  I was totally kicking myself when I found that out.

Ironically, I knew it was an expensive brand when I saw it because I had heard of it before...but I never bothered to look up the actual prices before that.  I thought that maybe it was in the $400 range.  Well, I have a good deal of dresses in that price range so it was no big deal.

But I don't have any $2000 dresses!  Geez, it would have been totally worth the alterations for that!

I didn't want to go back since I thought it was probably gone, and I didn't want to go for nothing.  I did leave it in a pretty noticeable place.  Plus, it would have been full price since I already used my pass!

Oh well.  Lesson learned!  Someone else can enjoy it for now.

Jessica - Silver BMW Z4 car:  $4.20 (RSP:  ~$40)
Polly pocket/groovy girl cars:  $1.40
Minnie's fashion ride scooter:  $1.40 (RSP:  $26.99 for the set)
Bag of MLP's:  $2.10
Light up walking/barking/tail wagging dog:  $1.40

All @ Value Village

What a great day!  I didn't expect to find so much awesome stuff, especially since it was pretty cleared out 4 days ago.

I'm happiest about the BMW.  It actually lights up!  I've always wanted a 1/6 scale car that did that.  I'd rather have one that lit up consistently, but this one just flashes.....while playing somewhat annoying electronic music.

I almost lost out on it.  Some guy picked it up before me, and he was looking pretty long!  Thankfully he put it back.  I would have been crushed if he didn't!

I actually saw it first!  But since he was in that area, I didn't want to be rude and cut in front of him.  Oh well, at least it worked out alright.  I did run over to pick it up once he put it down though...even though he was still near it.  I couldn't miss losing out on it again!

Surprisingly, it was made by Toys r us for a cheap looking barbie clone.  Ironically, the car is way better than most Barbie cars that were made in the last while!

For some reason, I can only find it on European Toys r us sites, so I wonder if it was only available there.  It only retailed for $25 euros, which seems really cheap considering the quality.  It does light up and make sounds after all!

I'm sure the regular crappy Barbie ones are priced nearly the same.  Alright, just checked and the cheapest one is 5 euros less...a pretty negligible difference.  Plus, the above came with a doll!  I really can't believe the difference in value here.  People over there would be crazy to choose the Barbie one instead!

Everything was cheaper because I used a 30% off pass.  This is the set the Minnie mouse scooter came from:

This is actually still in stores!  I saw it and thought it was pretty cute, but I was hoping to find one secondhand instead, so that worked out too!

The dog was a similar story!  I saw some on eBay for $8-$10, and almost bought one.  But then I thought that I didn't really need it, and I should hold out in case I found one cheap secondhand.  That sure happened fast!

I can't find the exact same one I bought, but it's exactly like the one I wanted to buy, except brown:

They do have some brown ones in that store, but the fur is different.  It looks matted and really cheap...but this one's got the same colour combination as the one I actually bought.  I like the rosette type fur much better:

The one I bought is really cute, but the construction inside feels cheap.  Some of it's made out of flimsy, throwaway plastic - like the kind used in trays found in cookie boxes!

I'd still buy the pink one if I found it for cheap enough.  It's on amazon for $5.32 with free shipping, but stupidly, I can't buy it even though the seller is in Hong Kong.  Too bad he doesn't have another store that ships to Canada!

The dog actually didn't even work at first.  I was afraid of that.  There were no batteries so I couldn't test it out.  When I tried at home, nothing happened for several minutes.

Then I don't know what happened...after I fiddled around with it some more, it finally started working!  I think I opened it's mouth repeatedly when it started working.  I was so happy.  I was thinking about how to return it just before that!

Even though this is cheaper than most electronic toys, I think it's even more entertaining!  The eyes actually light up (green!)...which is a pretty weird detail, but I like it!  It also barks and walks way faster than any of the other ones I have.  He's a pretty energetic pup!

And, this is getting really long, but the ponies!  I see G1's pretty often, but I only buy them when they're both of these things:  cheap enough, and in good enough condition.  That rarely happens!  Most are in terrible condition.

These are kind of dirty, but I knew they would clean up ok.  Plus, I wanted a big brother pony!  I didn't even have one before this, in all of my years of collecting.  I think I only saw one secondhand before this, and I didn't want to pay $4 for it.

Since this one had 2 babies and another pony in it, I thought it was worth it.  Plus, it was only around $2 for everything!

Even funnier...I saw the EXACT same big brother pony at Talize today as well!  That one was in really crappy condition though...he had pen marks all over!

I think there were 7 ponies for $4, but most were pretty bad, plus the babies weren't interesting.  I'm glad I passed because these ones were way better.

Barbie Vespa scooter:  $2
Polly pocket convertible:  $.25

I picked up both of these at another kids swap meet today.  This one was kind of disappointing compared to the other one...it was so small!  I was literally done in ten minutes.

There was only one arena, whereas the other one had two.  Plus, this one arena was about 1/4 of the size as the ones there!  I spent over an hour at the other one.

I'm just glad I didn't leave empty handed.  I was pretty happy to find both of the above, especially the super cheap Polly Pocket car!  That's practically giving it away.

If it were me, I probably wouldn't bother to price anything under $1....but of course, I'm happy I managed to get it so cheap.

The scooter was the first thing I picked up, pretty much seconds after I walked in!  I thought that made for a promising start, but I was wrong.

At least the scooter came with a few surprises.  Turns out the helmet and one of the mirrors was in the trunk!

PS Vita:  free (RSP:  $249.99)

Plus the memory card, all free with Sony Points.

I actually got this in February, but I never got around to opening it until now!  It's not as great as I thought.  It's got a lot of limitations for what I was going to use it for.  I just wish my old PSP didn't break!

Tuesday, April 22, 2014

Silver metal face necklace:  $1.37 (Highest:  $8.63)
Black multicolour belt:  $2.02 (BIN:  $5.03)
Pink/yellow doll bike:  $.20 (Highest:  $2.97)

Monster High - Dance Class Robecca boots:  $1.99
Monster High - Abbey Bominable clear blue Music Festival boots:  $2.29
Monster High - CAM Skeleton shoes x 5:  $1.99 each
Monster High - CAM Sea monster shoes:  $1.89
Monster High - Pink shoes - $.99
Ever After High -  Blondie Lockes shoes x 2:  $1.99 each

Plus $.09 each since shipping was $.99 for all of them.

All off eBay

I went a little nuts on the monster high shoes, but I couldn't help it!  Sometimes, the shoes are the best part about the doll...so I had to jump on the chance to buy them alone, and for such reasonable prices!

Especially those Ever After High shoes.  Those are amazing!  I don't like the dolls at all, so it's nice to be able to get these separately.

That's why I went nuts with the skeleton shoes!  I thought they were the coolest shoes I've ever seen, and they were the main reason I got the CAM pack in the first place.  I might have gotten more; I only bought 5 because that's all the seller had at the moment!

I just wish I got Cupid's before they were sold out.  They're so beautiful!

The actual doll is decent looking, but maybe I'm mainly swayed by her pink hair.  She's the only ever after doll I would want to buy...maybe I will if a good sale comes along.

Corgi shaped cookie cutter:  $2.18
Calico critters - Tuxedo cat triplets:  $12.99
Lalaloopsy littles - Sherri Cherades doll:  $11.45 (RSP:  $16.99 - 22.99)

All off Amazon.ca

And all free!  I saved up my swagbucks for a while and decided to use them on these.  After I saw how low Sherri went last time, I was waiting for her to go down again.  That time finally came!

The rest were just filler so I could get free shipping.  The calico critters are so expensive for what they are, but they're ridiculously cute!  That's my favourite scale too.

I was originally planning on getting the Lalaloopsy workshop mermaid/pirate two pack, but that never went on sale.  I didn't want to pay $25 for it, since it finally started showing up in stores here!

But I wanted the deal on Sherri, so I decided to get the other two things.  It was all free, so why not!

Pinkie Cooper - Pepper Parson doll:  $7.99 (RSP:  $14.99+)
Pinkie Cooper - Pinkie in London doll:  $9.99 (RSP:  $19.99+)

Both @ Winners

I was thinking about buying these online, so I'm really happy they showed up here!  Especially the London one, since that was the only one I couldn't find last time.

I wish I didn't buy them at Canadian Tire a while back, since they were $2 more there!  But then again, they were ONLY sold there at that time, and nobody knew they would end up here.

They had a basic Pinkie doll too, and I was originally planning on getting her as well.  But since the doll is exactly the same across all lines, it didn't seem worth it just for the outfit.  I mean, for $2 more, you get the dog and a higher quality outfit!

There was no choice for Pepper though.  This is the only version of her!

I do want the other doll as well, so hopefully I can find her at one of the other ones.  This basic line was never at Canadian Tire!

Seeing as how these are discontinued, I might cave and buy basic Pinkie one day too.  We'll just have to see!  Hopefully she'll go on clearance at Winners, then it'd be an easy decision!

Lalaloopsy pet pals - Wooly Fleece:  $9.45 @ Toys r Us (RSP:  $18.99+)

I thought I could resist, but I was wrong!  This was the last day of the sale, and it just kept calling to me, it was just so cute!

I really didn't want this one though.  It had a weird flaw on it...it looked like there was a crack with paint slapped on really roughly to cover it up.

I wanted to order it off the site, but it was sold out by the time I got there.  Darn!  The first one I saw had flaws as well, but which one was worse is a toss up.

Jones New York - Mint green beaded/embroidered silk halter dress:  $5 @ Talize (RSP:  $200+)

Can you believe this is all I bought on a half off day??  That's never happened before!  There just wasn't much good stuff this time, sadly.

I almost didn't buy this one (because it was somewhat wrinkled), but now I'm glad I did.  It's so flattering on!

They had another one in the exact same colour, in the exact same style sans the embroidery/beads.  They were the same price too.  It was a no-brainer!

Lalaloopsy littles - Tiny Might doll:  $9.95 (RSP:  $19.99+)
Lalaloopsy Pet Pals - Purrty kitten paws doll:  $9.45 (RSP:  $18.99+)

Both @ Toys r Us

I've been wanting both of these for so long, but I've never seen them anywhere until now!  I'm so happy that they just happened to be half price the first time they showed up.

I've never even seen the pet pals line sold at any other store, and they've been out in the US for a while!

Ditto with the littles.  I haven't seen this recent line with the new packaging anywhere else.

I'm so glad I started paying attention.  Toys r us is normally the most expensive place to buy toys...but sometimes their sales are pretty impressive.  This is even lower than they are in the US!

The funniest part was, it wasn't even advertised!  I don't know if the selection would have been as good otherwise.  Almost everything was half off, and the minis were 70% off!!  Some of them were as low as $2.66, which is insane...that's like clearance pricing!

The 8 packs were as low as $11 each, which makes them something like $1.70 each.  So crazy!  I considered buying them, but I just didn't like them that much.

Kawaii crush mini dolls:  Hannah Banana nom nom, Taylor Sailor Ship Ship, and  Becky Bubble swim swim:  $3 each @ Toys r us (RSP:  $5.99+ each)

These were a total impulse buy.  I've seen these around, but was never tempted to buy them.  Since they were half price, I decided to take a second look!

Of course, I don't really like figures that much.  I just wanted to take their stuff for my little Blythe dolls!

The monkey one was my favourite.  That baseball cap and pet monkey are adorable!  Sadly, the cap doesn't fit, but the knit hat does.

The other ones don't fit as well, but they still work.  I'm glad I bought them, especially since the nautical themed ones had a lot of great accessories.

Especially the one with the fish...I just had to have that cooler!  It even has fins!

All of their shoes fit them too.  Well, they stretch to fit.  I think it looks ok on them, but you can tell they weren't made for them.

There were a few more I was eyeing, but they don't have as many useful parts so they don't seem worth it.  Maybe I'll pick them up if they go lower.

I saw them went down to $1.80 in the states!  I would have picked them all up for that price!

Silk zodiac scarf:  $1.99
Barbie racing bike:  $1.99
Lalaloopsy plaid rain coat outfit:  $1.99

All @ Value Village

Attack of the $1.99's!  I'm surprised everything I bought was so reasonably priced today, especially that scarf.  They almost never have scarves that low!

And basically never that nice either.  I mean, I hardly ever find decent scarves at Value Village, I guess people keep on beating me to the punch.

There's no maker on this, but it looks like a dupe of this more expensive scarf:

Oh well, for $2 I can't complain (the one above is $70 used)!  It is real silk at least.

Here's what the lalaloopsy outfit looks like:

There was also a cute bear button in the bag.  It didn't come with the outfit so I don't know why it was included.

Shorties kickin' cruiser car:  $2.99 @ Value Village

I initially didn't want to buy this because I thought it was overpriced.  I normally pay $1.99 for these kind of cars!

I'm glad I came to my senses and bought it anyway, because it cleaned up great and looks awesome!

Too bad the dolls that came with it were so ugly!  You would think the scale wouldn't work, but it totally does.  There's a normal amount of leg room in that car, even though the dolls it's for don't need much.

I remember admiring this car a few months ago.  I didn't know it came from this line!  I always thought it was a bratz car.

It looks really retro and neat.  I love the heart shaped mirrors!

Arker - Icy - Bride doll:  $27.21 (RSP:  $35+)
Arker - Icy - Coser doll:  $27.21 (RSP:  $35+)

Both off of Aliexpress

I've wanted that bride for a while!  She looked gorgeous in so many pictures I've seen of her.  She didn't disappoint...except her hair was a horrible rat's nest!  It took about an hour to comb it out, but it looks wonderful now.  That was a total surprise...the hair looked completely ruined when I started!

The other one was a bit disappointing.  She's supposed to be Hatsune Miku, but the hair is all wrong!  I thought it would look ok out of the ponytails, but it just looks dumb because her hair is permanently indented like that.

At least her outfit is pretty great.  Still, now I wish I didn't buy her!  Maybe I'll reroot her with longer hair or something.

The bride smells gross like the last one, but thankfully the smell came out after a wash.  I wonder what's with these dolls?

Factory girl Blythe:  $35.38 @ Aliexpress

I love this girl!  She's even better than the other one.  Her hair colour is so pretty...it's like a mango, but more of a pale orange.

Surprisingly, her hair is great quality!  Even better than my official Blythes.

It does make the other one look worse in comparison though...her hair was nylon and looks so gross and greasy, even after a wash.  It doesn't fall in a very nice way, so I might just sell her.  I really just don't like her much after seeing this one!

The seller raised the price soon after I bought her, so I'm glad I got her when I did.  I just kind of wish I got one of the other promotional ones, since that one went up in price too!

Pink woven plastic lace box purse:  $12.99
Littlest Pet Shop Blythe - Sightseeing cute:  $1.99
Little Tykes Cinderella coach:  $1.99

All @ Value village

What a great day!  I've wanted that Blythe for a long time...she's possibly my favourite one.  I actually had a chance to buy her for relatively cheap ($6.99), and I was kicking myself for not buying her.

Well, not now, since this one's even cheaper, and she's practically complete!  She's just missing her hair bows and the other pet.  I'm surprised they had it priced so low, and even more surprised they knew to include everything with her!

There's actually a camera in there that doesn't belong to her, but it belongs to another LPS Blythe.  I wonder if someone got that one at the store before me?

Funny thing about the pumpkin coach too.  I saw it in a way overpriced Lalaloopsy auction, and they didn't mention who the maker was.  I thought it was really neat...and just a week later, I found my own!  This seems to be the prototype picture:

The purse was way more than I wanted to pay, but I thought it was just so pretty and unique.  I love pearly pink, and I thought the asian print was just gorgeous.

I found a similar one on etsy.  Well, it's basically the same one except with a different print.  They say it's from the 50's, and they're selling that one for $60!

A bunch of sellers call this a wicker purse, but I don't see how.  It's clearly plastic lace!

Alright,  upon research, wicker can also be made of plastic.  I never knew that...I always thought it referred to natural materials only.  You learn something every day!
