Barbie scooter

LPS "Totally talented" Blythe

$1.99 @ Value Village

Too lazy to take a picture.  The scooter is missing the lid at the back, and the Blythe was nude.

Blythes and Strawberry shortcake car:  $2.99 for all @ Value Village

Always exciting when I find a Blythe!  Even moreso when I find two at a time!  Even though I have triples of these now, I still want more!  This is my first complete scooter girl.

I've passed up that car so many times.  Most of them are missing those leaf rear view mirrors, so I didn't even realize they were supposed to be there! Mine is missing one.

The horn actually honks! It's more of a squeaky toy sound, but I thought that was a fun detail.

My Little Pony - Princess Celestia:  $1.99
Barbie pink glitter motor scooter:  $2.99

Both @ Value Village

I'm really not that into my little pony, but I still love thinks that move and light up!  For $2, I just couldn't resist.  I'm surprised it was that low, especially with some other figures in the bag.  Those are McDonalds and in bad condition, so I'm not keeping them.

Her wings move and light up, plus she talks.  Mine has pretty bad hair, but I think it'll be fine after I clean her up.

The scooter was just too neat!  Can't say no to clear glitter.  I'll probably take off all of the lame decals though.  I found pictures of it in box:

Too bad mine is missing the headlights.

I've seen it go for $15 used!  Mine looks new, so I'm fine with the price I paid.

Rose petal place roadster:  $1.50 @ BFM Thrift store

I love this thrift store!  Things are always reasonably priced, and they have a pretty big selection of stuff.  It's a big of  a hassle to get there though, which is why I rarely go.

I decided to make the effort today, and I'm glad I did!  It turns out they were having a customer appreciation day for their 25th anniversary.  They said it was the first time they've done this!

They gave out cake and popcorn, but I only had the cake.  It was pretty good!  I also got two free boxes of triscuits because the packaging was way dented.  That was a nice surprise!

I actually remember admiring this car a long time ago, so I'm happy it's mine for next to nothing.  I think the carved rose detail is very pretty.  Turns out it's supposed to be musical, but I can't get the battery cover off to test it!

Mine has changed colour because of sun exposure, but I think it actually looks better that way!  The original is really pink and looks very childish.  This colour looks more sophisticated! Found this picture online:

The wheels are really cheap and ugly looking though, the kind they use on preschool toys. Thankfully they're not visible until you turn it over!

Monster High - Ghoulia scooter:  $3.99 (RSP:  $19.99)

Famosa - I love Minnie picnic car:  $3.99 (RSP:  $29.99+ for the entire set)

Both @ Value Village.

A bit more than I wanted to pay for the scooter, but they were both in great condition.  Plus, I had wanted both of them, and I haven't found either before!

I had some great news today, so these were just icing on the case.  I'm so glad I found them!

They are missing a few things though.  The scooter is just missing the kickstand, and of course the accessories.

The car's even worse!  It's missing the rear mirrors, and even worse, both seats!  But those dolls are so small, none of my other dolls could fit with the seats in anyway.  Still, I would have preferred to have them.

I'll keep a lookout for a complete one in the future!  For now, this one's fine, especially compared to retail.  You can't even notice the seats aren't there when the dolls are in there anyway.

LPS Blythe and Polly pocket car:  $1.99 @ Value Village

Shockingly, it's the exact same Blythe I just found a few days ago!!  What are the chances?

One time I also found the EXACT same Blythe twice on the same day, and in the same city too!  Pretty fun when that kind of stuff happens.  I don't mind having any number of doubles when it comes to Blythes!

I also have three of these cars now.  I didn't really plan on having that many, but I thought I might as well keep it.

Ceramic cherub stand:  $3.99
Polly Pocket car:  $1.99

Both @ Value Village

The stand was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but I had a great idea for it.  I'm going to make another catch-all bowl similar to my other one.

This one's going to be pink.  I've already seen the perfect bowl at Dollarama!  It looks like a clear decorative glass, just like my other one.

I do see these kind of ceramic cherub things frequently, but they're either really overpriced, or badly sculpted.  This one was wonderfully sculpted, so I had to get it!

I was unsure about the polly car, but I got it anyway because it was in perfect condition.  I had one that was in bad condition, so I thought it was time for an upgrade!

Zara - Velvet military blazer:  $6.50 (4 days)(RSP:  $100+)
Born - Burnished leather Lewisa boots:  $10 (5 days)(RSP:  $225)

Furreal Zambi elephant:  $2 (13 days)(RSP:  $50+)
My Scene vespa:  $1 (3 days)

All @ Talize

I almost didn't go, but I'm sort of glad I did.  I always find neat stuff!

I have so many blazers, I really don't want to buy anything that's not high end.  But that Zara one had such a flattering design, I had to get it.

The boots are such wonderful quality, and they're new!  The soles only have store wear, they definitely haven't been worn outside.

They're so comfortable too!  This is a size 11, which is bigger than I normally use, but I thought it still looked ok.

I remember seeing that elephant in stores.  I think the lowest I saw it for was around $30, which I definitely wasn't going to pay.

But it was a no-brainer for $2!  I just hope it works.

Uneeda Dollikin doll:  $14.99
President's choice - dog shaped salt shakers:  $2.99
Light up/electronic cars:  $2.99 each (RSP:  $8.99 each)

All @ Value Village

I also saw this really realistic Berenguer baby that I considered buying...it was only $5!  I passed because I thought it was ugly, and I'd never do anything with it.

They had so many of these new in box cars here!  At least 15 of them.  They look kind of old, so I hope they still work.

The first two were a no brainer since they were made of metal, and quite realistic.  I think  I could put my little blythes in there.

The last one I was unsure of...I thought it was neat that it was clear, but it does verge on tacky.  There is a clown in there!  They even call it "funny car."

But that one lights up too, so I decided to get it.  I wouldn't have bought any of these if they weren't in box, but since they were...

I also saw another armani blazer, but it was too small...plus it had noticeable wear.  Most of all, it was $30!  This location always overprices stuff.

I'm happiest about the dollikin - I've wanted one for over a decade!  They go for $50+ on ebay, plus shipping is normally $20-$30.  I wish she was cheaper, but $15 seemed alright for her.  She's in amazing condition, considering she's from the 50's!

A lot of them have discolouration, but this girl's skin looks new!   I always see similar looking dolls, so I didn't recognize what she was at first...until I saw those awesome joints of hers!  I sure hope I find more.  She needs a friend!

Theory - wool blazer:  $4 (RSP:  ~$375)
Tadashi - Lilac strapless tiered mermaid dress:  $9 (RSP:  ~$498)

Polly Pocket car:  $1.99

All @ Value Village

Nothing too spectacular here.  There was this really gorgeous herve leger-esque dress that I wanted (with a mermaid train), but it was too darn small!  It was half the size it was marked, which was a letdown.

I love Tadashi, but I didn't think I could wear this dress anywhere.  When I tried it on though, it was so flattering!  Really accents your curves.

Plus, I love the colour, so I ended up buying it.  I do wish it were cheaper though, since it does have a lot of dirty areas.  I think it'll be an easy wash, otherwise I probably would have left it.

I've heard a lot about Theory, but it didn't seem that impressive to me.  This is the first reasonably priced one (that looked new) I've seen in my size, so I decided to pick it up.

Thierry Mugler Couture pantsuit:  $5

Polly pocket car:  $1.99
Licca and Littlest pet shop dolls:  $1.99
Intricate cherub frame:  $2.99

All @ Value Village

Oh man, was this a good deal!  And to think, I almost stayed at home.  That would have been a mistake.

Thierry Mugler is one of my favourite designers, and it was always a dream of mine to find something of his.  I nearly jumped for joy when I saw this:

I found it minutes after entering the store!  So happy it was there for me.  I did find this blazer before, but since it wasn't really made by him (made in China, for cosmetic reps) it wasn't really the same.

Of course I'm always happy when I find LPS Blythes, so that was good too.  And Liccas, which are even rarer!  Someone had put her randomly in the collectibles section, so I'm glad I was sharp enough to spot her.

That frame is gorgeous too!  Normally they're not sculpted very well, nor are they as interesting as this one, so $3 was a steal.  I think I might spraypaint it gold, and it would look much nicer as a mirror rather than a frame.

Overall, such a great day!

Sailor Moon - Crystal star locket:  $1.99
Scooby Doo Ghost Patrol vehicle:  $2.99 (RSP:  $25)

Both @ Value Village.

This place had so many toys!  There were a bunch of cars I was interested in, but since I already had so much stuff to carry, I decided they weren't worth it.

I left behind a full sized My Little Pony car...I did like it, but it had a lot of wear.  I'm holding out for one in near mint condition...or at least until a time where I have a car!

Also left behind a Lalaloopsy RC car and a Polly pocket car.  I just didn't want to tire myself out, so at this point, I had to think about whether it was worth adding to my already massive burden.

Of course, this was a no-brainer:

There was never a North American version, so this is pretty rare!  It was actually only released once...well, there is a second version that looks completely different.  So happy.  I usually find about one Sailor moon role playing toy a year, but I'd be open to finding more!

It still lights up, but it doesn't make any sounds.  I'm not sure if it just needs new batteries...but I opened it up, and it's some crazy size I've never seen before!  I don't even know if they still sell that size, but we'll see.

The Scooby doo van was just neat and cheap, so I bought it.  Though I don't have anything that can fit into it at the moment!

Pink doll bike:  $1.99
My little pony - Twilight sparkle's RC car:  $1.99 (RSP:  $24.99+)

Both @ Value Village

I picked up the mlp car first...mainly because of this awesome hood ornament:

How cool is that?  I don't know if I would have picked it up otherwise.  It does look unused, which is great.  No controller, but I think my other ones should work with it.

The bike is really neat too.  I wonder who made it.  It's really realistic with the metal accents, so I'm happy I snagged it.  It's my best looking bike so far!

Bag of toys:  $.99
Vintage made in Italy lucite purse:  $5.99

Both @ Value Village.

It's been a long while!  I missed thrifting.  I'd like to go more regularly, but it does feel like a waste of gas when I don't buy anything.  Then when I do buy something, a lot of the times it's overpriced!

Anyway, I was happy with what I found today.  A LPS Blythe was in there...finally!  I haven't found one in ages.

It also came with this neat car.  It turns out it's the Itsy Bitsy Bratz Kool Kat Cruiser:

Even though I've never liked any of the dolls, Bratz always had such neat vehicles!  I wish this one had doors that could open, but at least it looks great.  The trunk does open, and it has all of these cute cat related details!  Paw shaped rear mirrors, and a fish air freshener.

Though...why would a cat drive a car?  Especially one like the above, which doesn't seem to have any limbs.

I always buy any lucite purse I find.  This was a reasonable price to pay, so I'm happy about it.  The colour is gorgeous!

I was going to buy a snakeskin bag for $6.99, but I passed.  Even though it looked unused, it did have some storage wear.

I just thought it was too much to pay for something I would cut up.  I do have some skins in that colour already!  It was kind of an orange colour, really common in vintage skins.

Ever After High - Ashlynn Ella doll:  $2.99
Polly pocket dolls and accessories:  $1.99
Polly pocket cars:  $1.99 each

All @ Value Village

I wasn't really expecting much since I was here four days ago, but surprisingly, they had a ton of stuff I wanted!  This was what's in the polly pocket bag:

Well, there was a Sylvanian sheep too, plus another flocked dog...but I forgot to put them back in the picture after cleaning them.

This is my first Ever After High doll!  I thought I'd love them since they were supposed to be similar to Monster High dolls, but they're just not as nice.  Their faces are pretty playline, and I just don't find them that appealing.

Some of the accessories are beautiful though!  All of the shoes are great, and since they do fit Monster High dolls, I thought I'd buy her for them alone.  This one also has a pretty outfit, though not all of them do.

She's complete except for her tiara, purse, earrings and bird ring.  Too bad, I liked her ring the best!  Her hair's been let down too.  The two pack she comes in retails for $40, so this is a great deal.  She looks new!

Nanette Lepore - Dietrich jacket:  $7 (RSP:  $478)
Lalaloopsy mini RC cruiser:  $1.40 (RSP:  $23+)

Both @ Value Village

I used my last pass for this!  It's over in a week, but I wasn't sure if I'd find anything higher value at that time.  I thought I might as well use it now rather than take a risk.  I normally only spend a couple of bucks on non sale days!

I can't believe I almost put this back.  It's somewhat snug in the bust, but it doesn't pucker or anything.  And the design is just so sophisticated and somewhat edgy!  I love the puffed shoulders and the pointed hemline.  I don't have any blazers like that!

Even though this is somewhat pricey, it doesn't feel super high end.  Still, the design more than makes up for that!  Turns out this is from their 2009 Fall collection.

I can't believe I had such a great day today!  I don't normally find so much designer stuff at the same time.  I even saw this Carven dress:

It retailed for $560!!  I knew it was expensive, but I didn't know how much it was because I hadn't heard of the brand before.  The materials were very substantial...the kind other brands rarely use.

It was maybe a size too big for me, but I suppose it could have still worked.  I just thought it was kind of ugly!  Even seeing it on the model, I still kind of think that.

It's just not really me.  Plus, I don't like dresses where you can't wear a bra!

I don't regret passing that up, strangely, even though it's a lot pricier than I thought (I was thinking around $200!) and I don't have many dresses in that price range.  But that $2000 dress still stings.  That's a huge difference!

Jessica - Silver BMW Z4 car:  $4.20 (RSP:  ~$40)
Polly pocket/groovy girl cars:  $1.40
Minnie's fashion ride scooter:  $1.40 (RSP:  $26.99 for the set)
Bag of MLP's:  $2.10
Light up walking/barking/tail wagging dog:  $1.40

All @ Value Village

What a great day!  I didn't expect to find so much awesome stuff, especially since it was pretty cleared out 4 days ago.

I'm happiest about the BMW.  It actually lights up!  I've always wanted a 1/6 scale car that did that.  I'd rather have one that lit up consistently, but this one just flashes.....while playing somewhat annoying electronic music.

I almost lost out on it.  Some guy picked it up before me, and he was looking pretty long!  Thankfully he put it back.  I would have been crushed if he didn't!

I actually saw it first!  But since he was in that area, I didn't want to be rude and cut in front of him.  Oh well, at least it worked out alright.  I did run over to pick it up once he put it down though...even though he was still near it.  I couldn't miss losing out on it again!

Surprisingly, it was made by Toys r us for a cheap looking barbie clone.  Ironically, the car is way better than most Barbie cars that were made in the last while!

For some reason, I can only find it on European Toys r us sites, so I wonder if it was only available there.  It only retailed for $25 euros, which seems really cheap considering the quality.  It does light up and make sounds after all!

I'm sure the regular crappy Barbie ones are priced nearly the same.  Alright, just checked and the cheapest one is 5 euros less...a pretty negligible difference.  Plus, the above came with a doll!  I really can't believe the difference in value here.  People over there would be crazy to choose the Barbie one instead!

Everything was cheaper because I used a 30% off pass.  This is the set the Minnie mouse scooter came from:

This is actually still in stores!  I saw it and thought it was pretty cute, but I was hoping to find one secondhand instead, so that worked out too!

The dog was a similar story!  I saw some on eBay for $8-$10, and almost bought one.  But then I thought that I didn't really need it, and I should hold out in case I found one cheap secondhand.  That sure happened fast!

I can't find the exact same one I bought, but it's exactly like the one I wanted to buy, except brown:

They do have some brown ones in that store, but the fur is different.  It looks matted and really cheap...but this one's got the same colour combination as the one I actually bought.  I like the rosette type fur much better:

The one I bought is really cute, but the construction inside feels cheap.  Some of it's made out of flimsy, throwaway plastic - like the kind used in trays found in cookie boxes!

I'd still buy the pink one if I found it for cheap enough.  It's on amazon for $5.32 with free shipping, but stupidly, I can't buy it even though the seller is in Hong Kong.  Too bad he doesn't have another store that ships to Canada!

The dog actually didn't even work at first.  I was afraid of that.  There were no batteries so I couldn't test it out.  When I tried at home, nothing happened for several minutes.

Then I don't know what happened...after I fiddled around with it some more, it finally started working!  I think I opened it's mouth repeatedly when it started working.  I was so happy.  I was thinking about how to return it just before that!

Even though this is cheaper than most electronic toys, I think it's even more entertaining!  The eyes actually light up (green!)...which is a pretty weird detail, but I like it!  It also barks and walks way faster than any of the other ones I have.  He's a pretty energetic pup!

And, this is getting really long, but the ponies!  I see G1's pretty often, but I only buy them when they're both of these things:  cheap enough, and in good enough condition.  That rarely happens!  Most are in terrible condition.

These are kind of dirty, but I knew they would clean up ok.  Plus, I wanted a big brother pony!  I didn't even have one before this, in all of my years of collecting.  I think I only saw one secondhand before this, and I didn't want to pay $4 for it.

Since this one had 2 babies and another pony in it, I thought it was worth it.  Plus, it was only around $2 for everything!

Even funnier...I saw the EXACT same big brother pony at Talize today as well!  That one was in really crappy condition though...he had pen marks all over!

I think there were 7 ponies for $4, but most were pretty bad, plus the babies weren't interesting.  I'm glad I passed because these ones were way better.

Barbie Vespa scooter:  $2
Polly pocket convertible:  $.25

I picked up both of these at another kids swap meet today.  This one was kind of disappointing compared to the other one...it was so small!  I was literally done in ten minutes.

There was only one arena, whereas the other one had two.  Plus, this one arena was about 1/4 of the size as the ones there!  I spent over an hour at the other one.

I'm just glad I didn't leave empty handed.  I was pretty happy to find both of the above, especially the super cheap Polly Pocket car!  That's practically giving it away.

If it were me, I probably wouldn't bother to price anything under $1....but of course, I'm happy I managed to get it so cheap.

The scooter was the first thing I picked up, pretty much seconds after I walked in!  I thought that made for a promising start, but I was wrong.

At least the scooter came with a few surprises.  Turns out the helmet and one of the mirrors was in the trunk!

Silk zodiac scarf:  $1.99
Barbie racing bike:  $1.99
Lalaloopsy plaid rain coat outfit:  $1.99

All @ Value Village

Attack of the $1.99's!  I'm surprised everything I bought was so reasonably priced today, especially that scarf.  They almost never have scarves that low!

And basically never that nice either.  I mean, I hardly ever find decent scarves at Value Village, I guess people keep on beating me to the punch.

There's no maker on this, but it looks like a dupe of this more expensive scarf:

Oh well, for $2 I can't complain (the one above is $70 used)!  It is real silk at least.

Here's what the lalaloopsy outfit looks like:

There was also a cute bear button in the bag.  It didn't come with the outfit so I don't know why it was included.

Shorties kickin' cruiser car:  $2.99 @ Value Village

I initially didn't want to buy this because I thought it was overpriced.  I normally pay $1.99 for these kind of cars!

I'm glad I came to my senses and bought it anyway, because it cleaned up great and looks awesome!

Too bad the dolls that came with it were so ugly!  You would think the scale wouldn't work, but it totally does.  There's a normal amount of leg room in that car, even though the dolls it's for don't need much.

I remember admiring this car a few months ago.  I didn't know it came from this line!  I always thought it was a bratz car.

It looks really retro and neat.  I love the heart shaped mirrors!
