Another brandsampler.  They just seem to be getting better and better!  That febreeze set retails for $4+

Gold/rhinestone snake bracelet:  $2.26 (Highest:  $3.26)
Burnished gold/black snake bracelet:  $2.26 (Highest:  $4.25)
Black/gold/rhinestone snake bracelet:  $2.26 (Highest:  $3.25)
Orange/white/gold snake bracelet:  $1.78 (Highest:  $9.50)
Huge silver flower bracelet:  $2.26 (Highest:  $8)

All off eBay.

I kind of went overboard, but I find snake jewelry so neat.  I especially like the black one which looks like a standard bracelet from far away.  The first three were actually second chance offers from the same seller.

The silver flower one was a total surprise!  It's gorgeous in person, and way bigger than expected.

Moschino cheap and chic - Wool blazer w/gold buttons (SP:  $4.99) (RSP:  $1000+!)
Brown wool blazer w/gold buttons (SP:  $6.99)
Urban Behavior - Short sleeve blazer w/mesh panel (SP:  $8.99)

Wool tweed skirt (SP:  $4.99)
Icinoo - Brown frilly shirt (SP:  $3.99)

$1 each @ Kim's Village

Also:  2 Jem dolls (Jetta and Stormer):  $1 @ Value Village

I actually came to check out MCC's half off sale.  Funnily enough, I didn't buy anything there...but I did buy things from the surrounding stores!

After coming two weeks in a row for the possibility of a $1 sale and being disappointed, I wasn't even thinking about it today.  I was so happy when I saw their sign!

The first thing I found was the blazer.  I thought the buttons were cool, and then I noticed the designer.  I can't believe something that retailed for over a grand would have "cheap" incorporated in its name.

The second thing I found was the brown blazer.  It's really thick wool and amazing quality, but no tags anywhere.  I thought, why not for the quality and the price.  Plus, I don't have anything like it, surprisingly enough.

The Urban Behaviour blazer looked great on the rack, but not so great on.  I was thinking about putting it back, but for a dollar, I thought I could work with it somehow.

The skirt was an afterthought.  I don't have a skirt exactly like this and it's great quality.  The brown shirt is just average quality, but I really liked the design.

Then the Jem dolls - I was so surprised these were marked so reasonably!  When I got to the till, it ended up being half price to boot - I don't think I've ever gotten dolls for this cheap there!

I hesitated for a while since I don't really collect these dolls anymore, but I've never found these ones before so I thought they were rare.  If I knew they'd be this cheap from the start, I wouldn't have hesitated at all!

Rhinestone flower necklace/earring set:  $3.06 (Highest:  $10.07)
Gold leaf collar necklace:  $1.29 (Highest:  $2.50)
Gold/white bracelet:  $1.55
Gold/black clover bracelet:  $1.04 (Highest:  $2.25)

All off eBay.

Pretty happy with this lot, especially the gold/white bracelet.  It's simple, but looks great.  The quality is better than expected.

The first necklace looks way worse in person though.  It was actually a second chance offer.  I really didn't think it would come, since a lot of my recent SCO's ended up being scams.

I was surprised they offered it to me for so low.  That necklace normally goes for $7-$10 on auction!

I'm really happy with the bracelets.  The buckle one in particular is gorgeous!

Mcdonald's Madame Alexander Wizard of Oz dolls - Scarecrow and Cowardly lion - $1.99 for both @ Value Village

I saw these two days ago, but didn't pick them up.  I was going to, but then I put them down to try a coat on...by the time I remembered I was almost out the door, so I didn't feel like going back for them.

Big mistake!  I started looking at pictures on flickr and realized how much I wanted them.  I have seen these happy meal toys around a lot, but this is the first time I've seen them new in package...and I really don't want to be buying used happy meal toys.

They're cheap enough new, it just doesn't feel like it's worth it to buy them for only a little bit less used.  That's my warped rationalization anyway.

Funnily enough, I saw a bag of four of these dolls earlier that day!  It had both of the ones above, plus Dorothy and the Wicked Witch.  I thought the witch was cute, but the one I really wanted was the lion.  But like I said, it wasn't appealing for me to buy them used.

I love sleepy eyed dolls, but I don't like most of the Madame Alexander dolls from Mcdonald's because most of them have molded clothing.  I hate that!  And molded hair.  That's even worse!  That really moves them more into action figure territory.  I like my dolls skin coloured with removable clothing, thank you very much.

Despite that, there are some other McD dolls I want, if I manage to find them new in package along the way.

Tin man.  Of course!  He's the one I want the most, I might possibly buy him used if it comes to that:

Hombre de hojalata♥

Lollipop munchkin.  He's almost all molded which I hate, but I like his hair and his all black eyes:

Lollipop Munchkin

Wicked Witch.  I don't like any of the girls except her.  I just don't find the girl mold very appealing:

Madame Alexander McDonalds toy

Wolf (from Little Red riding hood).  I'm a sucker for anthropomorphic dolls.  I actually saw a loose one today for $2, but I wasn't having that:

Grandma! What Big Eyes You Have!!

Flying monkeys.  They're anthopomorphic AND winged!

Flying Monkeys!!

Lastly, I'd buy the other version of the cowardly lion:

Creepy Doll, Awake

He's cute enough to have two of!  This one's wearing a dress and a cape, whereas mine is just in a pant suit...with shoes.  The above version makes more sense (sans the cape).

Wide brown lace up lace belt:  $2.25 (Highest:  $4.25)
Embossed gold collar w/rhinestones:  $2.25 (Highest:  $5.76)
Red tear drop necklace:  $1.06
Brown rosette belt:  $2.06
Rhinestone belt bracelet:  $1.50 (Highest:  $6)

All off eBay.

I really love the first belt, but I'm pretty meh about everything else.  Things are definitely winding down, I think I've won most of what I wanted on ebay at this point.

Praga leather - Navy blue stiletto boots:  $3
Amalfi - Dark green leather booties:  $3
Grey leather clutch w/gold leaf hardware:  $1.50

All @ Salvation Army.

I'm really glad I came to this one!  It's pretty small, so I didn't think there would be anything good left.

Well, curiosity got the best of me and I went anyway.

I saw so many shoes that might actually fit me this time!  That's a major feat, I normally only see one or two shoes that are low and my size, and hardly any are decently priced.  This time I probably tried on 20 pairs!

Having such an abundance of leather low heeled beauties, I had to be judicial.  I'm proud of myself!  I left a lot behind.

So many of them seemed comfortable at first, but weren't after walking around for a while.  Others just didn't feel nice on, even though they were really nice leather on the outside.  In the end, only the two above made the cut.

I don't normally look at boots since I can always find them cheaper new.  This pair caught my eye...I really liked the design.

Then, the price did the same!  It was $6 regular, which is a lot lower than normal.  Their prices are normally ridiculously high, around $10-$25, $15 average, so I rarely bother to check.

I don't see a size on them, so I don't know how they figured they were 9.5.  They looked so tiny!  I didn't really think they would fit, but they did.  I am an 8.5...and they fit kind of snug.  But since the leather was so supple, it was still comfortable.

Moreover, the heels are crazy padded!  There are these huge pockets of air down there so these are really comfortable.  They were unbelievably sexy on so I just had to buy them.  I really like the lace up detailing on the sides, plus they look new (if you don't look at the soles)!

The other pair were a neat design and pretty cushioned on the inside.  I really like them, I don't see shoes like this often.

From now on I'm going to have to go for looks AND comfort, I have way too many pretty yet uncomfortable shoes now.

Which is why I left these behind:

The leather they used was nice, but it wasn't very comfortable...even though the heels weren't that high.  These are modern boots too, I prefer the quality of vintage if I'm buying used!  They were only $5 though.

I like the look of the clutch, but it really doesn't feel like leather!  It is most definitely leather, but I guess it's not high quality.  I really should have left it behind, but I thought the design and price were great.

But really, what's the point of having leather that feels like pleather?

Carlson type souvenir doll:  $2.99 @ Value Village

This was really bizarre!  Just yesterday I was admiring these type of dolls on etsy...I love their big eyes!  I think they're so cute.  All of them were about $10-$20 plus shipping, which really wasn't worth it.  They don't really have a resale value.

Low and behold, I found one today!  I was literally dumbfounded for a few seconds when I saw her.  I couldn't believe I found one so fast!  I've never seen them before, but maybe I just never looked hard enough.  I almost missed her today!

She's got a baby on her back, which is odd since she's a child:

It's more than I wanted to pay, so I hesitated a little.  But I snapped right out of it since I probably won't be able to get her cheaper, and because it was so strange that I found her in the first place!

At least she's pretty much like new and even comes complete with her stand.  None of the ones I looked at did, so that makes me feel better about the price.

Also, her clothes are made out of leather!  She's a nice quality doll.

There were a ton of them made under different companies (they all used mass produced Hong Kong dolls), and a lot of them have adorable costumes...like these ones:

I don't like the one mine's wearing so I might redress her.  From now on, I won't buy anymore unless I like the outfit...or they're just cheap enough.  I really want a light skinned one like the last one!

When I travel around, I'll definitely buy souvenir dolls if they're this cute!

Tan leather box purse:  $2.50
UK2LA - Black ruffled shrug jacket:  $2
Brown gold frame purse:  $2
Coppercraft guild - Framed cameo wall portraits:  $2.50 each

All @ Salvation Army.

It was half off day today - those don't come around often enough!  I normally try to be there by opening, but this time I couldn't get there until 4 hours in.  I'm glad I still managed to find things I wanted.

The box purse is gorgeous!  I couldn't pick it up fast enough.  It's quite roomy and the leather is very nice.

I've wanted the shrug for a long time, but wasn't willing to pay full price.  I think it went down to $5 brand new (it is a Sirens/Urban Planet brand), but I still didn't think it was worth it.  I'm so glad I finally got it for the price I wanted to pay!

The purse....it took me so long to decide.  I ended up putting back a camel hair blazer, and I should have put this one back too!  The material isn't nice, but I liked the gold frame and the little insignia in the front.

It was only $2, but I feel like I don't like it that much.  It probably won't get much use.

The framed cameos on the other hand, are gorgeous!  I don't know how to incorporate them without making everything look busy, but I'm glad I got them.  They were totally washed out in the above picture, but here's a clear picture of them:

I love the one on the left, but I didn't care too much for the other one.  Still, I had to have the pair!

I actually saw BOTH of these at Value Village before.  I think they were $5.99 each.  I'm glad I didn't buy them then, I just didn't want to spend that much at the time.

Beige rosette belt (2):  $1.26 / $1.61
Red rosette belt:  $1.50

All off eBay.

I was so excited about the very first necklace, but it came to me broken in half....

Other than that, it just wasn't as good as expected.  Wasn't as big, the colour wasn't as nice...I'm really hoping the seller will refund me.  I've never had a necklace come THAT damaged before!

Update:  The seller is refunding me.  That was so fast!  I'm just going to glue it back together and wear it anyway.

The owl bracelet was disappointing as well.  It's the colour I really wanted so I paid more than usual for it, but it came to me with a bunch of black stains!

They're on the left eye and the left side of the face.  It's really noticeable in person, and I can't get it off.

I asked for a partial refund, but I'd really rather have a new one in perfect condition...the eye isn't place right either!  It's glued to the side, but it's stuck on so hard I can't move it.

Update:  The seller refunded me half my payment.  I'm satisfied with that.

Other than that, I wish I didn't pay so much for the spike bracelet.  It's only plastic, plus all of the other ones were only $1!

At least I REALLY like that leaf collar necklace.  It's so gorgeous in person, and I got it for dirt cheap.  Score!

Bruno Magli - Peep toe bow heels:  $2.75 @ Union Gospel Thrift Store
Lady-Mate - Aki ballerina music box:  $2.99 @ Value Village

I was hoping for another $1 sale again, but was disappointed like last time.  Not too disappointed though, since I always enjoy browsing the other thrift stores.

I'm not too fond of the jewelry box on the outside, but I was totally smitten with its innards!  I just love how the ballerina twirls and how the pattern actually swirls on her dance floor...I thought that was worth the three bucks alone.  Here it is in action:

It did take me a while to decide, but in the end I bought it.  I was really surprised it was priced so reasonably!  I definitely wouldn't have paid any  more than that.

I really shouldn't have bought those shoes.  I like the way they look, and they're designer, but they're just not comfortable.  I need to learn to resist the allure of cheap designer shoes!

Hollow gold bow tie collar necklace:  $2.66 (BIN:  $8.99)

Silver rectangular fall necklace:  $1.76 (Highest:  $4.02)
Gold collar necklace:  $1.50 (Highest:  $3.94)

All off eBay.

I love the first two!  I've been trying to win the bird one for a long time.  I'm glad I managed to get one for this cheap, I was willing to pay twice that much not too long ago!

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Brown riveted belt:  $2.24
Red riveted belt:  $2.24
Huge gold plated white fang necklace:  $1.76 (Highest:  $5.02)
Huge gold plated black fang necklace:  $2.06 (Highest:  $3.80)

Gold plated black lucite stone necklace:  $2.25 (Highest:  $7)
Gold plated black/gold collar:  $2.26 (Highest:  $7.50)

Hollow gold plated tiered necklace:  $2.25 (Highest:  $12.50)
Gold plated owl bracelet:  $2.56 (BIN: $8.80)
Multilayer gold leaf necklace:  $1.66 (BIN)

All off eBay.

I got all of this stuff in one day!  It felt like Christmas.

The owl bracelet is better than expected.  I thought it might be too big, but luckily it's not completely round.  It's curved for a better fit.

Gold framed brown leather turnlock purse:  $5.99 @ Value Village

Arghhh, full price again.  I hate paying full price here, knowing it would be much cheaper at a real thrift store.

Plus, this purse did have some creases...if it were in immaculate condition I probably would have bought it without much thought.  I love shiny gold accents and turnlock closures - this has both!

Even though it's simple, I haven't seen this kind of design before.  I really like it, it looks so elegant.  It's also leather so that clinched it.

I don't like how short the straps are though, so I'm going to be switching them out for chains.  It is neat that there are two of them though.

I found a Euro in one of the purses.  It has the Vitruvian man on it...prettiest currency I've ever seen.  It looked more like a work of art than money!

Forever 21 - Gold tiered tassel necklace:  $1.29 (RSP:  $11.80)
Bronze armor ring:  $1.16 (Highest:  $4.60)
Wide pearl/rhinestone bracelet:  $1.75 $1.25 (BIN:  $5.29)
Silver multi-leaf necklace:  $2.56 (BIN:  $5.99)
Faceted turquoise stone necklace:  $1.04

All off eBay.

The pearl bracelet was an impulse buy that I regretted soon after winning...but I loved it in person!  It's just too bad one of the pearls is missing (Update: the seller refunded me $.50).

I was really surprised that the first necklace ended up being Forever 21.  It even came with all of the proper tags attached!  I thought it was just factory runoff.  No way I would ever have gotten it this cheap in store!

Bag of 10 vintage dolls:  $5.99
Ruched eelskin purse:  $12.99

Both @ Value Village.

Argh, I don't know why I go to Value Village on non-sale days!  Their pricing is just ludicrous.

I actually came to the area because I was hoping a $1 sale was going on at Kim's Village, but it was only half off.  It's small and cramped so I don't really like going there just to browse, but I didn't want the trip to be a complete waste.

The bag was in excellent condition, otherwise I'd be really loathe to buy it!  I still thought it was ridiculous, but I just really loved that purse.  I've seen a ton of eelskin purses now, but I'm such a sucker for ruching...and it's navy, which isn't a colour I have a lot of.

I thought I might return it if I changed my mind, but it's way too pretty not to keep!  It looks great on too.

I wasn't sure about the dolls either, but decided to get them anyway.  I knew they had no resale value, but I've never seen dolls this old before....and this cheap, considering it's Value Village!

I'm glad I bought it.  I've always been curious about celluloid dolls, and I think there are at least 4 of them in this bag.  The flimsy ones are so precious, I love them!  There's also a bisque baby in there but I find that one pretty ugly.

The one with feathers swayed me the most.  I like the look and feel of old things so I'm happy with what I got in this lot.  There's such a difference between them and the things produced now, it's nice to have a bit of nostalgia.

Their little molded hair and sleep eyes are so sweet, plus a lot of them are smaller dolls, which I prefer.  Some of them are at least 80 years old!

Silver snakeskin purse (RP:  $1.99)
Jacques Vert - Turquoise leather purse (RP:  $2.99)
In Bloom - Red plaid heels w/red sole (RP:  $5.99)

Jessica - Long black military blazer w/gold buttons (RP:  $6.99)

$13 for everything @ Salvation Army.

I used two BOGO coupons to get these.  It took an insanely long time to find things, they're really marking things up these days!

Both of the purses are pretty marked up, but I really liked the colours and styles.  Plus, they were basically free, so why not.  I probably would have left them behind if the shoes were just $1 less though.

Jacques Vert leather is so sumptuous, it's hard to leave behind!  Definitely wouldn't have been willing to pay more considering the condition.  I think I might stud it to hide the flaws.

The silver snakeskin purse had an ugly nylon cord, which I cut off and plan to replace with a chain.

I really don't like the shape of the purse...I don't know why...I don't think purses that are longer lengthwise than widthwise are aesthetically pleasing.  But I just can't say no to gold or silver leather!

Friday, September 7, 2012

Gold plated snake necklace:  $2.06 (Highest:  $6.50)
Gold plated ridged necklace:  $2.04 (Highest:  $4)
Etched gold collar necklace:  $2.06
Gold floral etched bracelet:  $2.24 (BIN:  $4.95)

All off eBay.

I'm pretty happy with all of the necklaces (especially the snake one), but I wish I didn't buy the cuff.  I managed to find the same thing locally for half the price!

Plus this one is bizarrely huge..I can't even wear it properly!  I actually stretched it out and can sort of wear it as a collar now.

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Yellow flower pearl bracelet:  $1.04
Turquoise flower pearl bracelet:  $.99
Pink flower pearl bracelet:  $.99
Leopard minidress:  $4.56
Gold spike ring:  $.99

All off eBay.

I probably shouldn't have bought any of this...I'm really going to have to limit my impulse spending!

I do think the spike ring is pretty neat still..

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Gold plated jewel encrusted elephant cuff:  $2.56 (Highest:  $4+)

Floral rhinestone/pearl encrusted ring:  $1.69 (BIN)

Silver bar necklace:  $1.67 (Highest:  $3.20)

All off eBay.

I'm really happy with the first two, especially the elephant cuff!  The pictures are of me wearing them.

Even though I don't normally like hinged cuffs because they tend to move around too much, this one isn't too bad since it's a smaller fit.  Plus, it's gorgeous!  I love elephants.

I'd love to have more animal cuffs like this...I'm looking to see what else the have!

Nina K. - Fitted corduroy blazer w/flowing collar:  $7.99 @ Value Village

I really hate paying full price at Value Village, which is why I try not to go on non-sale days.

The Etienne Aiger purse I bought a while back ended up getting ruined by the Givenchy purse....I tried cleaning it but it wouldn't come off.  I knew I would have no use for it (I didn't like it and I couldn't sell it like that) so I decided to exchange it.

Today was the last day for that..I'm so last minute!  Shockingly, the first VV didn't have anything I wanted.  I normally always walk away with something there!

An hour and a half before closing, and half way home, I decided I might as well check out another one.  I'm glad I did!

This blazer is really gorgeous and worth the price.  It's so fitted, and the style is unique.  If it were any pricier, I probably would have left it behind..I do have a limit!  I've gotten great quality blazers like this for around $6, so I don't think I would have paid more than $10.

Turns out that designer has a ton of awesome stuff!  I'm in love with this blazer:

This one's pretty great too:

Here's hoping I find something similar locally!  No way I'd pay eBay prices plus shipping for used clothing.

But I did photograph the other awesome stuff I encountered:

Maybe if they're still around on half price day I'll pick them up!

Saturday, September 1, 2012

Wide red belt:  $1.57 (BIN:  $3.16)

Floral wire shirt collar necklace:  $1.45 (Highest: $6)

Both off eBay.

Pretty satisfied with both, especially for the price I paid!

I'd love to get that belt in silver and white...there were 10 colours total.  A lot of them looked great!
