Uniform by John Paul Richard - Raspberry lamb leather jacket:  $9.99 @ Value Village

I wasn't sure about the colour, but it looked great on!  It's a really soft lamb leather too, so that clinched it.

I almost didn't come today.  For some reason, they didn't even send out an e-mail about the sale!  I found out about it just before going to bed, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to go on short notice.

Well, I've never regretted it before, so I didn't think I would this time either.  It almost always works out like that!

Point Zero - Down blend jacket:  $11 (RSP:  $149.99 - ~$250)

Hue - Winter print sweater tights:  $1 (RSP:  $12.99 - $20)
Fur trim leather gloves:  $3 (RSP:  $39.99 - $72)
Elleven k - Cat face purse:  $1 (RSP:  $12.99 - $25+)
Memoi - Cashmere blend socks:  $.70 (RSP:  $9.99 - $30)

Dex - Blush pink skater dress:  $3 (RSP:  $29.99 - $50+)
Magicsuit by Miraclesuit - Fuchsia ruffle halter swim top:  $3 (RSP:  $39.99 - ~$118)

All @ Winners

Surprisingly, I got all of this stuff only an hour after the last time!  I really didn't expect them to mark things down so fast, but they did it twice in that time!  I'm so glad I decided to look again.

I was really excited about those gloves.  I've been eyeing them since they were $10!  I didn't want to pay that much, even though they were always in perfect condition.  These ones are ripped near the fur, but it's an easy fix.

$10 seemed more like regular price, especially considering that the fur isn't real.  It just didn't seem like much of a deal.

I was pretty happy about that dress too.  I loved the colour, but it was $9 when I first came.  I thought it'd go down to $5, so $3 was a nice surprise!

Ditto on the jacket.  I actually didn't even see it the first time around, but even if I had, I don't think I would have been tempted to pay $16 for it.

$11 was a steal!  Especially considering that it's filled with feathers.  The other puffer I have is just filled with polyfill.   If I knew it was this good, I might have been tempted to pay the $16, so luckily I didn't see it until then.

Moschino jeans - Jean jacket/blazer:  $7.50 (RSP:  $500+)
Tadashi Shoji - Blue satin and beaded lace sheath dress:  $7.50 (RSP:  $422)

www.39c.com.cn - NWT Silk scarf print dress:  $7.50
Suzy Shier - Bird print dress:  $2.50

All @ Value Village.

I'm not sure how much the Moschino jeans line cost, I can't figure that out anywhere.  But I did see unlined jean jackets on their website for $200, so I think this one had to have retailed for nearer to a thousand...the quality is so nice!

Which is why I had to pick it up, even though it doesn't currently fit me.  I'll wait it out a bit and see if I lose the weight, otherwise I have a friend who could use it.

I find so much Moschino, but a lot of it is very loud.  I was surprised to find something so basic as this...it looks pretty modern too.  The tailoring is great, it just looks so normal for them.

The Tadashi dress is a bit too big, but I think it still looks ok.  I just can't pass up Tadashi, his designs are really figure flattering.

The last two...I thought that silk dress looked neat.  Like it was made from a scarf!  It was new with tags, so I thought it was worth it, even though it's a chinese brand.  The quality is fine, but not amazing.

The last dress I just bought because it was super cheap.  Well, I really liked the print, but I wouldn't buy Suzy Shier stuff otherwise.

Fake Burberry jacket:  $9.99 @ Value Village

I bought this a long time ago...I never bothered to post these pictures after I found out it was a fake, but I thought I might as well now, in light of the other one.  Again, just for reference!

Luckily I was able to exchange this.  The fit wasn't flattering at all, so I wasn't that unhappy when they said it was fake.

Still, the details did look pretty good to me!  I've been looking at real ones, and I really can't see the difference in the tags.

I think I'll just have to inspect real ones at a store someday..

So, there you have it!  If you have anything like this, it's probably a fake too.

NWT Marks & Spencer red wrap dress:  $5 (RSP:  $82)
Lavand - Clock print halter dress:  $6.50 (RSP:  ~$100)
Ted Baker London - Grey pantsuit:  $10 (RSP:  ~$600)

Japan et Chine - Leather jacket:  $6.50
Mackage - Perla A rain jacket in military:  $6.50 (RSP:  $300+)

All @ Value Village.

I'm surprised I found so much good stuff all at once!  Nothing super high end, but definitely more than I'd normally pay.

I even found a beautiful Kenzo trench coat...it probably retailed for around $1000.  Sadly, it was so small!  It was labeled a medium, but it fit like an extra small!  Too bad, I would have loved to have it.  It was only $6.50 and a recent style!!

I almost didn't buy the Ted Baker set...it's a size 4, which I normally have no hope of fitting into.  Surprisingly, it fit!  I'm happy I gave it a try, because the lining is really neat:

It didn't feel super high end, but the blazers retail for around $250.  Surprisingly, the pants retail for around $250!

The dress was more than I wanted to pay, but the print was so neat, I had to have it.  I found it in black here for $175!  That one has sleeves, so I wonder how much this one retailed for.  Their other ones have been around $100.

I think it looks way better in white!

Always love finding Mackage -- their designs are so fitted and stylish, akin to brands much more expensive than them.  I've found three so far...and I've bought two of them.  The first one was a wool jacket, but it looked way too used to buy.  Here's the official photo of the one I just bought:

I'm happy the other two worked out, and I'm always on the lookout for more!  They do keep some value.  I've seen this jacket sell for $125 used!  It's from 2012, but I think the look is timeless.

Evan Picone - Long black wool coat:  $9 (RSP:  ~$300)
Bebe - Contrast coated scuba moto:  $6.50 (RSP:  $129)

Joe Fresh - NWT Wool/mohair sweater dress:  $5 (RSP:  $69)
6 Shore Road -  NWT Silk shirt dress:  $7.50 (RSP:  $100+)
Katie - Pink polka dot halter dress:  $5

All @ Value Village

I almost didn't go, but I'm glad I did.  I almost always find great stuff, and this was no exception!

I was pretty annoyed at the prices though.  This is one of the worst ones I've seen!  They had a lot of USED dresses for $20...which is crazy.  At least the other ones reserve those prices for NWT stuff!

Which makes me really surprised that the Joe Fresh dress was so cheap.  It was extra small, so I didn't think it would fit...but thankfully, I tried it on and it did!  It wasn't even too tight, it was like magic.

The 6 Shore road dress is missing 3 buttons, which means I'll have to replace all of them.  But the style is so gorgeous I thought it was worth the effort.

I wasn't sure about the last one, but since I'm a sucker for halters it had to come with me.

The coats...I'm sure the bebe one was new, because there were three of them, and all of the labels were cut off!  They all had slight staining to the sleeves, so I think they were probably donated by the company.

They were all marked a large, and they certainly looked the same size...but two of them were actually extra small!!  Thankfully, one was a medium, and that one fit.  But really, looking at the rack they all looked the same size!

Bebe stuff is normally super pricy even used, so I kind of thought the prices were sort of up there.  I do think they have a lot of interesting styles.

I was surprised to learn that the jacket only retailed for $129!  I guess they price things so high secondhand because there's a demand for it.

I was happy about the black coat, since I've been looking for a long, warm, fitted one for a long time.  The outside looks new, but there are a lot of tears in the lining that I'll have to repair.  Considering how great it looks on, I thought it was worth the effort!

Roper - Leather military jacket:  $20 (RSP:  $275+)
Teacup piggy:  $2.99

Both @ Value Village

The belt was $3 at Penny Pincher:

$1 more than their other belts, but well worth it!  The original price sticker of $45 was still on it!  I wonder how old this belt is.  I don't know if it's ever been worn!

I didn't have high hopes for this Value Village, I haven't found any decent doll there in ages!  Surprisingly, I have found a lot of teacup piggies there.  There was even another one today, but it was priced at $3.99 for some reason.  Also, it was a colour I had so there was no point in buying it.

This one's way different than the other ones I have.  It must be a really early one because it says things my other ones don't.  The pig noises sound more realistic too...I prefer this one!

This one and the other one I picked up look new too, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it.  I have passed up two other used pigs already!  They just looked too beat up.

I'm pretty happy about the jacket.  It looks great on!  It has a lot of pretty pleated details that don't show up.  The leather is just so stiff though, I wish it were softer!  It doesn't look or feel like it's ever been worn.

I almost passed it up too!  When I saw it on the rack, for some reason, I wasn't very excited about it.  Thank goodness I came to my senses and tried it on!  Once I did, it was a no-brainer.

FM Canada - leather jacket:  $5
Jet jacket - Thick leather racing jacket:  $12.50

ML Collection Paris - Peach crochet detail skirt suit:  $9.99

All @ Value Village

The coats were half off because they have a winter sale this week, but the suit was full price.  It was so pretty though, and the price was reasonable enough...I decided to get it anyway.

I was so surprised about the $5 leather jacket!  I've never seen them this low there.  This one's actually in pretty great condition, it barely has any signs of wear!

The leather is soft and supple, plus it's a colour I don't already have.  It was a no-brainer!  It just has two small pen marks that I'm hopeful will come out.  Even if they don't, they're really not very noticeable.

The other jacket is such great quality!  It's the heaviest leather I own, plus it looks completely unworn.  I don't really like the patch, maybe I'll take it off.

Originaux par Pablo - Beige leather jacket:  $10 (4 days)
Bag of toys:  $2 (3 days)
Blue knot buckle belt:  $1 (20 days)
Red silk silver plated belt:  $2 (4 days)

All @ Talize

I just can't help it, they always have great stuff here!  It was snowing, but I decided to go anyway.  After missing out on winners' final clearance, I just had to go!

I wasn't sure about the leather jacket, since I do have some that are a similar colour.  This one's a bit thicker and roomier, so I decided to get it.

That red belt is crazy!  It's pretty old, I'm not sure how old exactly...but the buckle has a patina to it, so it's at least silver plated!  The sash is made of silk too, so this must have been expensive.  I've never seen a belt that exquisite before!

The other one isn't very exciting in comparison, but since it was cheap and nice I picked it up.

What was in the toy bag.  An interesting note - the bigger doll with plastic shoes doesn't have any feet!  She has leg stumps...I thought that was hilarious.

Some stuff was out of the picture, but that's pretty much it.  I low how much stuff you get at Talize!  It's always 2-4 more times what you would get at Value Village, and their toys never go on sale.

I wanted the LPS blythe of course.  Finally!  I was going through kind of a drought recently.

The wardrobe is neat too, except the stickers really cheapen it.  Turns out it is cheap...you can get them on ebay for $3.50 shipped!  That's a great price for what you get.

That one is hot pink though, so it looks even cheaper!  I much prefer the colouring of mine.

It also came with this weird tiny baby attached to a high seat.  It's for a Kelly doll...there's a lever that moves the doll's arms up and down.  I've never seen anything like that before, but it came out in 1998.  It is pretty ugly, but I do like how small it is.

I also liked most of the figures, especially the rudolph and the LPS chick!  I don't normally care for littlest pet shop animals, but some of them are pretty great.

Berkertex Mayfair -  Mod yellow wool dress:  $4
Frank R Jelleff - Fitted cropped black coat:  $4

Both @ Value Village

And both totally vintage, probably from the 60's.  The second one's so fitted, I just had to pick it up...I just love the tag:

The other one was such a great colour and it looked unworn.  So much vintage stuff today!

Moschino Cheap and Chic - Wool military jacket:  $4 (RSP:  $1000+)
Helen Morley - Brown silk blazer:  $4

Hot coral chiffon dress:  $3.50
Catherine J Guilbert Paris - Vintage dress:  $6.50

All @ Value Village

Half off day..I just had to go!  I'm glad I went to this one first.  I was surprised there were so many high end finds!

I pretty much pick up everything Moschino, especially if it fits me, which this one does.  I wasn't sure about the silk blazer, but I liked the design (and it was silk!) so I bought it.  Turns out they sell that brand at Neiman Marcus, so it probably retailed for at least $300.

The coral dress is way brighter than the picture shows.  No tags, but I think it's vintage.  The great thing about chiffon is it never looks like it...wash it and no one's the wiser.  It was cheap enough and I thought the colour was interesting, so I bought it.

The other dress was way more than I wanted to pay, but I could tell it was special.  It was probably from the 60's.  The tag says "mirror room," which was a high end specialty shop at the Bay, which showcased fashions from around the world to the wealthy.  This excerpt says it all:

The Mirror Room was an exclusive salon that not only carried the best clothes but also kept track of who owned what. Society ladies’ purchases would be unofficially registered with the Mirror Room sales clerks. If a society lady wanted a dress that had already been purchased by another lady in the same social circle, she would be informed that the dress was ‘unavailable.’

Crazy!

Gucci - Leather pants (RSP:  $2000+!) (17 days)
Classic O Part - Leather blazer:  $7.50 (10 days)

Both @ Talize

I always hope for an exciting find when I thrift, and this was it for this trip!  It was actually the very first thing I picked up...I wonder if it would have still been there if I wasn't first in the leather section.

I think it's real, the quality is amazing!  I'd pay that much for leather this nice regardless of the brand.  I was actually on the lookout for leather pants!

I looked at tags on ebay and I think they look right.  Their leather pants go anywhere from $2000 to $7000!!

I wasn't sure about the other jacket, but I picked it up because it was made out of super soft leather, and it looked new.  Plus, I don't have a blazer type jacket like this one in black.

Monday, July 15, 2013

My Feno Italy - Navy blue zip up jacket:  $2 @ Salvation Army (RP:  $10+)

From the last one, which was also small and disappointing.  I can't remember the details exactly because they ripped the tag out when I bought it.  I really didn't think much of it when I saw it, but I decided to try it on a whim....I was shocked.  It fit like a dream!

It was flattering and sexy in all of the right places.  There's Chinese writing on the tag though, so it's probably not made in Italy.  The quality is good enough though, and the fit is excellent.

It actually took me a while to decide, but I definitely made the right decision.  Especially for that price!

Monday, May 13, 2013

Sonia Lazaroff - leather bomber jacket: $10
Transparent striped belt: $1.50
Costa Blanca - Chiffon flower dress: $6.50

All @ Talize

I almost didn't pick up the jacket, but then I came to my senses! It looks new and it feels like butter...it's made in Italy, but I've never heard of the designer.

I paid way too much for the flower dress, but I loved it so much I had to get it. I want more florals for spring, but it's hard to find something that's not ugly.

This dress was so me!  I loved everything about it...I just had to have it.  Even the print looked beautiful!

I normally pass up those kind of belts, but this one was different - the elastic had black and transparent stripes!  I thought that was really cool.

Funnily enough, I found the exact same on in a solid black at another store, for the exact same price.  It's so boring like that!

Atmosphere - Lime green leather jacket:  $10
Seductions - Ruffled yellow long cotton blouse:  $2.50

Vintage burgundy / wine red cowboy boots:  $5

It took me a long time to decide on this jacket.  I really don't like the colour much, but I've never found one in that shade before!

I do want to have a rainbow of leather jackets, which is why I ended up buying it.  It is fitted and modern, otherwise I definitely wouldn't have bought it.

$10 was pretty high, even at half price.  But that shade...I doubt I'll ever find it again!

The top is from Sirens, but it's surprisingly nice.  Made entirely out of cotton!  I also liked the length and the colour...I don't have too many things in yellow.

The boots were an afterthought.  I forgot to check that section, so I doubled back after paying for the rest.

It had some gross dried grass on it, but I knew that would come off.  Now that it's off I see a lot of white specks, but I think it still looks good overall.

I fell in love with that colour!  It's such a gorgeous deep burgundy, I've never seen that shade of cowboy boots around.

Finding ones that fit me and are reasonably priced is even harder, so I didn't have to think too long for these.

H&M - Blush pink trench coat:  $6.50 (RSP:  $69.95)

Jones New York - Wool military blazer:  $6.50 (RSP:  $150+)

Both @ Value Village.

I almost didn't go to this location, but I'm glad I did!  I only had an hour left but I didn't want to rush...well, somehow I made it through.

I almost didn't think I'd get anything, but at the very last minute I found these gems!

I was really hesitant about the trench because it's H&M...a cheap mall brand.  I could probably have gotten it on sale new for $20, maybe...I don't really follow their sales.

Anyway, I tried it on and it took my breath away.  It was gorgeous!   Fitted, flared, and flattering...it's a beautiful princess cut.  I found a picture of another blogger wearing it:

It's amazing!  I didn't think H&M had good quality clothes, but this one was so impressive.  Even the lining is gorgeous!  I'll have to pay more attention to them from now on.

I didn't have high hopes for the blazer, but surprisingly, that looked good on too.  I definitely didn't want to pay full price for either (though I might have bought the trench still), so I'm happy with the price I paid.

Monday, April 1, 2013

Armani collezioni - houndstooth jacket:  $6.50 (RSP:  $1000+!)
Black rabbit fur coat:  $10

Banana Republic - Silk V-Neck dress (in 'willow grey'):  $6.50 (RSP:  $150)
Principles - NWT Intricate vintage floral blouse:  $5

Italian alabaster rose box:  $2
1965 frosted glass Snoopy box:  $2.50
Silver metal fish scale belt:  $2

All @ Talize.

Finally!  I can't remember when they had a half off sale...it's been a while.  I've been going through withdrawl, VV didn't have one last month!

The Armani was a no brainer.  This one actually felt like good quality, opposed to the first one I bought.  The fit is great, and I like the open sleeve detailing.  Some of their jackets are $3000, so I know this was at least $1K.

The dress....I'm always looking for nice silk!  It had a few problem areas (minor, a little pilling on the shoulders), but I really liked the design.  It's pretty good overall, so I bought it.

Turns out it's from 2010, and it retailed for $150!

I wasn't so sure about the blouse.  I think it's pretty to look at, but not so much to wear.  I think it might look great with some alterations, I really like the intricate floral detailing.

The clincher:  it's new with tags!  It's got to be at least 20 years old, so that's impressive.

The boxes were an afterthought.  They were cute and cheap so I bought them.

The belt I have in gold already, so I thought I needed a silver one too.  I do need to cut off some snags though.

I was also considering these real snakeskin boots:

They look so good....in pictures and from a decent distance.  Up close, they just looked so used!

I really liked them, but I didn't think they were worth $10...they were really worn, dirty, and yellowing.

I thought they might clean up ok, but it would have taken a lot of work...and I don't know how much they could really be improved.

I'm holding out for one in better condition.  I hope they come soon!  I've seen snakeskin boots before, but this is the first time they've been in my size.

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Tan leather box purse:  $2.50
UK2LA - Black ruffled shrug jacket:  $2
Brown gold frame purse:  $2
Coppercraft guild - Framed cameo wall portraits:  $2.50 each

All @ Salvation Army.

It was half off day today - those don't come around often enough!  I normally try to be there by opening, but this time I couldn't get there until 4 hours in.  I'm glad I still managed to find things I wanted.

The box purse is gorgeous!  I couldn't pick it up fast enough.  It's quite roomy and the leather is very nice.

I've wanted the shrug for a long time, but wasn't willing to pay full price.  I think it went down to $5 brand new (it is a Sirens/Urban Planet brand), but I still didn't think it was worth it.  I'm so glad I finally got it for the price I wanted to pay!

The purse....it took me so long to decide.  I ended up putting back a camel hair blazer, and I should have put this one back too!  The material isn't nice, but I liked the gold frame and the little insignia in the front.

It was only $2, but I feel like I don't like it that much.  It probably won't get much use.

The framed cameos on the other hand, are gorgeous!  I don't know how to incorporate them without making everything look busy, but I'm glad I got them.  They were totally washed out in the above picture, but here's a clear picture of them:

I love the one on the left, but I didn't care too much for the other one.  Still, I had to have the pair!

I actually saw BOTH of these at Value Village before.  I think they were $5.99 each.  I'm glad I didn't buy them then, I just didn't want to spend that much at the time.
