Monster High - Ghouls night out Spectra (RSP:  $29.99)
Monster High - Music Festival Clawdeen (RSP:  $19.99 - $24.99)
Monster High - Music Festival Abbey (RSP:  $19.99 - $24.99)

$20 for all from Walmart.ca

They were actually supposed to be $10 each, which would have been a steal in itself.  These dolls basically just came out, and that's practically the lowest any of them go (usually after a long, agonizing wait).

The problem...wal mart sent them in a plastic bag with  NO protection at all!!  Of course the boxes all came mangled, it's even worse in person.

They ended up giving me $10 back, which makes everything a total steal.  I did want to keep them in box though, but the packaging is so battered I don't know if I will.

Even worse, the dolls themselves had flaws!  Spectra has scratches all over her legs, which is strange, since there's no reason for it:

And Abbey's lip paint is totally ruined.  It's half gone, you can even see some of it on the box!

I contacted mattel, so let's see if they do something about it.  Normally they send some money off vouchers for damaged dolls, so I'm hoping they do that here.

*edit*

They gave me a $40 voucher.  Hooray!

Benefit - They're real mascara and watt's up highlighter:  free @ Sephora (RSP:  ~$20)

Plus some tattoo samples from burberry.  What an odd idea, but it's presented in a really neat way.

The set from Sephora is their birthday freebie.  They always have such good ones!  This one and last year's were worth about $20 each...what a generous gift!

They actually offered me last year's again, but I'd rather have a different one, even though I'd use the older one more.

Also got a gift from a friend:

A purse with pearl accents, a pearl necklace, and a cherub figure.  She sure knows what I like!

Ultima II - Head over heels 50 ml eau de toilette spray:  $11.36 @ Fragrancex

Last time was a fiasco, but since they handled it well, I decided to try them out again.  Well, they were also the cheapest place to get this, so that was another deciding factor!

I really only wanted this for the bottle.  I thought it was so fun and kitschy!

I was hoping the perfume would smell decent, but I wasn't counting on it.  Not surprisingly, it smells horrible...like hairspray with a slight fruity smell at times.  I would never war this!  It used to be made by revlon, so I wasn't expecting much.

Sadly, they're not on ebates anymore, so I didn't get any cashback for this.

Gold lion cameo pendant:  $.99 (BIN:  $7.99+)
Black/gold rivet necklace:  $1.04/$1.66 (Highest:  $3.02)
Black lace collar with chains and gems:  $2.25 (Highest:  $12.88)
Silver rhinestone double snake collar:  $1.25 (BIN:  $6

Clear pink gem collar:  $2.54
Green gem necklace:  $1.25 (Highest:  $2.70)
Blue circle necklace:  $1.61 (Highest:  $3.49)

Black gemstone necklace:  $2.06 (Highest:  $3.76)

All off eBay.

I'm in love with that lace collar!  The little heart charms are such a great addition.

I actually ended up getting two of the double snake necklace, but I have no idea why!  I got one from a different seller, I'm not sure which one made the mistake.

Gold accent floral porcelain serving tray:  $1.99
Vintage Japanese ceramic pig cookie jar:  $1.99

Both @ Salvation Army

I was looking for some frames, but I came across these instead.  I almost didn't buy them, but I couldn't resist...especially since I had a BOGO coupon.  The pig jar was regularly priced $3.99, which was a decent price anyway.  $1.99 was a total steal!

The tray was the first thing I picked up.  I just thought it was so pretty, and the price was unheard of for what it is.  I think it might be plated in real gold!

It's hand painted, but all of the other markings have faded off.  Too bad.  After deciding on the tray for sure, I bought the pig to make use of my aforementioned coupon.

I just like kitschy retro stuff from Japan, especially when it's $2 or less!  Too bad that doesn't have markings either, I like having more info on my finds.

Elle Beauty Box - Fall 2013

This is a new thing they're starting.  I've considered subscribing to one, so this was a nice surprise!  I wasn't sure if I was going to get one, since it was a guarantee.

This was completely free, so I can't really complain...but I really wish they sent me the box with the nail polish!  That one also had 30 ml samples of shampoo and conditioner.

The box I got was the age reversing box - which at 28, I have no use for!  I seriously have no signs of aging, I still get carded!  So I really can't give them feedback on those products, I wonder if they just sent them out at random.

Mine came with a full size covergirl mascara, 10 ml shampoo and condition samples, a white strip, and some age reversing serum.

They're having another one soon.  I hope I get that one too, and it actually has products I can use!

Yellow satin sundress:  $5.50 (BIN:  $18.99)
White flower print halter dress:  $8.58 (RSP:  $15+)
Organza blouse with embroidered flowers:  $6.33 $5.13 (RSP:  $10+)

Ankle length black chiffon halter dress:  $11.57 (RSP:  $20+)
Yellow/blue/white halter dress:  $10.66 (RSP:  $15+)
Long grey chiffon button up dress:  $13.24 (RSP:  $20+)
Pink tank top with crochet detailing:  $2.27 (BIN:  $8.99)

All off eBay

I normally don't buy clothes off ebay, so I don't know why I ended up with so many lately.  The quality is normally pretty horrible, stuff that wouldn't be fit to sell at your local mall.

Surprisingly, all of these were at least decent.  The satin and white floral dresses were mall quality.  The other chiffon ones were a little cheaper feeling, but they still looked good.

The button up dress is the worst!  I wish I didn't pay so much.  The quality is noticeably worse, even though the style looks good.  I've seen it for around $12 lately, so I wish I paid that or less.

I'm happiest about the satin sundress.  It looks just like a huge scarf!  I thought it was so neat, and I was really excited to get it for such a great price.

The embroidered top was beautiful, and the price was so good!  Too bad it ended up being too small for me.  It's great quality and unique.   I got a partial refund because a button fell off.

My favourite dress is the yellow floral one.  I just really like the colour combinations and print, plus it looks great on.  Well, they all do this time!

Crystal studded UK flag skull duster clutch:  $23.75 off aliexpress

This was a little more than I wanted pay, but I just loved this clutch! It's studded on both sides, so I thought it was worth it.  Most crystal clutches are way more than this one, so I thought it was a good deal.

I've seen some $30+ that were only studded on one side.  I've seen this same clutch sell for over $60 elsewhere!

Skull duster clutches:  $13.79 $10.29 each off aliexpress (RSP:  $18+ each)

This is the first bad transaction I've had off there!  This is what the purses were supposed to look like..

Come on!  That's completely different.  The fabric is the same, except the colours are completely different.  And of course, the handles are a different colour too!  One of the stones already fell out too, great quality there!

I'm hoping for at least half of my payment refunded.  That only seems fair!

*edit*

They only gave me $5 back total. I guess that's better than nothing!  I also used a $1 off coupon on each one I ordered, so it was still a decent deal in the end.

3D framed print - Song of the Angels by William Bouguereau (1881):  $2
Flirty Pink perfume:  $3

Both @ Dollarama

It was a busy day today!  I didn't expect to buy any of these, but they were impulse buys.

I don't like overly religious art, but I do like angels.  This is a good sized print (around 10 X 12 inches), and it was super cheap.  I thought I could do something with it, even though it is a somewhat tacky hologram.

*edit*

Get out of here!  The painting was actually by my favourite artist, William Bouguereau.  I didn't recognize it as one of his!  Now I'm glad I bought it.  I have 3 of his prints, this one's the smallest (and cheapest!).

*second edit*

No way!  I just found out that one of my other unknown prints was also painted by him.  I guess I just know what I like!

I actually considered buying that perfume for $5 at Urban Behavior.  I'm glad I didn't!  I was totally ok with paying $3, I only really wanted the bottle (which is a dupe of the Gaultier bottle).

The fragrance itself is supposed to be dupe of Pink Friday by Nicki Minaj, which I don't like anyway (though I do like the bottle!).

I think it smells similar, but it is gross (I also thought that about the original).  Surprisingly, the lasting power is pretty good!  It's been 9 hours and I can still smell it.

I was also surprised to see a victoria's secret perfume dupe...surprised because it had the same cherub cap as my glow!

It was a lot rougher, but it was ok.  I only really bought the other one for the bottle, so I was a bit annoyed.

That one was way uglier though, it didn't go together at all.  The bottle looked like a wine flask!

I'm wary about perfumes that cheap, I'm paranoid that there are horrible ingredients in there.  It is made in the US though, so that's something.

I did some research at home, and surprisingly, some people say that some of the dupes smell nearly the same as the originals!  None of the ones I've seen though.  All of those ones have been really cheap and crappy with no staying power.

I am a bit impressed by some of the packaging though.  Some of the bottles are actually pretty nice, like this one!  There are some quality issues, but I'm talking about the overall design.

Even the packaging was pretty good...I thought the graphics were very nicely done and I liked it.  Besides the actual smell, it doesn't look like a cheap perfume!

Monster High - Dot Dead Gorgeous Lagoona:  $10 @ Toys r us (RSP:  $29.99)

Finally!  I thought I missed out on her after walmart's sale passed, but I heard that she was on sale here too.  When I went there were two left..it took me so long to decide!

I almost bought the other one because I liked her lip colour better.  It was a bit pinker and much pearlier.

I ended up buying this one because her hair was much prettier, the other one was so messy and barely had any curls.  The other one was also mostly blonde...this one had more distinct turquoise streaks.

I'm just glad I finally have her.  Hooray!

Pearlescent white mermaid soap dish:  $4.99
Set of 4 victorian cherub print coasters in a tin:  $.99

Both @ Value Village

That mermaid caught my eye right away!  I loved her pose and expression...she seemed so flirty and carefree.  I thought she'd be an amazing display piece.  She's around 7 inches tall and 6 inches wide.

Most statuettes I see are horribly carved with super ugly faces, so this was a nice surprise.  This is so nicely sculpted!  She even has nipples.

But....I'm so mad.  When I got home, I accidentally dropped the bag...her head broke off!  I glued it back on, but you can still see the damage:

It still looks alright from far away, but up close it's so crappy.  I really wish I was more careful, I already wrapped it in clothing but I didn't expect it to fall out.

I'll just see if I can replace it later on.  I've seen them sell for $20+ online!  A lot of them are painted too, which I think makes them look super ugly.

The coasters were an afterthought.  I almost put them back, but I thought the image was worth $1.  2 of the coasters are pretty used, but the other half are fine.

Long mirrored vanity tray:  $3 @ MCC Thrift

I'm on the hunt for certain picture frames.  I was hoping to find them today, but at least I found this!

It was a little more than I wanted to pay, but considering how long it was (around 15 inches), I thought it was worth it.  These hardly ever turn up!

Ricki's - NWT olive green asymmetrical skirt (RP:  $7.99 - $40+)
Danier - Black floral satin skirt (RP:  $6.99 - $50+)

Denver Hayes - NWT Forest green jeans (RP:  $12.99 - $49.99)
Danier - Snake print leather pants (RP:  $24.99 - $150+)
Black high waisted leather pants (RP:  $10.99)

$1 each @ Kim's Village

I didn't expect to buy so many bottoms!  I normally don't since I don't like trying them on, and you really have to for these.

Well, I ended up doing that.  I need more pants!

The Danier pants are a little too small for me, but I figured I could use the leather for something else if I can't wear it.

I really didn't think the other leather pants would look good..they looked so dated!  But the waist looked interesting, so I decided to try it on.

I'm glad I did!  This is a total gem, it looks amazing on.  I was worried it'd be baggy, but it's pretty much skintight.  The high waist looks awesome, especially with the criss cross detailing on the band.

I actually saw a ton of Danier leather stuff, at least 6 pieces.  Most of them were suede pants though, I hate suede!  It's too bad, some of them had really nice designs.

Well, they were also too small, so I wasn't tempted in the least.  I wonder if they were donated by the company, they didn't look used!

Atena - Black blazer with brocade collar (RP:  $19.99)
Long tweed blazer (RP:  $19.99)

Andrew Marc New York - White button placket halter dress (RP:  $18.99 - $130+)
Marc D'alcy Paris - Long tropical print dress (RP:  $8.99)

$1 each @ Kim's Village

I always have to go whenever they have this sale!  You just never know what you're going to find.

I wasn't sure about the blazers, since they are a bit too small for me.  I can't close them fully, but they're really nicely fitted everywhere else.  I think they still look ok, so I bought them anyway.  The quality is great.

The black one is actually  new with tags.  It came with a beautiful matching skirt that was made of the same material as the collar, but it was way too small so I left it behind.

I wasn't too sure about the dresses, but I couldn't resist for the price!  The second one is vintage.  I thought it would look cute in a campy way.  I found a picture of the white dress in blue:

It's definitely better in white!

Just some samples.  I was most excited about the Korres ones - their value is around $11 each!  It's their rose oil brightening and moisturizing cream.  I got one for me and my mom.

Silver skull duster clutch:  $7
Gold skull duster clutch:  $6.50/$9.50/$9.50/$9.56

All off eBay.

A seller was mass listing these, so I decided to try to win a few to customize.  Now I wish I paid less..I've seen them go even lower!

At least I'm set for a while.  I probably won't be buying any more of these clutches, unless I see something that's either really interesting or just a great deal.

Can you believe that all came in one package?  I didn't expect to buy so much, but there were just so many good deals.  It's a pain to put it all together like this, but it helps me keep track of what has/hasn't come.

White/clear geometric necklace:  $2.26 (Highest:  $4.25)

All off eBay.

This was probably a mistake...but I just felt like I needed more necklaces!  I felt like I didn't have enough huge gems.  They ended a lot lower than the last times I tried to win them, what a surprise!

Another surprise...they've started grouping things together!  I got these 12 in one package.  They sent it registered too, so it came even faster than normal.  It's a good change, sure saves on packaging!

Gold skull duster purses in crocodile print (fuchsia, black, white):  $13.44 each

Pink/gold skull duster clutch:  $14.98
Pink/brown/purple snakeskin cobra skull duster clutch:  $11.97

All off aliexpress

...besides the black one.  I got that one off amazon for free since I used my points.  I'm pretty happy with all of them, they were all such good deals!

I've wanted the gold handle ones for a long time, since I always use them and that's the colour I prefer.  They're even better in person!  I wish I could have gotten them for cheaper (especially considering how low my other ones were), but I was ok with that price.

The pink clutch is gorgeous!  That one was actually regular price.  I wasn't sure how it would look in person (especially since the last pink one I got was completely different than expected), but it looks just like the picture.  I love how pale and pearly it is.

The cobra one was an afterthought, since I noticed this seller had a crazy $12 off coupon with only a $20 minimum!  I was worried they wouldn't honour it, but thankfully they did.

I had to choose a different colour (the one I bought was silver), and this would have been my last choice.  I'm probably just going to reupholster it.

Monster High - Girls night out Lagoona (RSP:  $29.94)
Monster High - Ghouls Alive Frankie (RSP:  $29.94)
Monster High - Ghouls Alive Clawdeen (RSP:  $29.94)

$10 each $8.60 total @ Walmart

What a great deal!  This was an anniversary sale, I never thought these would be clearanced so low!  I'm so glad I waited.  I've wanted them since they came out, but I was waiting for a good sale..it finally came around!

I finally used my walmart gift card from tellwut, so it was an even better deal.

I also bought the Lagoona, she was just too pretty.  The line pretty much just came out too, so that pricing was irresistible.

The Frankie came with a pin...I noticed that sticker on few other ghouls alive boxes, so I thought they all had it.

Turns out my Clawdeen didn't.  I wish I checked, but I probably would have bought the same one in the end.  The other ones had really messed up hairlines!

Bag of barbie dolls:  $3.99
Julie and Leonard - Red blazer with black/white stripe accents:  $9.99

Both @ Salvation Army

I haven't found any vintage barbies in a while so I was really happy about these.  There are two 1962 Midges in that bag!  I don't have any of her so they were a welcome addition.

It turns out one of them is missing a hand, but at least the other one is fine.  They're not worth too much (maybe $10 each if I'm lucky), but you can't beat $2 each.

I also found a body that matches this doll even better than the old one.  It's actually a clone body, but it's better than the real thing!  It's more articulated and the details are finer.  Material wise, it's as good as mattel's.  Too bad there are no marks on it, I wonder who made it.

The blazer...it was way more than I wanted to pay, but it was something special.  The construction, fabric, and design all made me think of something couture!

Turns out it's not, which was surprising, but it's still a wonderfully made piece.  It's fitted everywhere and just so unique!

Red and white lace peplum top with chain belts:  $2 each (RSP:  $12 each)

Metalllic gold brocade shorts:  $3 (RSP:  $19)
Embroidered rose button up chiffon dress:  $10 (RSP:  $28)

Parisian collection - Beige gold/pink chiffon rosette floor length dress:  $10 each (RSP:  $28)

All @ Urban Behavior

This is why I love this store!  It's the best place to get cheap clothing year round.  I just wish it was closer to get to.

I actually came back for the red lace top.  I saw it yesterday and wanted to get it, but I didn't have time.  I wish I bought the blue one as well, but I'm glad I managed to get those ones.

The red is a dark burgundy, totally gorgeous!  I was initially just going to get that one, but I'm just such a sucker for white lace, especially at that price.

The shorts were a great buy.  I thought they were so neat, I've never seen them around!  For the price, I thought they were worth adding to my closet.

I didn't really want to pay $10 for the rose dress since I already have similar dresses in that style, but the print swayed me.  I just love the colour, the size..everything about it!  Since I was getting a deal on everything else, I decided to just splurge.

The floor length dresses are my favourites from this round.  I actually dismissed them yesterday, thinking they'd look cheap and ugly on...but I was wrong!  They're actually really gorgeous, and don't look cheap at all.

It turns out the cashier actually forgot to scan one of them in, so I ended up with a really great deal on everything.

I've never seen them at any of the other stores, so I'm happy I got them here.  I wouldn't have them otherwise!

Romanesque belt:  $2 @ Dollarama
J.Lo - My glow 100 ml eau de toilette:  $20 @ Shoppers (RSP:  $78)
Anna Sui - Dolly girl 50 ml eau de toilette:  $10 (meet up)
Michel Germaine - Tattoo 100 ml eau de parfum:  $12.99 (RSP:  $70)

Had a great day!  I met someone to buy the Dolly girl perfume, and decided to do some shopping while I was out.

The belt was the first thing I bought.  I love it!  It reminds me of something a warrior would wear...the buckle looks like a shield.  It's really sturdy and doesn't seem cheap at all, I was so surprised to find it there!  Now I'll have to check out the other ones.

The J.Lo perfume was the second thing I picked up.  I was totally shocked!  I just found out about this perfume about a week ago, and was thinking about buying a 30 ml bottle online for $20.

I'm glad I didn't.  I really didn't think I would find this locally, this perfume came out 4 years ago and I've never seen it sold here.

It's like it was waiting there for me...there was just one bottle on the shelf!  It's really strange to see a 100 ml perfume on clearance, most of the time they're only 30 ml.

I really only bought it because I love that bottle..but thankfully, it smells decent too.

I also picked up another bottle of tattoo since they've raised the price to $20.  I'm glad I managed to find one of the older ones that were cheaper.  I just hope it doesn't expire, but I couldn't resist.  It's such a great smelling perfume for an insane price.

Monday, September 9, 2013

Red skull duster purse:  $4.40 @ eBay
Beige and black skull duster clutches:  $8.53 each @ aliexpress

Everything in this picture was incredibly cheap, and it all came on the same day too!  I'm pretty happy about everything.  The red one was my cheapest ebay win, and I was really surprised it ended so low.

The other ones were from an aliexpress seller with no feedback, but the pricing was too tempting to pass up.  Thankfully they came through!

I was thinking about getting them when I saw them for $12.50, but I'm glad I waited.  These are the cheapest ones yet!

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

Lady Gaga Fame perfume set (30 ml eau de parfum spray, 10 ml roll on, tattoo):  $15 (RSP:  $45)

I actually got this from someone locally.  She got it for $22.50, which is an amazing price!  Things hardly ever go that cheap here, especially not for decent perfumes.

Anyway, she only used a few sprays so it's practically new.  I like this perfume - I like the bottle and the fact that the liquid is black.  It's the only one of it's kind like that!

This time, I actually tried it on before I bought it...I got a sample a long time ago but never did anything with it.

Some parts are a bit generic, but some parts are distinct.  It actually smells pretty good, and the quality smells like a normal perfume of this cost...not a celebrity perfume.

The 30 ml bottle of this goes for $39 alone, so I'm happy with my deal.  I do see some cheaper deals online, but since there are fakes of this, I'd rather not risk it.

Lolita Lempicka - L'eau en blanc 100 ml eau de parfum:  $25 @ amazon.ca (RSP:  $100+)

I was so surprised to find this!  It only came out last year, plus things are normally priced ridiculously on amazon.ca.  This was actually the cheapest price I've seen for this anywhere, so I just had to snatch it up.  It even had free shipping!

I'm in love with Lolita Lempicka, so I always buy their apple shaped perfumes whenever I see them at a decent price.  This has been the best deal so far!

I went to shoppers drug mart and saw they have a lot of interesting perfumes on clearance...DKNY Be delicious (red and golden) and BCBGMaxazria bon chic.  I smelled them before and though they were good, but I didn't try them until then.

Be Delicious was a bit disappointing.  There are times it smells good, and other times where it just smells sickening!  At the end it sort of smells like a cucumber.  It was $20 for 30 ml at shoppers, but I've seen the 50 ml version for $25 at winners before.  I think I'll pass on those.

I might get Bon Chic though.  It last so long...20 hours as of now!  But it's so generic smelling...that's in a good way though.  At some parts it smells like a mango, but the scent just seems a bit above a body spray.

I do like the bottle though.  I'll have to think about it!

Red skull knuckle duster purse:  $6.50 off  eBay (RSP:  $12.50 - $20+)

Finally, a good surprise!  I was expecting a kind of pale red, but it turned out to be a fire engine red.

It looks way better than I thought, I'm really happy with it.  I use these purses a lot, I still want more in other colours!
