Ann Taylor Loft - Coral leather (pigskin?) purse:  $4.99 (RSP:  $118...based on pricing on their site)
Satchi - Burgundy quilted leather purse w/chain straps:  $5.99

Both @ Value Village.

I came to return the fendi knock off, and to check out the sale at MCC.  Surprisingly, both of these were priced reasonably!  Especially the Satchi one...the leather is so soft and luxurious feeling.

Another bonus - neither of them look used!  Except both of them are a bit dirty on the outside...I'm really hoping that'll come off.

Seems a little early to me, but they had their Halloween displays set up already!  I love those lenticular portraits they sometimes sell:

Maybe I'll buy some of them when they're half off.

Farouche by Lori Weidner - NWT Embroidered light olive green skirt set:  $5
Lewa - leather portfolio/briefcase:  $4
Red eelskin clutch:  $1

All @ MCC Thrift Store.

I'm glad I came in!  I haven't been here in a while, but the turnaround isn't that great.  Normally the items aren't super high quality either, so I was surprised by what I found.

The Weidner suit was here for around a month, but I didn't want to pay full price for it.  Even just seeing it on the rack, I wasn't that fond of it.

I tried it on a whim - it was gorgeous!  The fit is amazing, like it was made for me.  I decided the second it was on me, it's that beautiful!  The shoulder pads will have to come out though.

The briefcase is great quality and still looks excellent.  I don't know if I'll ever use it, but that's a risk I'm willing to take for the price I paid.

I'm not that crazy about the eelskin clutch, but come on....I couldn't pass up an eelskin clutch for $1!

Textured silver collar w/rectangular ruby gem:  $2.25 (Highest: $6)
Silver cross shape necklace:  $2.07 (Highest:  $6)
Gold plated petal necklace:  $1.25 (Highest:  $4.25)
Pink/gold triangular collar necklace:  $2.06 (BIN:  $7.99)

3-row rhinestone collar:  $2.25 (Highest:  $6.50)
Wide brown corset belt:  $2.25 (Highest:  $4.25)
Long copper/silver engraved cuff:  $1.90 (BIN:  $6.97)
Red/gold zebra print cuff:  $1.76 (BIN:  $5.98+)

All off eBay.

I'm so happy with the copper cuff!  It's so much better than I expected...shiny, intricate, and huge!

The rhinestone collar on the other hand, was a disappointment.  It just looked a lot bigger in the picture.  It's not that nice.  Everything else I'm reasonably happy with.

Pink/white melamine heart tray:  $2 @ Daiso

I haven't been there in forever!  They do have a lot of neat crap there, but surprisingly, I was able to control myself.

I don't normally like buying plasticware, but this seemed like better quality than most.

Plus...the hearts...and it's pink...and it's useful!  I'm pretty sure I will use it so I ended up buying it.  It beats my other method, which is just juggling bowls on my lap!

Balenciaga Paris - Red leather purse:  $3.50
Black box purse:  $3.50
Leather/rabbit fur purse:  $3.50
Wide studded heart closure belt:  $3

Ralph et Josee - Long olive green blazer w/leather piping:  $9

Absolu - Grey blazer w/leather piping:  $4
Blue ozz - Fitted tan blazer:  $4

All @ Value Village.

This was the first VV I hit up on half off day - I'm so glad I did!  I found the most stuff there.  The quality of everything was unbelievable!

First off, the Balenciaga bag...I really do think it's real, because it's one of the best quality bags I've ever felt!  Through research, it turns out that it's not exactly the same as the Balenciaga that produces that bag that everyone wants.  They sold their name to another company that produces BB logo bags, and I think that's this one.

The only mystery to me is the Korean tags, but because of the quality, I really don't think it's fake.  People say that BB bags aren't really fake, and I read that they're really popular in Asia....so maybe that explains the Korean tags?

Even if it were fake, I'd still keep it!  It's better than a lot of my other, GENUINE, purses!  It even has a snap for the zipper, I've never seen that before!

The rabbit fur purse is great quality too, and it looks new.  I hate it when great quality bags don't have labels!  I don't see the point of putting that much work into it and not taking any credit for it.

The box purse is new as well.  I don't normally buy them, but I picked this one up because it had a beautiful closure and it was bigger than most I see.

The heart belt was a ripoff, but I loved the design so much I just had to pick it up.  It's so unique and cute!  Too bad it's in such crappy condition...I can take each side off, it's falling apart!

The blazers are all amazing quality, especially the olive green one.  I had to think about that one for a while since it's twice the price I like to pay for used blazers...well, I took it home, that's how great it was!  The leather piping and other stitching details are amazing.  It doesn't look like it was worn much, or at all.

The grey one has great piping details as well, but I noticed a few pen marks.  I picked it up anyway since it was cheap enough, and the quality was definitely there.

I hesitated on the tan one since it doesn't fit me right now.  I picked it up because it's the most fitted thing I've ever seen!  I'm holding onto it in case I ever become slim enough to wear it...

Urban Behavior leather collection - Beige rabbit fur and leather coat:  $12.50
Etienne Aigner - Multicolour leather purse:  $5
Givenchy - Canvas/leather trim purse:  $4.50 (RSP:  $1000!)

Liz Olemberg - Black leather shoes w/sculptured gold heels:  $4

All @ Value Village.

I'm so glad I went to this location!  I was considering skipping it since I haven't found anything that interesting there in a while...boy, was I surprised today!

First off, the leather coat - it's gorgeous!  It's everything I want in a leather coat...fitted, stylish, and reasonably priced.  Bonus points for the rabbit fur and being in like new condition!

I picked up the purses because I thought they were worth something, but sadly, they have no resale value.  I was duped by a fendi!  It sure looked convincing but there were some tells.  It'll be going back shortly, possibly with the Givenchy since that one keeps on flaking off everywhere!

The purse probably retailed for around $1000, judging by what they charge for purses now.  Which is crazy, since the quality isn't anything special...it isn't even lined inside!

The shoes are one of my favourite finds in a long while.  Those heels are crazy!  I'm a sucker for chrome gold paint in the first place, but I'm also fond of unique shoes.

The cut out heels are different, but not too out there.  I'm not a fan of ones that go in weird directions and no longer look like proper heels.

Best of all, these shoes are actually comfortable!  But I don't know if I would ever wear them out, they do look a little odd on!

The knockoff fendi - it does look pretty close to the original on the outside:

Actually, I think it'd be a really convincing fake if the handles were leather!

Farnell Paris - White clutch w/gold metal accents:  $3
Olive green embossed crocodile leather purse:  $4

Both @ Value Village.

Hooray for half off days!  I was undecided on the first one since I didn't think it was leather.

I'm still not sure of it.  But I just loved the design, and it looked practically new.  At the very least, if it is fake, it's not the really obvious icky feeling kind.

I'm really happy with the second one.  I bought it on a whim at first, but it really grew on me.  The condition is kind of crappy on the inside, but it still looks great outside.

I love the briefcase like design, plus it came with some money already in it!  Only a penny, but still..

Maxx New York - Gold pigskin turnlock purse:  (RP:  $6.99)
Ralph Lauren - School uniform type wool blazer (RP:  $7.99) (RSP:  $290!)

Both for $12 @ Salvation Army (had a coupon).

It wasn't a really good deal, but I just loved that blazer!  I think the embroidery is distinct enough for people to tell that it's not actually part of a uniform.  Plus, I just love all of the gold buttons.

I also love gold leather, so I had to pick up that purse.  It looked like new, and it has a lot of elements I normally like, like turnlocks and huge chains.

I just hate floppy purses though.  I ended up buying it anyway because I thought the design was neat, it was great quality, and it looked new.  I'm planning on giving it to a friend.

Lori Michaels Collection - Black/white leaf pattern maxi dress:  $3 (RSP:  $24.99-$50)
Foxy Jeans - Pinstripe dress:  $2 (RSP:  $16.99+)
Guess - Teal dress w/keyhole shoulder accents and open back:  $5 (RSP:  $34.99-$118)

Ripcurl - Poppy dress - $2 (RSP:  $16,99-$49.99)
Frederick's of Hollywood - Black one piece swimsuit w/zipper:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99-$40)
Cynthia Rowley - Black/white pencil skirt:  $2 (RSP:  $49.99-$78)

All @ Winners.

Finally done chronicling my haul!  I wasn't sure about the Guess dress...I love Guess, and I really like the style.  It's got some edgy takes on a simple classic, plus it's well made.  I just don't like the colour or that sleeves that much.

But $5 for a Guess dress?  I've happily paid more than that for cheaper mall brands, so that snapped me out of returning this beauty.

Can't wait until February!

Tramp - Turquoise green shirt w/slit sleeves:  $.70 (RSP:  $19.99-$40)
Mine - Plaid shirt w/cut out shoulders:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99-$40)
Freedom USA - Tattoo print shirt:  $2 (RSP:  $19.99+)

Sharagano - Brown skirt pants:  $2 (RSP:  $24.99-$48+)
D'annah - White ruched tank top:  $2 (RSP:  $16-$28)
Blush - Olive green bra w/cameo:  $1 (RSP:  $12.99-$28)

All @ Winners.

This was a great haul!  I absolutely love the first two tops in the first picture, they're so fashion forward!  I don't have anything like them.  I wore the plaid shirt the first day I got it.

The pants are crazy too...they're those really wide pants that look like skirts.  The one I have is plus size, so it goes up pretty high too - this one could double as a pantsuit!

I normally find those hideous, but with a neutral colour like this, I think it could work.  I don't have anything like this in my closet, so I was glad to find it.

The bra is gorgeous!  It has a tiny little cameo in the middle.  It's so up my alley.

Point Zero - jeans:  $3 (RSP:  $24.99-$42)
Sweet Rain - asymmetrical plaid chiffon sleeveless shirt:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99-$40)
Bamboo - Cork wedge sandals:  $3 (RSP:  $29.99-$58)
Anne Klein - Logo belt:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99-$42)

Sugar & Spice - Zebra print dress:  $2 (RSP:  $16.99-$32)
Menuse - Black/white leopard print dress:  $3 (RSP:  $16.99-$32)
Rennes - Grey/blue knit/chiffon asymmetrical tank top:  $1 (RSP:  14.99-$30+)

All @ Winners.

Not much to say about these - they're all going back!  They looked good at the time.

I really wanted to like the plaid top - in print it sounds amazing, but it just doesn't look great on.

I do love those sandals, but they're not comfortable.  I already have so many, I have no need for ones I won't wear.

The belt has that great Anne Klein lion logo and it connects in a really neat way....but it's better to look at than to actually wear.  Maybe if it was a lot wider.

Lace dress w/flower belt:  $5.50 (BIN:  $10.29+)
Jointed bone ring w/rhinestone nail:  $1.04 (BIN:  $4.99)
Gold plated lizard necklace:  $2.25 (Highest:  $5)
Silver metal rake necklace:  $2.26 (Highest:  $4.75)

All off eBay.

Surprisingly, just about everything today turned out great!  I love the rake necklace especially...that one was a lot better in person.

I thought the lizard necklace was such a neat concept.  I'm waiting on a snake one from the same seller!

I don't know why I bought that ring.  It was so me a decade ago, but it's not really my style anymore.

Max Studio - striped maxi dress:  $3 (RSP:  $49.99-$125)
Calvin Klein - navy blue tank top:  $.50 (RSP:  $19.99-$40)

Both @ Winners.

Sadly, I could only hit up one location today.  Even sadder, everything was still overpriced!  I managed to snag these two, but they both have minor problems.

The maxi dress has a rip I need to repair.  I might just cut it short if I don't like the look.  Here's a stock picture of the dress:

The tank has two small holes but they're not noticeable on.  I was going to pass on it at first, but it was cheap and made out of quality materials (cotton and modal).  The novelty of having a $40 tank top is probably what really sold me on it.

Thus ends another Winners final clearance saga...I can't wait until the next one!

Cynthia Rowley - slim fit khakis:  $.70 (RSP:  $34.99-$58)
Kitchen Discovery - Lemon wedge ice cube tray:  $.20 (RSP:  $2.99-$6)
Ripcurl - Guarana - White ruffled halter top:  $1 (RSP:  $12.99-$29.50)
Rene Rafe - Black/neon pink polka dot racerback bra:  $2 (RSP:  $9.99-$20)
XOXO - Wide yellow/black belt:  $.70 (RSP:  $9.99-$20)

All @ Winners.

I was so surprised this location had anything left!  I remember the last time I came here on a sale day, I could count the number of items left on one hand!  I left empty handed that time so I'm glad it wasn't a repeat this time around.

The halter top is surprisingly flattering on.  I'm glad I gave it a chance.  I was initially going to leave it behind.

I also left behind a lot of $3 sandals that looked great, but were hard to walk in.  Why can't I have better feet?

MTNG - Thalie - floral print sandals:  $2 (RSP:  $39.99-$99)
Michael Antonio - Tweed wedge sandals:  $3 (RSP:  $39.99-$75)
Urban Expressions - Island girl brown multi - wood closure woven clutch:  $1 (RSP:  $24.99-$48)
Jessica Simpson - Neon pink "Betty" clutch:  $3 (RSP:  $29.99-$58)
MMS - kisslock straw clutch:  $1 (RSP:  $24.99-$40)

LM Beach - Coral red maxi dress:  $2 (RSP:  $24.99-$50)
Lori Michaels Collection - Gold dress w/chain detailing:  $2 (RSP:  $29.99-$60+)

Lori Michaels Collection - White dress w/grommeted straps (RSP:  $19.99-$40)
Winki Girl - White ring back dress:  $.70 (RSP:  $19.99-$40)
Lori Michaels Collection - Blue peplum skirt:  $1 (RSP:  $24.99-$40)

The above picture shows the backs of the dresses...they're much more interesting than the fronts!

Lady dutch - navy green zipper skirt:  $2 (RSP:  $16.99+)
Calvin Klein - Khaki skirt:  $2 (RSP:  $29.99-$58)

All @ Winners.

I'm so glad I came to this location!  I really didn't think it would have anything left at this time...was I pleasantly surprised!

My favourite item from this haul is a toss up between the hot pink clutch and the floral sandals.  I wouldn't have thought myself to like either, but when I saw them I couldn't resist!

What I love about the sandals is the print is all around the shoe, including around the edges of the heel.  Adorable!

They were marked as 10's, but luckily they were only 40's...which is really only a 9.  The shoe is marked 10/40 but those are always much smaller than true 10's!

Omely - gold clutch w/rhinestone detailing:  $1 @ Winners (RSP:  $19.99-$30)
Urban Expressions - Andorra - Straw turnlock clutch:  $3 @ Winners (RSP:  $24.99-$48)
Gold cuff w/floral detailing:  $1.25 @ EFADS
Silver cuff w/floral detailing:  $1.25 @ EFADS

I pass up a lot of purses from Winners since they're normally made from cheap materials.  I loved the way these looked (plus they were cheap) so I picked them up.

I'm so annoyed about the cuffs!  I just paid twice as much for the exact same gold cuff on eBay...ughh.  Better check first next time!

On a side note - ooh, I got $4.40 from paypal as part of their cash back promotion!  Plus 11 cents while they were verifying my bank account from them.  A far cry from the 3 cents total the first time around!

Michael Kors - Black leather high heel sandals:  $3 (RSP:  $79.99-$145)
Blue leopard print bra:  $2 (RSP:  $12.99-$25)

Both @ Winners.

I came back here for a specific bra, but sadly, it was already gone.  This location barely had anything left so I was surprised I walked away with anything at all.

The shoes are gorgeous, but they make my legs kind of tired.  Also, they're half a size too big...but they seemed to look alright on.

The bra is nice, but I notice at home that the price was for a two pack...I might return it if the fit isn't that great.  There are no tags to indicate who the maker is.

Multileaf necklace:  $.95 off eBay (BIN:  $1.49+)

This is a gorgeous necklace!  I was going to use the BIN since it was reasonable enough, but once I saw I could get it for way cheaper I just had to wait....it took a while, but it's finally mine!

I wish it was more of a shiny gold instead of a tarnished one, but it's still pretty great.

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Woven/riveted gold collar:  $2.06 (BIN:  $8.99+)

Silver flower cuff:  $.99

Both off eBay.

The cuff wasn't as shown - I wish I notice before I left feedback!  The pattern is completely different and it's not as nice.  I thought it would be the same as the gold one I bought a while back, but it's a lot smaller.

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

White/black halter dress w/lace detailing:  $6 (Highest:  $11.50)
"J.Crew" bubble bib necklace:  $2.66 (BIN:  $9+)
Gold/blue collar necklace:  $2.26 (BIN:  $7.99+)
Wide curved gold collar:  $3.44 (Highest:  $9.45)

All off eBay.

Pretty happy with this batch.  I've wanted the gold collar for a long time, and this one's thicker than most of the other ones on the bay.  It was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but it was so worth it!

Ditto with the J.Crew knockoff.  It's actually quite gorgeous in person!  The original retails for almost $200 and the materials weren't that much better.  Definitely not when you factor in the price!

Dress is gorgeous, but I'm going to have to lose some weight before I wear it out...the skirt doesn't hide anything!

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Gold plated multileaf necklace:  $2.91 (BIN:  $8.10+)
Silver multichain necklace:  $2.47 (BIN:  $6.91)
18K Gold plated oval gem necklace w/filigree flower detailing:  $2.36 (BIN:  $6+)

All off eBay.

I've been going hard on the statement necklace front lately!  Small pendants just don't do it for me.  I like my jewelry big and bold.

I'm totally in love with the leaf one, but some of the other ones don't look as good in person as they did on the screen.  Will have to be judicial with my purchases from now on!

Monday, August 20, 2012

Donna Karan New York - Beige skirt suit:  $7.50
Gold mesh snake belt:  $3
Dynamite - Striped sleeveless top:  $3.50

All @ Talize.

Even though everything was half off today, I spent way too much here!  I really shouldn't have done that.  I could get much better deals at "real" thrift stores.

I thought the snake belt was a total rip off for the original price of $6, but it turns out they sell for $20+ on ebay!  Too bad one of the eyes fell out.

I ended up buying the clothing pictured because the fit was so flattering...and because the DKNY suit retailed for way more than I paid.

Forever 21 Twist - Lace blazer w/puffed sleeves:  $5
RW & Co - NWT Black fitted blazer:  $6.50

Both @ Talize.

I don't normally buy Forever 21 unless it's really cheap....this was totally overpriced, but I loved the design!  I didn't think I would see something like this again, so I grudgingly picked it up.

On the flip side, the blazer wasn't very unique, but it was fitted, new with tags, and nice quality.  I didn't like it that much, but thought I should add it to my business wardrobe.

Le Chateau - ruched pigskin leather jacket:  $10 (RSP:  $200+)
Mexx - Beige lambskin leather jacket:  $6.50 (RSP:  $300+)

Both @ Talize.

I have way too many leather jackets already, but these ones had such nice designs!  Both of them were flattering on.

I love the design of the beige one especially, but it really  needs to be cleaned.  I hope it'll clean up.  Worst comes to worst, I'll just have to dye it.

The other one doesn't really look used, but I wasn't sure about the colour.  I don't know if I'd ever wear it!  I don't normally like bright colours, but this is like a muted reddish pink.  I bought it anyway, I'll just make a point to wear it once in a while!

Saturday, August 18, 2012

Nicole Miller New York - Control top sheer lycra pantyhose:  $1 (RSP:  $4.99-$10)
Tiny floral print tights:  $1 (RSP:  $2.99+)
Patterned tights:  $1 (RSP:  $2.99+)
Hanro of Switzerland - black cotton panties:  $1 (RSP:  $14.99-$30 (!))
Blush - Carried Away - Polka dot hipster panties with garter straps:  $1 (RSP:  $3.99-$26)
Steve - Galloon - Taupe "cheeky" boyshorts:  $1 (RSP:  $2.99-$12)
Blush - Grey bra w/lace accents:  $2 (RSP:  $9.99-$20)
International Intimates - 2 pack pink lace thongs:  $1 (RSP:  $4.99-$10)

All @ Winners.

Well, this location was almost a bust.  Everything was still pricey, thank goodness I stumbled upon this section!  It wasn't even properly placed in the final clearance area, which is probably why I lucked out.

I would have left the black panties behind if it wasn't for their original price!  They seemed pretty basic, the quality and design didn't seem to warrant the price.

Turns out the company has been in business for 125 years....impressive.

They're made out of 100% cotton, but it's so smooth it doesn't feel like it!  Definitely a great find.  It goes for $36 new!

Funnily enough, just about all of the Winners tags show a much lower "compared to" price.  The blush panties were $18 off the mark!

Spitfire headphones:  $3 (RSP:  $16.99-$38)
MIA - Uptown girl - snakeskin shoes:  $5 (RSP:  $59.99-$100)

Sugar & Spice - green/blue bustier dress:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99-$39.99)
Stella Cruz - white knotted detail dress:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99-$39.99)

Hurley - Spence - black dress w/pockets:  $2 (RSP:  $16.99-$30+)
Sioni - knotted black top:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99-$36)

All @ Winners.

It's finally final clearance time!  I was surprised things were so low by this time already.  This is the first time I've checked out any of the stores since the sale began.

There was hardly anything left...I wonder how long I should wait to check out the other ones.

Those shoes are crazy!  I practically have to walk on my tiptoes when they're on, they're sky high!  I don't know if I'll ever wear them out, but I picked them up because I don't have any shoes like that...and I love snakeskin.

A picture of the Hurley dress on:

The headphones looked like they might be decent, so I picked them up too.  I wonder how the sound quality is.

The green/blue dress is just such a neat colour combination, and I love how the straps are styled at the back.

The knotted top was the first one I decided on - the detailing at the front is gorgeous!  I'd rather pay $2 for these things, but I doubt they'd be around if I waited any longer.

But they could have been...maybe I should have waited!
