Gold/white necklace:  $2.30 (BIN:  $8.99)
Frog ring:  $.99 (BIN:  $2.89)

Both off eBay.

They're both pretty cute, but I wish I spent less on the necklace - I've seen it go for less than half that price several times now!  What I spent doesn't seem to be the norm.

The frog ring is just precious!  It's got rhinestone eyes and everything.  I'd love to get one in white.

1963 Ash blonde bubble cut Barbie:  $1.99 @ Value Village

I actually saw another one at the same location a day ago, but I didn't want to pay $4 for it.  I don't know why, but for some reason I thought she was one of the repros and not worth much.

This one was $2 with another doll in the bag, so I decided to pick it up (after some thought)!  I gave away the other doll, but it's the principle of it..

She's going for anywhere from $10-$150 on eBay!  I don't know why there's such a range.  I've seen ones in the same condition go everywhere.

I just hope the one I passed up wasn't one of the pricier ones!  I think that one looked the same as this one...I'm sure it had the same haircut, but maybe a different hair colour.  I wish I bought her!

Red chiffon dress:  $2.50

Janice Young for Vanessa - Lace butterfly floor length slip:  $2

Both @ MCC Thrift Store

The first one was a no-brainer!  The skirt has such a gorgeous flounce to it, and I love how fitted it is.  The button up detailing is a nice addition.  I might get rid of those sleeves though...and possibly shorten it.

I'm a sucker for butterflies so the other one had to come home with me.  I wonder if it would be appropriate to wear outside?

Faeri - pink dress:  $2

Long peach dress w/chiffon coat:  $2

Both @ MCC Thrift store

The first pink dress is the other thing I came to the sale for.  I just think it's so cute!  It's made of a stiff, semi-sheer fabric I haven't seen before.

The back has chiffon roses:

It's way too small for me, but I just thought it was too lovely to pass up.

The other dress was an impulse buy as well.  $2.50 for both of those pieces was a steal!  I don't know if they're actually supposed to go together, but I could definitely see myself wearing both of them...separately.

Escada - Skirt suit:  $5 (RSP:  $2000!)

VALS - NWT Houndstooth  blouse:  $2.50 (RSP:  $69)
RKDHOUSK - Lace poet blouse:  $2

Jones New York - Red virgin wool skirt
Jiso - Black wool skirt
Fitting image petites - Green virgin wool skirt
French Laundry - NWT Silk pants (RSP:  $44)

All @ MCC Thrift Store

They had a half off sale today.  At first I didn't feel like coming, but now I'm glad I did.  I originally came for the Escada suit and the short pink dress in my other post - I really didn't think I'd find so much stuff!

Most of the stuff in this post is for work.  All of them are made of wool...the Escada is a wool/cashmere blend.  I don't know if that actual suit retailed for $2K, but most of their suits now retail for that much!

The poet blouse is so romantic!  I love the collar and all of the lace accents.

Perched birds ring:  $.99 (BIN price)
Rhinestone Superman ring:  $.93 (BIN:  $1.49+)
Gold armor ring:  $1.16 (BIN:  $2.16+)
Striped tube dress:  $2.31 / $2.31 (BIN:  $5.94-$15.76)

All off eBay.

I've started buying jewelry off there again....probably not a good idea, but they have so many great designs!

I'm really happy with the armor ring.  It's great quality and looks awesome.  Now I want them in other colours!

Nikon telephoto lens:  $150 (RSP:  $299)
Casual Contempo  - Brocade suit:  $10.50 @ Value Village

I only went to this VV because I was planning on meeting someone off of Craigslist to buy the lens.  It's in like new condition, the guy said he barely used it!  It came with everything and I paid less than half the price if you factor in taxes.

I wasn't sure about this suit because the pricing at this one was so stupidly high.  I ended up buying it because it was gorgeous, and unlike anything else I had.

I found even more pink suits that I wanted, but I didn't think they were worth $10.50 so I left them behind.

Sophisticate - Pink suit w/lace accents:  $5.60

Comet - Red eelskin chain strap purse:  $4.90
Capprino - Gold leather purse:  $5.60
All @ Value Village.

I'm glad I went here!  I was initially just going to go to one of them, but I decided to come here since I had the time.  Even though VV has horrendous prices, they do seem to get the best stuff...and the prices are somewhat reasonable on sales days.

It took me a while to decide on the purses, since they were visibly used.  The eelskin one wasn't so bad, so I decided to get it right away.

The leather one was worse!  There were visible scuffs, but worse, the lining had to be repaired!  I asked for a discount but they said they couldn't since it just came out today.  I bought it anyway since I love gold leather...I've been looking so long for a nice gold leather purse.

There were actually two suits I was considering, both of them pink!

This one as a no-brainer!  The design was gorgeous...I love the lace and all of those pretty buttons.  Not too fond of the top half, so I'll be customizing it later on.  The price was just what I wanted to pay!

The other one would have been $14, which just didn't seem worth it.  It's a common pleated skirt/gold button blazer combo, but they were both so fitted and lovely.

The light pink colour was just so dated though...nobody wears that anymore!  In the end, it was just the price that stopped me...I would have snatched it up if it was less than $10!

Vintage blue leather belt:  $2.40 @ Sisters Boutique

I just can't pass up a wide leather belt when the price is right.  I'm also a sucker for gold hardware, so this had to come home with me!

I've looked at this shop several times, but this is the first time I've bought anything from there.  They do have some nice stuff, but it's mostly modern....things I could buy new for not much more (or even  less!) than what they charge.

Vintage fitted beige wool coat:  $3

Quilted look bin/table:  $1

Both @ Angel Thrift Store.

Finally!  I've heard about this new thrift store for a while, but they don't have their hours listed.  Whenever I've gone, they've always been closed!  I finally managed to catch them open today.

I wanted that bin as soon as I saw it...there are some minor flaws, but you just can't beat that price!  After I hose it down I'll use it as a table.  It just looks so sophisticated!

I already have a ton of coats but I just had to get this one.  It's virgin wool, fitted, and so heavy!  I'm going to look great this winter...and for once, I won't be cold!

Alain Chabason - Striped blazer:  $5.60

Peter Nygard - leather "swacket:"  $28 (RSP:  $159)

Both @ Value Village.

I've never heard of the designer of the blazer, but since the fit was so flattering, and it was made in Paris, I bought it.  I'll bet it retailed for a lot more than $5!

The leather jacket was so overpriced, but I though the design was really neat.  I hate that the back isn't leather though..it's the same material as the sleeves.

I ended up buying it because I loved the front, and I assumed it retailed for way higher.

I was so disappointed to see I could buy it new (on sale) for around $60!  I wonder if I should return it.  It really should have been $20 or less considering it's used!

At least it still looks new...

Trussardi - Leather tote bag:  $4.90  (RSP:  $1000!)
Ivana (Trump) - Book purse:  $2.80
Eelskin change purse:  $1.40 (RSP:  $12..at least on eBay)

All @ Value Village.

I just have to go when it's a 30% off day, even though the deals still don't end up being that great.  I'm glad I did!

I knew the leather tote was great quality when I picked it up, but I never would have guess it retailed for that much.  It's too bad the resale value is significantly less...I'd be lucky to get $100 for it!  Seem like they don't really sell on eBay.

That's ok.  That's why I only buy stuff that I actually want for me....I loved the little dog clasp.  It's circular like an ouroboros.

I'm a sucker for neat purses so I had to buy the book one!  Even though it has a cord strap...I hate those, they look so cheap.

I'm also not that fond of the material, but it's ok for this purse.  I love the embroidery and the overall design.

I did some research and someone claims it was made for the shopping channel, and it was sold with her perfume...you can get these purses new on eBay for $16!

Funnily enough, I saw it AGAIN at the Salvation Army later that day!  Same price too (before the discount), but that one was in slightly better condition.  If it were cheaper, I'd probably have gotten it to make my own "library."

The eelskin change purse was the one I previously bragged about leaving behind.  It just felt so nice, and it was on sale...

Sleeveless chiffon dress:  $4.03 (BIN:  $7.88)
Button up bustier:  $3.58 / $3.66 (BIN:  $7.99)
Gold leaf belt:  $1.80 (BIN price)

All off eBay.

The dress was a disappointment.  It looks exactly like the picture, but the quality is so cheap!  It almost feels like costume quality....I wonder if I should complain.  I definitely wouldn't have bought it if I saw this in person.

The bustier is gorgeous, except I ended up with two.  Darn.

Belt is pretty, but a bit skinny.  I prefer the wider ones.  I'm sure I'll find a use for it.

Nine West - Thena flat:  $9.99 @ Value Village  (RSP:  $79)

I really wouldn't pay that much for a used shoe, but I bought these because they were leather, brand new, cute, and comfortable.

The colour is way off in my picture...the one in the link is pretty accurate though.

If they were even slightly worn I would have passed.  I've gotten new leather boots for $5...there's no way I'd pay twice that much for a used shoe.

These are my only ballerina flats.  I don't like how they curl up, but at least it's not as pronounced on.  They're not completely flat either, which is an added bonus.

There was an eelskin purse and change purse that I was eyeing, but I decided to leave them behind.  The pricing was just way too high, and I didn't really need the latter.

I've been thinking about money a lot these days...and how I should be saving it.  From now on my purchases are going to be a lot more judicial!  They have to be worth it, and it has to be something I'll actually be using.

Wing ear cuffs (gold and silver):  $1.89 for both
White corset belt:  $2.95 free with eBay bucks

All off eBay.

I've just found out about these cuffs recently!  I just find the look incredibly cool.  I've got a few more coming in the mail!

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Ruched dress w/ruffle front:  $6.29

Lace dress:  $6.29

Both off eBay.

They look like the pictures, but they're way too tight to wear as is....those models must be size 00 or less!  Definitely no more buying dresses from China unless I know they're big enough.

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Ribbed skirts:  $2 each @ Bluenotes (RSP:  $8)

I just can't say no to a $2 skirt that has some sort of design.  If they were completely plain I probably would have passed them up (several of them were).

It's hard to see in the picture, but there are three horizontal ribs, and the skirt zips up at the back.

Seductions...the same brand sold at Sirens.

They only had large left, and it was 5 minutes til closing....I thought they would fit so I bought them without trying them on.

I was right!  Most of their clothes are sized stupidly small....that, or I just don't like how tight their fit is.

Dark green wool princess coat:  $1 @ Kim's Village (RSP:  $24.99)

I really didn't think they'd have this sale again!  Next time I better ask if it's a regular occurrence...I'd sure like to be first in line when that comes around again!

Most people were stuffing garbage bags full of things  I'm glad I managed to find these gems.

I almost passed on this because I already have so many coats.  I decided to try it on, and I just couldn't put it back - it was so flattering!

It was fitted and so billowy at the bottom.  It really reminds me of the banana republic coat I bought a while back, including the gorgeous lining:

The shoulder pads have GOT to come out, then I'll have to alter the shoulders a bit....but it's well worth the buck!  I might change the buttons too.

Fur collar (RSP:  $14.99)
Chiffon/lace shorts (RSP:  $4.99)
Quilted clutch w/silver rose (RSP:  $2.99)

$1 each @ Kim's Village!

I'm so happy I was in the area today!  I found a lot of great stuff here.

I have no idea what kind of fur the stole is, it feels so luxurious!  The shorts are pretty and don't look worn...I just love the chiffon pleats at the bottom.

The clutch was kind of an afterthought.  It hasn't even been used - there's still tissue inside!  It's made out of a quilted faux suede and has a silver fabric flower on top....for the price, why not.

*edit*

Someone told me that the fur was probably chinchilla...score!  Those kind of fur collars are over $300 new!  It is definitely the best fur I've ever felt, so I'm inclined to believe it.

Too bad I kind of ruined it by washing it...it's not ruined per se, but the backing is a bit hard now.

Cream lace dress:  $2.50 @ MCC Thrift store

I've been eyeing this for a while but didn't want to pay full price.  It's not in mint condition, but it's alright for vintage.

The colours are way off, but it's actually cream with gold buttons.  It even laces up in the back!  I didn't bother to try it on, since I thought I could make it work one way or another.

Floppy wool hat:  $2 @ Icing (RSP:  $32)

I don't even know how to describe this hat....a wide brim fedora?

I don't know if I'll ever wear it, but I don't have any hats like this.  It reminds me of something a pimp would wear, so maybe it'll come out on Halloween.  It seemed worth it considering it's entirely made of wool.

Bandage tights:  $4.56 off eBay

That's a little more than I wanted to pay, but I was tired of waiting for a good deal.  I just love how they look!

Monday, July 9, 2012

Parasuco - Santana denim biker jacket:  $9.90 @ Value Village  (RSP:  $175, according to this!)

This jacket is insane!!  It's probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever found.  I didn't even know there was such a thing as a denim motorcycle jacket, and this one's probably the flashiest in existence.

Just look at these metal shoulder plates!

Gorgeous!  Reminds me of Versace over-the-topness.  Just look at the back...the collar is lined in faux leopard fur, and there's yet another metal plate:

Admittedly, the last plate is overkill.  I might even take it off.

Plus, the shoulders are horrible...the shoulder pads are definitely coming out, then I'll have to tailor the arms and shoulders smaller.

That's the 90's for ya!  This similarly styled one is from 1993, so this one was probably produced around the same time.

Shockingly, they wanted $18 for this thing!  I would never pay that, but since I had a 30% off pass....even then, it was kind of a ripoff!

The back plate was falling off so I asked if they could go down any further.  The guy gave me $5 off, plus I still got 30% off!  I was pretty happy about that.  $10 is more along the lines of what I wanted to pay.

Joe Fresh - babydoll trench coat:  $4.90 (RSP:  $59+)

Urban Behaviour - leather collection - biker jacket:  $10.50

Both @ Value Village.

I'm pretty happy with both of these!  Ever since I found the pink one, I've been hoping to find more Urban Behaviour leathers - the fit and style are just awesome!

I'm surprised this wasn't overpriced...it was the cheapest jacket on the wrack, and by far the best looking one!

Another surprise was the Joe Fresh trench.  I never thought to look there because the styles weren't that impressive and I assumed the quality was just average...as for pricing, I can get better stuff at Winners.

Anyhow, I thought it was vintage upon first feel!  The style certainly looks that way.  It's 100% cotton and surprisingly good quality.

It's from their 2008 Spring collection - I found a picture of a model sporting it:

I also came across one of their dresses...which was great quality as well.  I'm going to have to start paying attention the next time I go grocery shopping!

Christian Dior - red lapel wool blazer:  $5.60
Tristan & Iseut - Flared brown skirt:  $3.50

Both @ Value Village.

I don't normally buy things just based on labels, especially if I plan on reselling them.  A lot of them just have crap resale values.

Surprisingly, this applies to Dior!  I've seen a ton of auctions that ended around $5, which really isn't worth my time.

I picked up the above because I liked the red lapels and it was great quality.  It's too big for me though, I'm going to have to take it in.

Skirts were half off today, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to look.  The skirt's like new and I love how it flares out in such a flirty way.

There were some other skirts that I really liked but they were just way overpriced for used merchandise.

Ro-El  - leather box purse:  $4.80
Stylecraft - fur/leather clutch/wallet:  $2.10

Both @ Value Village.

Their 30% off pass was expiring soon so I just had to go.  Well, not like I ever need a reason to go...I've been itching to go this last little while!

I love classically designed purses, but I wasn't sure if the one above was leather.  There weren't any tags saying so, but I lifted up the back of the straps and it seemed so...and it felt like it was...but there are some good fakes!  Hopefully this isn't one of them.

I don't have many vintage purses of this colour since they tend to be really nasty.  This one was in great condition so I picked it up.  Plus, I really do think it's leather, and I love cream/gold combos!

I wasn't sure about the other one.  It was real leather, but I thought the fur was fake at first!  Until I saw it was still attached to the skin.  I have no idea what kind of fur it is, it's not very soft.

I ended up buying it because it can actually function as a clutch..it has a lot of roomy compartments inside.

Black lace dress:  $6.06 off eBay

As was the case for the white one...I've been trying to win this dress for over a year.

I remember bidding twice as much and still losing back then...I'm glad I was finally able to get one for a reasonable price.

Tuesday, July 3, 2012

Black lace halter dress:  $6.06 off eBay

The design is pretty, but it looks way cheaper in person...worst of all, the halter part is too short!

It's bizarre.  I didn't expect that...I can't even pull the ties up to my neck!

Sunday, July 1, 2012

Red cocktail dress:  $3.36 off eBay

This was an impulse dress that I probably shouldn't have bought.

It's pretty basic and I have dresses that are somewhat similar...but it was just so cheap!  I really didn't think I would win.
