Tee with ruffles in grey:  $2 (RSP:  $10)

Tee with ruffles in green:  $2 (RSP:  $10)

Over the knee boots:  $10 (RSP:  $49.99)

All @ Bluenotes

I usually don't bother to go to the mall on boxing day, but bluenotes had some 80% off deals I was hoping to catch.

I mostly just wanted the over the knee boots, so I was glad they had one in my size! Upon first glance I missed it so I'm glad I tried again.  I was ready to buy it online, but I thought I'd try to see if I could save myself the shipping.

They had the shirts in a light pink and oatmeal colour, but those turned out to be pretty see through!  Thank goodness I tried them on first.  These ones were thicker so they were ok.

For some reason, the price tag actually says $14.99 underneath!  I wonder if that was the original price.  It says $10 on the website.

The rest of the mall was a bust, but it was worth it for the boots!  I was hoping for some 80% off dresses at sirens, but none of them were that cheap.

I still want to check out other malls before the week is over, so here's hoping for cheap dresses!

Sheer ruffle camisoles:  $2.59 each @ Urban Planet (RSP:  $16.99 each)

Finally used a coupon here!  The sales aren't usually that great there, plus the clothing style is usually pretty immature.

But these were totally up my alley...pretty, feminine, and flirty.  I was so happy I got them for this price!  I found an official picture of the teal one:

They have a maroon one, a black one, and a white one, so I'm hoping I can get those too.  The black one:

There's a picture of a red one too, but I didn't see that one there:

They're just so pretty!

Side slit satin maxi skirt (RSP:  $49.90)
Layered palm print blouse (RSP:  $39.90)
Pastel ruffle blouse in lilac (RSP:  $39.90)
Pastel ruffle blouse in spearmint (RSP:  $39.90)

Mixed media pleated top in poppy pink (RSP:  $35.90)
Classic blouse (RSP:  $49.90)

All for $16.18 @ Ricki's

This was an amazing sale!!  Everything was priced so reasonably already, plus there was an additional 25% off everything.  To top it off, I even had a code!

Everything worked out to $2.31 each...a total steal.  I like everything better in person, except the maxi skirt ended up being too big.  Hopefully I can exchange it for a smaller size.

Navy ruffle maxi dress (RSP:  $15)
Red ruffle maxi dress (RSP:  $22.50)

$2.50 each @ Urban Behavior

What a great deal!  They had a $5 off $10 coupon at the time, so I got my brother to sign up for me.  I just wonder why they retailed for different prices...they're exactly the same!

Lottie & Holly - Band of gypsies - Boho top:  $3 (RSP:  $14.99 - $30)

Every location was worse than the last.  I'm thinking about going tomorrow, but I think everything will probably be gone by then...I guess we'll see.

Ruffled leggings:  $5.05 @ Aliexpress

I thought these looked so cool!  I didn't know if I could pull them off, but I wanted to try.

I first saw them on eBay for around $13...I definitely didn't want to pay that much.  Luckily aliexpress had me covered!

They're one size fits all, so I was a bit worried about them being too small.  Surprisingly, they do fit me, and they're comfortable!!  I didn't expect that.  They really stretch!

These were such a great buy!  I still don't know how to wear them, but we'll see how it goes.  They look like such a pretty skirt when you put your legs together.

Point Zero - Down blend jacket:  $11 (RSP:  $149.99 - ~$250)

Hue - Winter print sweater tights:  $1 (RSP:  $12.99 - $20)
Fur trim leather gloves:  $3 (RSP:  $39.99 - $72)
Elleven k - Cat face purse:  $1 (RSP:  $12.99 - $25+)
Memoi - Cashmere blend socks:  $.70 (RSP:  $9.99 - $30)

Dex - Blush pink skater dress:  $3 (RSP:  $29.99 - $50+)
Magicsuit by Miraclesuit - Fuchsia ruffle halter swim top:  $3 (RSP:  $39.99 - ~$118)

All @ Winners

Surprisingly, I got all of this stuff only an hour after the last time!  I really didn't expect them to mark things down so fast, but they did it twice in that time!  I'm so glad I decided to look again.

I was really excited about those gloves.  I've been eyeing them since they were $10!  I didn't want to pay that much, even though they were always in perfect condition.  These ones are ripped near the fur, but it's an easy fix.

$10 seemed more like regular price, especially considering that the fur isn't real.  It just didn't seem like much of a deal.

I was pretty happy about that dress too.  I loved the colour, but it was $9 when I first came.  I thought it'd go down to $5, so $3 was a nice surprise!

Ditto on the jacket.  I actually didn't even see it the first time around, but even if I had, I don't think I would have been tempted to pay $16 for it.

$11 was a steal!  Especially considering that it's filled with feathers.  The other puffer I have is just filled with polyfill.   If I knew it was this good, I might have been tempted to pay the $16, so luckily I didn't see it until then.

ZenB by Zenobia Bawa - NWT Olive green silk halter dress:  $4 (RSP:  $225+)
La Regale - Vintage glass beaded purse:  $2.50
Seduction - Ruffled floral dress:  $3

Beaded sleeveless top:  $3
Forever 21 -  Ruffled floral tank:  $3

All @ Value Village

I almost didn't come here today.  But I did, since I remembered that I almost always find great stuff when I make an effort to go!  This one's a bit farther away than the other ones I go to though, which is why I was hesitant.

The black top doesn't look like much, but it has a beautiful beaded design on it:

It's really great quality.  It even zips up from the bottom!  I wonder who the maker was.

Close up of the beaded purse:

Like I said, I'm all about the beads lately!  Beaded purses are pretty common second hand, but none of them have ever caught my eye until now.

I just liked the colours on this one...and the design.  Plus, the fact that the beads are made of glass..it just feels exquisite to touch.

Also, the chord is made of metal.  Most of the ones I've seen just use nylon.  I don't want any of the cheap quality ones, but I wouldn't mind more like this one!

The floral things are cheap mall quality, but I just really liked them.  $3 seemed like an alright price for them.

Spread your wings - Blue rose print maxi dress:  $3.50
Vicky Tiel - NWT Flutter sleeve wrap dress in ocean:  $6.50 (RSP:  $79.90)

Cache - contour collection - Fitted black dress with ruffled sleeveline and mandarin collar:  $6.50 (RSP:  $200+)
Morell Maxie - Ruched silk dress: $ 6.50 (RSP:  $320+)

All @ Value Village

I can't resist half off days!  Thankfully there was still something there for me, even though I ended up going late in the afternoon.  I kind of wish I had time to go to some other ones, but at least I found these gems.

The maxi dress was the first thing I found.  I'm just a sucker for maxi dresses, plus I thought the print was pretty neat.  I also liked the high collar, and the price was great (for Value Village at least!).  It looked new and it was made in the USA, so it probably retailed for around $100.

I found a pink version on eBay...they wanted $22 for it used, but it didn't sell.  The pink version is pretty cute, I would have picked it up too!  I even prefer it a little.

The second dress I picked up was the Vicky Tiel.  I actually saw it the week before, but it wasn't a must have because the style wasn't unique.  I didn't notice it was new with tags back then, otherwise I would have been tempted to buy it!

I really like her perfumes, which is one reason I wanted it.  But the clincher is, it looks wonderful on!  She has so many good reviews.  It was made for the shopping network...too bad, I thought it might have been something higher end than that!

Bodycon dresses aren't flattering on me, but I couldn't help but pick this cache one up.  It's so well made!  It's fitted everywhere, even though it wasn't necessary since it was so form fitting and stretchy.  The details are beautiful...I love the sleeves and the collar.  I don't see dresses like this all of the time, it was worth adding to my closet!

The silk one...well, I can't pass up beautiful silk.  The design is gorgeous, but I wish it was another colour.  Black just seems so plain...you can hardly make out the details on a dress like this due to the colour!

Galleria - NWT Light mint chiffon dress:  $14
Ice - Pink silk dress with rose detailing:  $9.10 (RSP:  $100+)

Tadashi Shoji - Black bandage dress with sheer sleeves:  $9.10 (RSP:  $300+)

All @ Value Village

The second one was somewhat nearby, I just had to go!  These dresses were so gorgeous, I couldn't leave them behind....I wish it was half off day!

I really loved the mint one, which is why I was willing to pay that much.  It did have tags on, but it seemed strange...the interior tags look vintage!  I wouldn't have questioned it, but it does have tags from Winners on it....at first I thought maybe someone just put them on there, but the size does match up.

I was unsure about the silk dress, but I thought I'd get it just in case.  I really do love a lot of the design elements, especially the rose straps!

The last one was a must have.  It's so sexy and well made!

Asymmetrical hem chiffon sequin and dress:  $7.50 (10 days)
Joseph Ribkoff - Ribbed Versace-esque military dress:  $6.50 (6 days)

UK2LA - NWT Ruffled cream chiffon dress:  $7.50 (13 days)
Quilted silver leather purse:  $2 (6 days)

A non flash picture so you can see the dress details better:

All @ Talize

The first two dresses were no-brainers!  I was so excited when I found them.  The sequin one looks like a figure skating dress, I love the asymmetrical hem!  There are no tags anywhere, so I wonder if someone made this.  I have nothing else like this, so I was really glad to find it.

Ditto on the Ribkoff dress.  There's a reason I always look out for that brand!  This is the best dress yet, it's so awesome!  It reminds me of Versace, it's studded and has lion head buttons.  It looks like it's never been worn!

The same dress actually sold for $120 here!  Crazy.

I wasn't sure about the last one.  I do like the style, but I already have so many similar ones now.  It still had the tags on, otherwise I would have left it for sure.

I almost didn't pick up the silver purse.  It is real leather, and it was so cheap!  It looked unused.  I used to be really big on the style, but I wasn't super keen on it today.

I thought I might regret leaving it behind though, so I picked it up anyway.

Morgan & Co - Ruffled champagne formal dress:  $17.50 @ Talize (RSP:  $35 - $240) (6 days)

I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this....well wait, I do.  I thought that it was so incredibly gorgeous, and I'd never find a dress like this for that low.

This is the actual colour, it's totally wrong in the non flash pictures:

That skirt is stunning, but the bodice is gorgeous too:

Close up of the lace detaiiling:

Almost makes me wish I had a prom to go to, or something!  I really don't see why I would ever need to wear a dress like this...but it's so beautiful, I just had to have it.

I don't think I've ever seen a gorgeous, modern dress like this at a thrift store...and the ones I have seen have been crazy high.  At least $50, and they were all very common looking.  This was something else!

I found one on ebay in a different colour...mine looks way better!

They say the retail price was $240, which totally shocked me.  Based on the quality, I thought it would have been $300+ for sure!  Even $400 wouldn't have been surprising.

Erote (A touch of green mint!) - Brown blazer with white cuffs and collars (RP:  $4.99+)
Rebecca Taylor - Ruffled high collar poet blouse (RP:  $4.99+)

Belle Mode - White and black pleated dress (RP:  $20 for the set)

Rouie - Black wool dress (RP: $9.99)
Sharre - Long grey lightweight coat (RP: $ 14.99)

$1 each @ Kim's Village

They haven't had one of these in a while!  I wasn't sure if I wanted to wake up early for it, but I ended up going.  I was the first one there!

The Rebecca Taylor blouse is my favourite find, it's so gorgeous!  It has a high neck collar and adds some modern accents to this victorian style blouse.

It's too small for me though...I'm going to have to do some alterations.  The style is just so great though, it'll be worth it.  The tag is all in Japanese, but I'm betting it'll hold up in the wash.

The others (besides Rouie and Rebecca Taylor) are Korean brands, but the dress is surprisingly good quality.  It's so heavy weight!  It actually came with a blazer, but since they started charging each piece separately, I left it behind.

I was unsure about the brown blazer, since it's not exceptional quality either.  But I just really liked the style, and the fit was great.  For $1, why not?  The label is super cute too.

The lightweight grey coat was a nice find.  I don't have many other light coats and this one looks great on.

I bought the wool dress to make into another lightweight coat.  It's pretty horrendous as is (plus totally oversized on me..and it has those horrid shoulder pads!), but I saw a lot of potential.  The sleeves are neat and the gathered draping skirt looks awesome.

I passed up a black Zara woman dress...I'm kicking myself now!  It was totally plain and the material wasn't great (polyester and rayon), but it was completely fitted.  I thought I had similar dresses at home, but when I checked they weren't as similar as I thought.

That one was really fitted!  I couldn't appreciate it because I didn't try it on properly.  On the small chance that it's still there tomorrow, I'll pick it up!

Warehouse - Beige ruffle and lace blouse (RP:  $6.99 - $60) (14 days)
Ruffled/gathered blouse (RP:  $3.99) (15 days)

$2 each @ Salvation Army

This one was so tiny and out of the way!  I wish I didn't go to this one, or at least I wish I didn't pass up the much bigger one that stupidly closed way earlier.  But I digress..

The lace blouse was so gorgeous, it was a no-brainer.  I love everything about it!  Turns out it's a brand from the UK, and judging by the pricing on their site, it was probably around $60.

I wasn't super crazy about the other one, but the style was really nice.  I figured I could use it for work.

I'm really annoyed that the tags were ripped out.  I wonder who made it?  The quality is pretty good.

Leather belt with snakeskin buckle closure:  $1.50 ()
Valentino Orlandi - Red leather bow clutch:  $5 (RSP:  $2000+) (18 days)
Moschinio tie:  $3.50 (3 days)
Paulith - Black leather belt with twisted metal accents:  $2 (18 days)

H&M - NWT Ruffle shoulder coral top:  $2.50 (RSP:  $29.95) (11 days)
Vintage pink ceramic cat coin bank:  $2.50 (3 days)

All @ Talize.

Score!!  I knew the purse was amazing quality when I felt how gorgeous the leather was.  Their purses retail for $2000+! It's hard to tell from the picture, but some of the panels are actually patent leather.

I actually wasn't super crazy about it, but since the design was interesting (and the quality was wonderful) I bought it.  The cashier totally thought it was underpriced, I saw her double checking the markings.

The Moschino was the last thing I found.  It was more than I wanted to pay, but I have a soft spot for that brand.  It's my first tie!  I thought the print was way too feminine for any guy to wear.

The H&M top...well, it was new with tags, my size, and I thought the style was really great.  I'm totally happy with it, what a great deal!

The piggy bank was just too cute to pass up.  If it's cute, vintage, and pink, I'm probably going to buy it.  I hesitated a bit because this was made in China (so I wasn't sure of its age), but it was cheap enough so I got it.

Le Chateau - Burnt orange satin halter top (RP:  $5.99) (6 days)
Vero moda - Off white ruffled halter top (RP:  $5.99) (15 days)

$.99 each @ Salvation Army

This location was so small and out of the way!  It was the first time I've been there, and I won't bother to go back again.

I did get these two tops though.  I hesitated since they weren't made of quality materials, but the design was gorgeous enough for me to get them.  They have a lot of nice details that are hard to see in the picture, like pleated sleavelines.

The $.99 cent event was great.  I hope they have more of them!

Zokai - Pleated lace sleeveless top (RP:  $3.99 - $6.99) (2-16 days?)
Kenzie - Black silk sleeveless top (RP:  $3.99) (14 days)

H&M - Pink ruffle top (RP:  $5.99) (13 days)

$1 each @ Salvation Army...the same one from the last post.

The first and third tops were must haves!  It was love at first sight when I saw them.

Weird thing about the first top though...I just noticed that it's marked as both a children's dress, and a women's blouse!  The dates are completely off too.  I guess I'll have to try it on to see which one's right...

Ok, a quick search confirms that it is for women afterall.  Whew!  I saw someone trying to sell one used for $20, so I'll assume it was somewhat pricey new.

The silk top was an afterthought, since I didn't know how it would fit.  It has some nice ruched details and it does zip up at the side, so it's not just a plain one.

Vince - Houndstooth blazer (RP: $6.99) (2 days) (RSP:  $350+!)
Be Smart - Fitted pleated bottom brocade blazer (RP:  $6.99) (21 days)

Ralph Lauren - Ruffled silk top (RP:  $7.99) (24 days)
Liz Claiborne - Ruffled silk top with cap sleeves (RP:  $3.99) (7 days)

$1 each @ Salvation Army....because the cashier was a little loopy.

This one was so small and out of the way, but I found some great things last time so I was excited to go back.  I wasn't disappointed!

The Vince blazer was the first thing I picked up.  I do have similar blazers, but this one fits the best!  I'm really going to have to do a purge here.

The brocade one...I was so happy when I found it!  It wasn't even in the right section.  I passed up a brocade blazer at the last garage sale I went to, hoping I would find a more fitted one...well, they don't come more fitted than this!

It also has such gorgeous pleating at the bottoms.  This is the back:

I wasn't sure about the tops, but since they were silk and ruffled, I thought I would give them a shot.  I might still return them, I'll have to try them on first.

Saturday, May 25, 2013

Liz Clairborne - Fitted red dress (RSP:  around $100)
Vintage embroidered button up dress

Alice Temperley for Target - Swiss Dot Tie-Front Top in Cloak Gray (RSP:  $29.99)
Simply Vera by Vera Wang - Jewel collar red/grey/beige top (or dress?) (RSP:  $40 - $70, depending on whether it's a top or a dress!)

All $1 each at another community garage sale!  Funnily enough, this was held across the street from the other one I went to today, and it was in a church!  I wonder if they were affiliated.

Anyway, I knew this one was going on too, which is why I made an effort to go.  They were both presumably huge and close to each other, so I thought it would be worth it.

It totally was!  I really need to keep an eye out for these kind of deals.  This one was particularly attractive since it was only about 3 minutes from my house.

This one had a pile type deal too.  It wasn't as big as the other one, so I'm glad I made the right choice and went to the other one first.

I really didn't think I'd find anything, but I was happily surprised.

The dress was the first thing I found.  It's kind of severe as a dress, but it makes a really sexy light coat!  It's really fitted and looks new, that was definitely the highlight from this lot.

The second thing I found was the vintage embroidered dress.  I wasn't sure about it at the time, but I'm really happy I got it now.  They don't make them like this anymore!  I might not even need to shorten it.

Then I found the Vera Wang top...it was deja vu!  I found the exact same top almost two weeks ago at Value Village.  It was $3.50 then, well, around $4 with tax.  I was somewhat interested but didn't think I liked it enough to pay that much.

That was the right choice!  I actually took a while to decide this time too, since I passed it up last time...but in the end, I thought it was cheap enough to buy it on a whim.

It actually looks really beautiful on!  I'm happy I got it.  I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a top, but it works as a dress too!  Even $3.50 would have been fine, but of course I would have been annoyed about finding it now!

The last top took me so long to decide, since I really don't like polka dots.  If it didn't have those dotted accents it would be a no-brainer.

Well, since it was for a good cause, I bought it anyway.  It would actually look really good on if it fit me!  That totally surprised me, since it was a medium.  I can barely get my arms through there!

I found a picture of how it looks on a model - it looks way better when the bow is left untied:

But...like the jeans, I'm sure they'll fit after my weight loss.  So I'll hold on to it for now.
