Pack of two kitchen towels:  $2
Rhinestone mirrors:  $1.25 each

All @ Dollarama

I haven't seen this pattern in a long time, so I had to snatch it up so I could have a pair.

Couldn't resist the mirrors...one of them is the same style I already have, but I bought it again because it was different.  The printing below was solid, whereas the other one was holographic...I thought this one was better.  For the price, why not?

Jakks Pacific -  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 48" Colossal Michelangelo figure:  $44 @ Walmart (RSP:  $89.96)

I was undecided about this.  I knew about it when it first came out, and thought it was pretty cool back  then.  But there was no way I was going to pay $100 for it.

Recently I randomly browsed the clearance section on walmart, and I saw him there for about half price.  That seemed pretty decent, but I was hoping for a better deal, especially since the last thing I bought there was 70% off.  I decided to watch it and see if it went any lower.

Well, I ended up getting tired of waiting, and I started getting worried that it would just be sold out.  I saw that the Leonardo was $150 at Toys r Us, so decided that the deal was good enough.  I've actually never seen this in person, so I don't think I could have gotten this otherwise.

I actually like the smile on the promo picture better:

I think the colour looks better there too.  But in person, I was so happy with him!  He makes a great display piece, but I don't think he's very fun for actual kids.  The legs don't move at all, plus it took a bit of efforts to move the arms at first.

The worst part is, he falls over if you move his arms forward!  I won't be doing that though, so it's not a problem for me.  He's such a fun display piece!

Here's the Leonardo:

If he went low enough, I'd probably get him too...but knowing Toys r us, I doubt that'll happen.  He'll probably go to half price, which would be $75, but that's nearly regular price at walmart!  I don't think I have room for two huge figures anyway.

Baroque print sequin dresses:  $7.50 each @ Sirens

I loved these ones too, so I had to come back for them.  I thought they'd be $15 each, but surprisingly, they were $10 each!!   I used a coupon to get them even cheaper, so I was really happy about that.

They have so many sequined things, it's hard not to pick them all up.  Maybe when they go on sale again, since this is supposed to be the last day.  There are a few more dresses I'd like to have, but I already picked up my favourites.

The black dress is pretty similar to the skirt I got from Forever 21..except that one cost more than twice the price!

It's much better quality though, the fabric is like a brocade.  Still, this one is completely sequined, and since it's half the price, I think it was a better deal overall.

Sequin dress:  $9.50 @ Sirens (RSP:  $29)

I love sequin dresses!  I admired this one ever since I saw it come out, so I was surprised it went on sale so quickly.

Well, it wasn't permanently on sale.  It was just half off for black friday, then I had a coupon.  I was totally fine with paying $10 for this dress, seeing as how I paid $16 for a skirt previously.

Annoyingly, they even have skirts similar to the ones I bought before!  They're completely sequined, so they're even better in that way.  I could have gotten them for $6!

I still might, if they go on sale again.  Here's hoping!

*edit*

Turns out this dress is sold at Urban Planet too, for the same price:

I'd really like to get this one:

I wouldn't mind this one either:

But that one's pretty low priority.  I don't like the colour combination as much as the turquoise one.

Crochet lace dresses:  $5 each @ Sirens (RSP:  $29 each)

So happy I managed to find the other colours!  This is the best quality lace dress I've ever seen at Sirens, and it looks so great on.

Bag of doll furniture:  $2.10
Eelskin boston bag:  $4.90
Silver clutch:  $5.60
Snakeskin clutch:  $5.60

All @ Value Village

Such a great haul today!  This location is usually overpriced, so this was a nice surprise.  Especially since I had a 30% off coupon from another location that was closing down.

The bottom two purses look nearly brand new, so I was happy about that.  The top one shows signs of use, but it still looks really great.  I loved the colour and everything, plus the price was right.

I actually saw the exact same bag in black a week or so ago.  I liked the style and everything then, but that one looked used.  Plus, it was around $10, and I didn't want to pay that.  This colour is way better anyway, so I'm glad it worked out.

I also saw a tan eelskin bag that looked almost exactly like this one, except it didn't have that tab in the middle:

It looked brand new, but I just didn't like the style.  On closer inspection, I also saw a cut in the leather near the bottom, so I'm glad I didn't buy it.  It only would have been $5.60 though.

Bag of doll accessories:  $1
Ceramic angel soap dispenser:  $2
Coach suede bag:  $5

All @ Bibles for Missions

This opened up somewhat recently, and today was my first time visiting.  Surprisingly, it's one of the best thrift stores I've ever been to!!  I was so shocked.

For one thing, the decor was lovely.  They had a lot of neat handmade signs that were so stylish and fun to look at.  Secondly, they had ALL of their pictures displayed on the wall...which was such a great idea, it made it so easy to see what they had.

Another thing was, it was so clean!  Everything was nicely displayed too, and everything I saw looked nearly new.  I don't remember seeing anything that looked very used, which is rare for a thrift store.

The best part was, that the prices were so reasonable!  I was surprised and happy when I found that coach purse, especially because it looks BRAND new.

Annoyingly, there ended up being soap left in that soap dispenser, and it got all over my bag!  I really hope that'll come out.

I wish I went here the first time I saw it.  Oh well, I'll make a point to come here from now on, whenever I'm in the area...which isn't often.

TMNT - Squirting bath pouf:  $2.98 @ Walmart.ca

This was full price...I normally don't like paying that, but I added it in to get free shipping for something else.

It ended up being so small in person!  Around half the size of a normal bath pouf.  I suppose it's for kids, but I think a regular sized one would have suited them just fine!  I would have felt better paying $2 for it, or $1.50 after seeing how small it actually was.

It is cute though, so I'll probably keep it.  I haven't seen them in person, and they're sold out online now, so I don't think I can get it otherwise.

They showed a picture of a Raphael one too, but they didn't give you a choice.

I kind of would have preferred that one!  Or  a Michelangelo if they had one.

I saw an all cloth version of them, but they look a little cheap and ugly to me.

I wouldn't have been tempted by those at all!

Sofcomfort - Memory foam insoles:  $3 (RSP:  $10+)
Goody - Gelous travel set:  $3 (RSP:  $10+)
B2Fashions - Set of 5 makeup bags:  $2.50
Pink applicator set:  $1.50
Rhinestone mirrors:  $1.25 each

All @ Dollarama

So glad I came to this one!  It's out of the way, so I guess it's not as picked over.  I saw a bunch of things I haven't seen at other locations, so I had to buy them.

Aldo - Giraffe print calf hair clutch:  $2.38 (!) (RSP:  $60+)
Funko - Adventure Time tin tastic set:  $3.75 (RSP:  $10+)

Both @ Share'd

I was so surprised to see this Adventure time set!  That store gets toys quite often, but not things like this.

I had been looking for him after finding that Jake a while back...but those ones were only $3!  I didn't really want to pay more than that, but I did because it's not very likely I'll find him at Dollarama.  I've been looking everywhere, and I haven't seen him once.

I felt better after seeing how cheap the clutch was!  It ended up being half price, which was quite the steal.  I didn't even know until I was at the cash register, so it was a happy surprise.

Sequin flap skirts:  $2.50 each @ Sirens (RSP:  $22 each)

What a great deal!  I've seen these for a while, so I'm glad I waited until now to get them.  They are so pretty on.

Teal crochet lace dress:  $5 @ Sirens (RSP:  $27)

This lace is higher quality than the ones they usually have, so it was a no-brainer.  I love the colour too!

I just wish it wasn't so small...it feels 2 sizes smaller than it is!

Goody - Gelous tiger print brush:  $3 (RSP:  $13.99)
Goody - Gelous pink camo print brush:  $3 (RSP:  $13.99)
Rhinestone leopard compact mirror:  $1.25
Minnie Mouse - 2 pack ankle socks:  $1.25

Live Clean - Clay masques x 4:  $3 each (RSP:  $20 each)

All @ Dollarama

I liked that mask so much, I wanted to stock up the next time I came back.  I couldn't find them anywhere else, so luckily they still had some here.  I might even buy more if I find them again!  I've been using them every day, and I do think they make a difference.

I don't know how long those brushes have been there, but I just noticed them now.  I thought they were so gorgeous, and the gel handle really makes them easy to hold.

They also had a blue version of the pink brush, and I thought that one was really beautiful.  But they only had a tiny travel size version of it, and I didn't think that was worth $3.

I want to check out the other ones to see if they have more of these brushes.  They're so pretty, I wouldn't mind having a variety of them.  It'd be nice to have a complete set too!

They had even more Minnie Mouse socks than last time, I left about 5 other types behind.  I might end up buying them if I see them in the future.

Secret deluxe shaping panty: $1 @ Walmart.ca (RSP:  $9.97)

I was actually surprised this came.  It was on backorder for more than two weeks, and this is the first time one has ever come!

Surprisingly, it also came with a shampoo/conditioner sample.  I really wonder how they choose which packages get these...I rarely do, even when I spend much more than this!

Sunday, November 15, 2015

Damask kitchen towel:  $2
Pearl stickers:  $2
Rhinestone stickers:  $1.25
Pure & Natural - Mint and Rosemary shampoo:  $2
Lori - Rhinestone lip print compact:  $1.25

All @ Dollarama

I'm a sucker for damask.  I wish both of them were that print, but the second one is a plain black.  Oh well, still usable.  I'll be on the lookout for another one, since I would like to have an actual set of them.

I see those cheap compacts all of the time, but I've never been tempted to buy any.  I just thought this style was cute, and I guess I'm really into bling lately.

Melissa & Doug - Giant plush giraffe:  $9.99 @ Value Village (RSP:  $99.99)

I don't normally buy plushes, but this one caught my eye.  It's huge, and realistic!  I'm a sucker for huge display pieces.

Plus, it was only $10!!!  I was so shocked.  I guess plushes are still pretty reasonably priced.  I wouldn't have been surprised if this was $20 there, that even seems like a decent price considering the quality.

The only problem was, I was far away from home and taking transit...plus it was raining so hard!  In the end, I thought it was worth it, even though getting it home was an ordeal.  This thing is 4 feet tall, and I hauled it around for almost two hours!

I'm planning on putting all of my belts on it.  I think it'll look great!  A piece of furniture for $10 is a no-brainer.

I actually think that the retail price of $100 is more than fair.  This is probably the most well made plush I've ever seen!  Some smaller plushes go for $20-$30 already, and this one is way better than those ones.

They have some other giant realistic plushes that I'd love to get my hands on.  The tiger, which retails for $79.99:

The leopard, which also retails for $89.99:

Hopefully I'll find those someday too!  I might even consider paying retail for them if I see them somewhere.

I guess it depends on if I have enough space too...they're huge!  I'd love to have one lounging on my couch or bed, that would make a great statement piece.

Juicy Couture - Leather jewel clutch:  $9.99
Kurhn doll:  $3.99

Both @ Value Village

Just found out that this location is closing down.  Too bad, I've found a lot of good stuff there recently!

I was really excited about the Juicy Couture clutch.  I'm pretty sure it's real, and the details are gorgeous!  The leather is quite nice too.  There's some wear, but it'll look great after a cleaning.

I just love that big jewel, and the rhinestone bows on the side.   Those look completely new, thank goodness, or the bag could have looked pretty used.

I'm surprised the price was so reasonable.  They usually price Juicy stuff ridiculously high, so I don't know why this one wasn't.  It's usually the gaudy velvet stuff that I would never buy, so I'm ok with that.  The retail price was probably around $250.

I found a purse from the same collection..same gold leather and gem details:

Then the exact same Jewel style in a bowler bag:

I don't think either of those look very nice, but the style does look good as a smaller bowler bag:

It's in burgundy too!

But, I think it looks best as a clutch.  Found the exact same style I got in black:

I didn't really want to pay that much for the Kurhn doll, but I was already surprised to find it in the first place.  I got a clone a while back, and I did want a real one...I don't know if I'll ever find one again, so I had to get it.

Pig scrub brush:  $1.25 @ Dollarama

I saw this for a long time, it was around when I bought my rubber ducky scrubber.  I didn't think I'd need this one, so I didn't want it back then.

A while later, I thought I could use one for scrubbing food.  All of the ones I had found had wonky eyes or other problems though, so I held out until I found one in better condition.  It's finally happened!

Sylvanian families lot of 10 1:  $2.29 (!)
Sylvanian familes lot of 10 2:  $4.58

Sylvanian families lot of 10 3:  $2.29 (again!)

All off eBay.

I love these guys, but they're just too pricey for what they are.  They retail for around $5 each, but you normally have to pay $25-$30 for a set of them.

I ended up looking them up on ebay just on a whim, and I was surprised to see these!  I didn't think they'd end so cheaply, but I'm glad they did.

I'm pretty sure they're real, they are definitely the same quality!  They're just nude and most don't have tails...but for over 90% off, that's fine!

Also got this set for $3.25:

Those are definitely real.  They have the sticker, and they're wearing an official dress!

Mirrored tray:  $2.50
Cat statue: $3

Both @ Salvation Army

At a location three hours away from me!  I was glad to see there were so many thrift stores around.  I wish I could have gone to the Value Village in that city too, but it didn't work out.

I was surprised these were so reasonably priced, because a lot of things in that store were priced kind of high.

I wasn't sure about the statue...I liked it a lot, but it's broken!  There used to be some sort of plate there:

It's ceramic, so I don't know if I can break the rest off cleanly.  I'll either put another plate there, or leave it as is, depending on how it looks.  Well, for $3, I thought it was worth a shot!  This thing is pretty big, around 16 inches tall.

Minnie Mouse - 2 pairs bow ankle socks:  $1.50
Minnie Mouse - 2 pairs printed ankle socks:  $1.50
Live Clean - Clay mask (RSP:  $20+!)
Rhinestone stickers:  $1.25

All @ Dollarama

I was so happy!  I was thinking about buying those socks at walmart when they were $3...now I'm really glad I didn't.  I never thought I'd find them here for full price!  I think regular price was around $5.

I saw the mask, and had never heard of the company before.  But since it was organic and plant based, I thought it was worth buying.  It felt high quality from the packaging, but I was thinking that the retail would be around $13...I was shocked to find out it was actually $20!  I saw one place selling it for $21.50.

It actually works pretty well, so I'm definitely going to stock up if I see them again.  That kind of seems like a big if though.

Hello Kitty lip gloss set:  $3 (RSP:  ~$12.99)
Mini pink bathtub:  $1.25

Both @ Dollarama

There were only two left when I went today, so I had to get this other Hello Kitty set too.  I actually like this bag way better, but I had no use for lip gloss made in China.

I thought the price was worth it for the bag alone, so I ended up getting it anyway.  I've seen similar ones sell for $10+!

I bought the tub to hold my bathroom cleaning stuff.  Since my scrubber is a rubber ducky, I thought it was fitting.  I really like how it looks all together.

Striped Criss-Cross Maxi Dress (RSP:  $69.90)
Boho Print Woven Maxi Skirt (RSP:  $49.90)
Watercolour Blouson Maxi Dress (RSP:  $69.90)

Tab Sleeve Open Cover Up in Indigo (RSP:  $39.90)
Snake Skin Accent Sunglasses (RSP:  $14.90)

All for $17.95 @ Ricki's

Pretty happy with everything here.  I have a lot of sunglasses, but I really liked the snake print accent.

Side slit satin maxi skirt (RSP:  $49.90)
Layered palm print blouse (RSP:  $39.90)
Pastel ruffle blouse in lilac (RSP:  $39.90)
Pastel ruffle blouse in spearmint (RSP:  $39.90)

Mixed media pleated top in periwinkle(RSP:  $35.90)
Mixed media pleated top in poppy pink (RSP:  $35.90)
Classic blouse (RSP:  $49.90)

All for $16.18 @ Ricki's

This was an amazing sale!!  Everything was priced so reasonably already, plus there was an additional 25% off everything.  To top it off, I even had a code!

Everything worked out to $2.31 each...a total steal.  I like everything better in person, except the maxi skirt ended up being too big.  Hopefully I can exchange it for a smaller size.

Athletic works - Coral hoodie:  $3 (RSP: $15)
Krista - White crochet cover up:  $3 (RSP:  $22)

G21 - Velvet flat (purple):  $2 (RSP:  $12)
Pleated flat:  $2 (RSP:  $15)

All @ Walmart

Most of them are off the website, which is why some of the pictures are tiny.  I'm way too lazy to get them out and photograph them.  I also got some black snake print pants, but I can't find a picture of those at all.

I ended up buying the first pair of slip ons in gold and white as well, but I gave half of them away. They were just way too small.  I'm glad I sized up just in case for one of the pairs.

4 sided pedicure paddle:  $1.25
Hello Kitty cosmetic set with makeup bag:  $3 (RSP:  ~$12.99)

Both @ Dollarama.

I saw the same kind of brush at Forever 21 for $1.90, but I'm glad I didn't buy it there.  This one's way nicer!

I had seen the Hello Kitty set for around a month, and I was always sort of tempted but never bought it until now.  Stock was almost out, so  I decided I better hurry up and get it before it's too late.  Turns out it retailed for around $13 Canadian!

There was a lip gloss set in the same bag, but the nail polish is more useful to me.

Purple gem necklace:  $2.20
Beige gem necklace:  $2.25
Dried flower pendant:  $.15 (BIN:  $1.88+)

Audrey Hepburn locket bracelet:  $.99 (BIN:  $1.99)
White lace floral hat:  $1.99
Denim lace floral hat:  $1.99

All off eBay.

Tuesday, November 3, 2015

Gold snakeskin clutch:  $5.99
Bag of compacts:  $5.99
Bag of vintage wrapping paper:  $1.99

All @ Value Village

The wrapping paper was an impulse buy.  I thought the graphics were so cute on that top one!  I skimmed through it, and saw a few more I liked...the pink one, and the vintage wedding ones:

Sadly, half of them ended up smelling like stale smoke, so I might not keep them all.  I don't know how easy it is to get smoke out of paper!

The compacts were from another Value Village.  I really only wanted the Sailor Moon locket, but it came in a bag of Polly Pocket compacts.  The price was higher than I wanted to pay, but I thought it was worth it because those compacts are pretty neat.

I've always liked the idea of it, but never really got into it because I thought the figures inside were ugly.

Well, all but one of these are complete!  I was so surprised, there were some really tiny pieces in there...like a tutu and sprinkle sized decorations.  This kid really took care of her stuff!

It turns out that complete sets can go for $30+, so this was a great buy!  One of them is a knockoff I've never heard of, but even those sell for a decent price.  I don't think I'll sell them though...I do think they're quite neat.

The doll was cute and mod, but I couldn't find any markings on it.  Too bad, it's nice quality!  I would have liked to find out more about it.

Samples from Samplesource.  These are usually so popular, they go in hours!  I missed the last few, so I'm glad I was able to get this one.
