Beige crochet bodycon dress (RSP:  $20)
Navy crochet bodycon dress (RSP:  $20)

Peach ruffle maxi dress (RSP:  $15)
Burgundy crochet bodycon dress (RSP:  $20)

$5 each @ Urban Behavior

These were $10 each the last time I checked!  Now I'm wondering if everything would have scanned in the right price anyway.  These are kind of basic, but they were definitely worth $5 each to me.

They also had a black crochet dress, but that one seemed kind of ordinary to me.  I have a ton of black dresses, and I don't think they're that flattering on me!

Ceramic unicorn:  $14.99 @ Value Village

This was way more than I wanted to pay, but I thought it was so neat!  Ceramics this size often go for around $10 at Value Village...sometimes I've seen them as low as $5.  This is unprecedented!

But, you don't see a giant unicorn everyday.  It's about two feet long and a foot and a half tall.  I don't see anything similar on the internet!

I'm glad I bought it now, but I was undecided in the store.  It looks great from this angle, but I thought it was ugly from all of the other ones!  The face/head region was weird...it looks like a goat at times.  And I'm not really digging that chin hair.

But seeing it all decked out, I'm sure I made the right decision.  It's completely hollow too, so it was easy to carry around.  Inside it says "Italy, 34/40."  I wonder where the other 39 are?

Curtain rod:  $1.50 @ Dollarama
Wrapping paper:  $.50 each @ Michael's (RSP:  $1.50+)

The wrapping paper was an impulse buy.  I saw them in the $.50 bin, and that just seemed too good of a deal to pass up!

They scanned in at $1.50 each, which is already pretty reasonable...so I wonder if that was already the sale price.

Thankfully the cashier gave it to me for the lower price.  Now I wish I bought way more, because I had a great idea to use them as wallpaper!  I don't think I have enough as is.

Multicolour jumpsuit (RSP:  $29)
Grey chiffon maxi dress (RSP:  $52)
Leopard chiffon maxi dress (RSP:  $52)

One shoulder gem encrusted evening dress (RSP:  $89)
White lace back halter dress (RSP:  $89)
Black V neck dress (RSP:  $32)

$5 each @ Urban Behavior

Except the jumpsuit, which scanned in at only $1!!  These dresses are gorgeous, and way higher quality than the other dresses that normally go on sale this low.  I was so happy when I got them!

My favourite is the leopard dress, I've been eyeing that for a while!  The first time I tried to buy it was less than a week before...and it scanned in at $26!  This is a huge difference.

The style is so neat.  It's actually a high low romper!  I don't have anything like that.  It looks so good on!

The black dress doesn't look like much, but it has a small V in the middle.  It also came with a cool gold studded plate belt (not pictured), so it was worth that price for me.

Teal peplum top (RSP:  $12)
Blue peplum top with gold plate (RSP:  $15)
Red peplum top with gold plate (RSP:  $15)
Lace bodysuit (RSP:  $10)

Black sweatpants (RSP:  $18)
Grey capri sweatpants (RSP:  $14.50)
Beige capri sweatpants (RSP:  $14.50)

$1 each (!) @ Urban Behavior

I was so shocked when I saw these today!  They normally have really skimpy basics on the $1 rack, so these were a great buy.  Later on I saw those peplum tops on the 2 for $10 rack, so I'm happy I managed to get them for this price!

Navy ruffle maxi dress (RSP:  $15)
Red ruffle maxi dress (RSP:  $22.50)

$2.50 each @ Urban Behavior

What a great deal!  They had a $5 off $10 coupon at the time, so I got my brother to sign up for me.  I just wonder why they retailed for different prices...they're exactly the same!

Band of gypsies- Printed romper:  $1 (RSP:  $24.99 - $50)
Lottie & Holly - Band of gypsies - Boho top:  $3 (RSP:  $14.99 - $30)

Both @ Winners

Every location was worse than the last.  I'm thinking about going tomorrow, but I think everything will probably be gone by then...I guess we'll see.

WOW Couture - Black halter bandage bodycon dress:  $3 (RSP:  $34.99 - $68+)
Rebellion - Crochet fringe top:  $3 (RSP:  $29.99 - $50)
Mustard seed - Pastel dress:  $1 (RSP:  $19.99 - $40)

All @ Winners

This one had even less than the first one, so I'm glad I managed to find anything at all.  I actually saw the first dress for $5 at another Winners, but it was too small.  On a model:

They have it in a few other colours too, but I didn't see them there.

WOW Couture:  Multicolor bandage dress:  $8 (RSP:  $34.99 - $68+)
Monteau - Hot pink scuba bodycon dress:  $1 (RSP:  $24.99 - $48)
Danity - Pink lace dress:  $3 (RSP:  $39.99 - $80)

Willow & Clay - Lace/sequin dress:  $3 (RSP:  $29.99 - $50)
Lapis - Midi skirt:  $1 (RSP:  $29.99 - $50)
Breeze ever - Crochet pants:  $5 (RSP:  $29.99+)

Monteau - Grey bodysuit:  $1 ($19.99 - $40)
Hotel Balfour - Thick acrylic soap dish:  $.70 (RSP:  $14.99 - $24)
Sea gypsies - Skeleton tank:  $2 (RSP:  $14.99 - $30)

All @ Winners

It's that time again!  Too bad the schedules seem to change from year to year.  There was basically nothing left at some of the ones I went to, but I'm just glad I didn't miss it entirely like last time.

I'm really happy about that bandage dress.  I've always wanted to find a Herve leger dress secondhand, but this will do for now.  The one I bought is very similar to this one:

I've seen that dress for $80+!  It's actually quite nice quality, so I wonder how much better the $1000 ones are.

Striped maxi dresses:  $5 each @ Bluenotes (RSP:  $10 each)

I was always tempted to buy these at full price.  They were just so reasonable for full price!  For most stores, that's the sale price.

Anyway, I was sure they'd go on sale someday, so I'm happy I waited.  I just hope the plaid one I was eyeing goes on sale soon!

Cat stickers:  $1 each @ Dollarama

I couldn't resist looking since I saw so many cute ones at the last store.  I'm hoping this doesn't turn into an addiction!

Saturday, August 22, 2015

Teddy bear stickers:  $1
Dog stickers:  $1
Duck tape - Scottie dog print tape:  $2 (RSP:  ~$5)
Red owl vases:  $3 each

All @ Dollarama

Since I bought a planner for next year, I wanted to have some cute little stickers to use in them.  I never checked that section before, so I wonder what else they've had in the past...the were a lot better than I expected!

I've seen those red vases there for a while, and they're really nice quality.  They'd easily be $13+ at any other store.  You could definitely tell that they weren't made for Dollarama.

I waited about two weeks, so I'm surprised that they still had so many left!  I didn't buy them earlier because I prefer vintage vases, and because I didn't think I'd use them for anything.

Well, I recently made some shelves using some wood I got for free, and I thought these would look great holding them up.  If I find some in other colours, I might get those too!

Tights (RSP:  $8.50)
Blue lace trim shirt (RSP:  $8)
Yellow lace trim shirt (RSP:  $8)

Turquoise ribbed shirt (RSP:  $8)
Striped front pocket shirt (RSP:  $10)

$1 each @ Urban Behavior

I wish I could come here more often!  They do have pretty good deals often.  I just wish it wasn't such a sty...and the lineups are so long!

The other annoying thing is, the signage was totally wrong the time I came here.  But at least these ones were right.

Freebies from Chapmans, from playing their games.

Ikea Ung Drill frame:  $5 (RSP:  $19.99 - $39.99)

Found it on craigslist...I'm pretty sure it used to be a mirror, but mine is completely empty.  If I want to use it as a frame, I'll need my own glass and backing.

I want to make it a mirror again, so I'll be on the lookout for a free one that size!

I have no idea why, but the price is so much more on the US site!!  Literally twice the price, and it is the same size.  I guess the price fluctuates.

On the Canadian site, the frame is $5 more than the mirror one...I don't see why.

The frame is very pretty, and way bigger than I thought.  I'm happy for the price I paid!  I'd even buy more if I find more this cheap.

For now, I'm planning on making a baroque wall furnishing set like this:

I'm planning on using these three pieces I found at Value Village.  It's going to look great!

Blue tulip hem dress:  $5 @ Sirens (RSP:  $22.50)

Almost bought some flats too, but they ended up being more than I thought.  They were supposed to be 70% off the LAST price, but at the till they said it was off the regular price.

Not worth it in that case, but I'm glad I came away with this gorgeous dress.  It's not much on the rack, but it looks so good on!

A freebie from Willowbrook...they only had one for the first 40 people, but since it was valued at $33, it was worth coming for!  I called first just to be sure.

It includes this lavender roll on (retails for $22.95!),  this rose lip balm (retail $4.95), and this rejuvenating body lotion (retail $3.95).

Which means they valued that bag at $1 :P.  It's actually nicer than I thought..it zips up and the material is better than a reusable bag.

Ceramic poodle:  $1.99 @ Salvation army

They've been jacking up the prices here too...it's just sad.  This was overpriced too, considering how tiny it is...but it was so cute I just had to have it.

It definitely would have been $1 or less at a more reasonable store!  There's no markings on it, but it looks vintage and Japanese.  It reminds me of this Bradley dog:

Same collar and everything!  Hmm, I wonder if mine is actually the baby on the right?  Looking at closer pictures I'm sure it is...the mold looks exact, except almost all of the facial details are gone on mine.

Senpo musical doll:  $5.99
Vintage Japanese ceramic pixie planter:  $3.99

Both @ Value Village

And both more than I wanted to pay!  I was seriously disgusted at the pricing I saw today.  Almost everything was TWICE the price they normally charge!  I've noticed this at every location I've visited lately, so it's pretty disturbing.

These were more like their old pricing, but they have been half that price at times.  I hope it doesn't get any higher than this!

I was unsure about the Bradley type doll.  I love how she looks, but this one was in really dirty condition!  And you can't really clean them...I've heard that they can disintegrate when you try!  Here's one in perfect condition:

This was musical,  but sadly mine doesn't work.  It's also missing the wind up mechanism.   I've seen people sell working ones for $50-$60, so $6 is an ok price for one in this condition.

Mini planner:  $1.50
Scented drawer liners:  $3
2 x Damask adhesive liners:  $2.50 each

All @ Dollarama

They didn't have a good planner for this year, so I was happy they offered one for next year.  It's not as nice as my last one though, which was only $.50 more.

The scented drawer liners just looked so nice!  It's manufactured by them, but it looked and felt like any of the ones you'd find at  a place like winners.  A lot of those are $15+ so this felt like a good deal.

I bought one of the damask liners a while back, but wasn't sure if I needed any more.  Well, when I did they were all sold out!  I looked everywhere and only saw new designs, so I thought they had retired that pattern.  So I had to snatch these up when I saw them today!

I'm planning on covering my bed frame with it, but I wonder if 3 will be enough.  I guess we'll see!

Elephant teapot x 3:  $9.95 each
Huruku fabric shower curtain - blue bird print:  $11.95 (RSP:  $24.95+)

Perched bird glass bottles (regular):  3 x $2.95 (RSP:  $6.95)
Perched bird glass bottles (skinny):  3 x $3.59 (RSP:  $7.95)

Hotel fabric shower curtain liner - moss and navy:  $4.95 each (RSP:  $9.95)
Georgia Fabric Shower Curtain Collection - taffeta shower curtain:  $14.95 (RSP:  $49.95)

All @ Linen Chest

I was looking for an elephant tea pot, and I came across this store.  There was another store that had it for the same price, but both of them had expensive shipping costs.

This one had free shipping over $75, and I happened to find enough stuff I wanted.  I've never heard of this store before, but they actually have a ton of them on the other side of the country!  Too bad they're not here, they have a lot of good stuff.

Their regular price is already a pretty good deal from what I've found.  Some people are charging $20-$30 for one elephant teapot, plus shipping!  I've seen those bird jars for $10 each, and that taffeta shower curtain for almost $100!

It did take them kind of long to ship out, but with savings like that I don't mind waiting a little.

I even got an extra 10% off the prices above for signing up for their newsletter!  I saved over $20 if you factor in the free shipping, so I'm glad I bought everything.

George Women's Printed Bathrobe - Pink plaid (RSP:  $19)
George Women's Printed Bathrobe - Cream:  $3 (RSP:  $19)
G21 Womens Tank and Shorts Pyjama Set: $3 (RSP: $12)

George Women's Crewneck T-Shirt - Pink floral: $3 (RSP:  $7)
George Smock Tube Dress:  $3 (RSP:  $10)

All @ Walmart.ca

I wasn't sure if any of these were going to come, since there have been mass cancellations lately!

I'm happiest about the robes.  They're pretty nice and plush, so a great deal for the price.

The floral shirt didn't seem like a very good deal in comparison, but I really liked the print so I got it anyway. The fit isn't very flattering on the mannequin, but I sized way down for a tighter fit.

Chandelier:  $5

8 Wall sconces:  $1 each

All off craigslist.  I only wanted the chandelier, but the seller decided she didn't want to split up the lot.  Considering how cheap it was, I complied!

It actually ended up being a lot bigger than I thought, so I don't know if I can actually use the chandelier.

Still, it was such a great price!  I'm still surprised.  I've never seen any that cheap before, and they look pretty good still.

I was thinking I might use the sconces as hooks, but I'd take off all of those ugly lamp shades first.  Worst comes to worst, I'll just be out $13 if I donate everything.

Ceramic elephant plant stand:  $10

Got this off of Craigslist.  The seller stopped replying for a long while, and suddenly contacted me out of the blue....the other elephant I was looking to buy fell through, so I was happy to get this one.

It was bigger than I expected, so that made me really happy.  It's about 18 inches long and 17.5 inches tall, contrary to the 14 x 16 inches he quoted me.

This is the one I really wanted:

It's the most beautifully carved elephant stand I've seen so far!  But the seller said it was only about a foot long and a foot high, which is way smaller than I thought from the picture...it looked huge there!  I was intending to use it as a table, and that would have been too small.

They wanted $30, but it didn't feel worth it since it was kind of small.  I took a long time to make a decision, and they ended up deciding to keep it.

I wonder if it was actually bigger than they said!  They didn't have it in hand so they couldn't give me exact measurements.  Now I kind of wish I bought it, or at least saw it in person...it could have been the right size!

That one was like a work of art, whereas the one I got was kind of kitschy.  I am planning on painting it pink, and I do think it'll be really cute after...but I'll always wonder about that other one!

Funnily enough, I actually saw two elephant stands at Value Village today!  The first time I've ever seen them secondhand.  They were $25 each, and they had a London Drugs sticker on them.  I didn't want to pay that much for them, plus I'd rather have a vintage one.

They kind of looked like these ones, except brown and with trunks up.  Not the same sculpt, but a similar look:

It was an ok sculpt, certainly better than others I've seen....but I just didn't find it very charming.  It was a lot bigger than the other ones though - nearly two feet tall both ways!

Moshino stitched blazer:  $14.99 @ Value Village

I don't know what it is with this location!  I've found so many Moschino blazers here, it's uncanny. This one looks pretty modern too, and the lining has a neat print:

You can't really see it unless you zoom in, but this blazer has very defined stitches all over.  I didn't think I'd like it, but you can't really notice anything but the great tailoring when you have it on.

Plaster cherub wall sconces:  $2.99 each
Gold wall shelf:  $2.99 each

All @ Value Village

I was so surprised to find these for such reasonable prices!  Just recently, they jacked prices way up...so much so it's appalling.  Things they would have priced at $5 before are now $15, and so on!

I do find cherub wall sconces pretty frequently, but all of those ones have had ugly sculpts and were unfinished ceramic.  They were also in pretty shabby condition, and most of them were at least $5+.

These ones are beautifully sculpted and way sturdier!  I also prefer the shiny finish of plastic, rather than the matte, chalky, feel of unfinished ceramics.

The angle's a bit weird, but I think these are the same ones...so they're $15 new.  These look like new though, so I'm happy with the savings!

I've never found anything like the gold shelf before.  It's actually made in Italy, but it's plastic!  It's probably from the 60's or 70's, and it just looks so nice.  I'm actually glad it is plastic, since that makes it so lightweight and easy to handle.

Kane Home - Ultra absorbent drying mat:  $3 for 3 @ Dollarama (RSP;  ~$13 each)

You can almost always tell when something's a closeout, since the quality is better than the stuff manufactured for their store.

When I saw these today, they were packaged three in a bag!  I thought it might be a mistake, but they were all like that...and all of them had a barcode attached to other bag, so they definitely meant to do that.

I'm glad I picked these up then, because all of the other ones I've seen had them priced at $3 EACH! The colour wasn't as nice either...the same design, but brown.  They had that colour when I bought these ones too, but it was an easy choice.

Pink Friday gift set:  $6 @ Walmart.ca (RSP:  $24)

I don't like this singer at all, but I do love this perfume bottle!  I happened to notice that it was in stock AND on clearance, so I had to snatch it up.

It smells like a generic celebrity perfume, but it's a lot stronger than the rest.  I don't like it much but it's alright.  It actually reminded me a lot of purr, but it's better than that one.

I actually saw this on clearance back in April, but it was sold out by the time I found out about it.  I was really surprised to see it back again!  I saw a few other things from that time pop up recently as well, so I wonder what's up.

Sunday, August 2, 2015

White banded crop top (RSP:  $19)
Blue banded crop top (RSP:  $19)

Plaid sleeveless top (RSP:  $17)
Neon pink banded crop top (RSP:  $19)

$1.25 each @ Sirens

They had a $5 of $10 coupon too!  These were on sale for $2.50 each, which is why it ended up being such an amazing deal.

I wasn't too fond of the hot pink top, but I needed something to round out my sale.  I don't know if I'll ever wear it..maybe if I go to some 80's night!

Pleats please 100 ml Eau de toilette:  $20 @ Winners (RSP:  $39.99 - $106)

Their regular price was reasonable enough, considering how much it usually costs!  I saw a bunch of these with a few dollars taken off, but I'm glad I waited.  I was really tempted when I saw a 50 ml one for $25, but I'm glad I waited.  That one was only $5 off anyway.

When I went in today, they only had one left...guess it was waiting for me!
