Senpo musical doll:  $5.99
Vintage Japanese ceramic pixie planter:  $3.99

Both @ Value Village

And both more than I wanted to pay!  I was seriously disgusted at the pricing I saw today.  Almost everything was TWICE the price they normally charge!  I've noticed this at every location I've visited lately, so it's pretty disturbing.

These were more like their old pricing, but they have been half that price at times.  I hope it doesn't get any higher than this!

I was unsure about the Bradley type doll.  I love how she looks, but this one was in really dirty condition!  And you can't really clean them...I've heard that they can disintegrate when you try!  Here's one in perfect condition:

This was musical,  but sadly mine doesn't work.  It's also missing the wind up mechanism.   I've seen people sell working ones for $50-$60, so $6 is an ok price for one in this condition.

Bradley type pose doll:  $5.99 @ Value Village

Two in two days!  What are the odds.  I've seen ten in a decade before this, so that's really strange.  I hope I start finding them more often now!

This one was great quality too, so I just couldn't pass it up.  She's on a wooden stand, and her outfit doesn't look cheap like most of them.  I just read that the best quality ones sold for $75 in the 70's, so she's probably one of those ones.

Plus, she even has a huge hoop skirt!  She herself is huge.  You really have to see her in person to appreciate her!  She's even better than the first one (the blue dress one) that I wanted.

She does have some stains on her face though.  I don't know what they are exactly, and they're pretty noticeable.

The bad thing about these dolls is that you really can't clean them...they might disintegrate!  That's a huge downside for someone who's kind of a germaphobe like me.

I will clean the clothes at least, but I don't want to risk ruining her beautiful face.

Bradley type pose doll:  $5 @ Richmond animal protection society thrift store

I've seen these type of dolls maybe 10 times in all of the years I've been thrifting.  They certainly have the qualities I like....big heads, big eyes, pleasant faces - but the ones I found before were kind of cheap and crappy.

They all had plastic bases and some didn't even have real legs!  Their faces were kind of off too.  I definitely don't regret not buying those ones.

About a month ago, I finally found one I was tempted by.  It was a blonde in a blue southern belle dress.  I would have bought her if she wasn't so expensive (I didn't think she was worth $6.99), plus she had no way to stand since her base was missing!  I wish I got a picture at least.

Anyway, when I saw this girl, I hesitated a bit.  First of all, she's huge (around 17 inches standing up)!  I have a ton of stuff and I really don't need any more collections.

But...she's just so cool!  I've also never seen any exactly like this (with that outfit and sitting beside a chair), so I thought she was worth it.  Some of the more unique ones go for over $100, which surprised me.

She just has so many beautiful details...like her earrings and all of the decorations in her hair.  Her hair is also surprisingly soft and silky for a doll this price.  This one was made in Japan and has a wooden stand, so she's way better quality than the others I've found before.

Well, that's it!  I'm officially going to buy any of the nice ones I find from now on...my max is $6, but hopefully they'll be way less than that.  I'd love to have a collection as nice as this one!
