Betsey Johnson eau de parfum set:  $22.99 @ London Drugs (RSP:  $45 - $60)

This set comes with a 30 ml EDP spray, a 75 ml body lotion, and a 75 ml shower gel.  London Drugs sometimes has great deals on gift sets, I wish I started paying attention before!  I still had a gift card so I decided to get this once I found out about it.

The regular price is $45 on their website, but oddly enough, they charge $60 just for the perfume in that size!  Where's the logic in that?

Anyway, I tested it when I got there.  It started off really fruity, so I thought I'd like it.  It wasn't at my local store so I didn't want to go there for nothing.  I figured I could return it if I didn't like it.

Well, I didn't like it!  It was only fruity for a few minutes, and then it turned into a horrible mess.  It was so brash and gross, but it finally dried down to something somewhat pleasant.

But that didn't last very long either, and it was quite faint at the end.  It was probably on me 3 hours max.

Plus...it smelled kind of cheap.  Not super cheap, but maybe celebrity perfume cheap.

I really wanted to like this, but I think it's going back.  It gave me a headache at times.  It is somewhat unique, but there are too many parts I don't like.  I'd smell my wrist and like it only half the time or so.

I returned the Katy Perry gift set as well.  I just hope the next one will be a winner!

In another news...I tried Black XS by Paco Rabanne and was pretty shocked.  It lasted THIRTY hours on me and even withstood a SHOWER!  No other perfume has done that before.

I wasn't in love with the smell, but it was a nice, standard smell.  It didn't smell cheap, but it wasn't distinguishable either.

I saw someone selling an unopened bottle for $20...I might buy it if it's still available.  I just couldn't believe the staying power!  It was still very strong near the end too.

Gold leopard skull duster clutches:  $10.56 each @ eBay (RSP:  $20+)
Long red snakeskin skull duster clutch:  $18.40 @ aliexpress (RSP:  $30+)
Marbled pink skull duster clutch:  $14.50 @ aliexpress (RSP:  $20+)

I'm happiest about the snakeskin one...the size is way bigger than I expected, and it's really nice quality.

I was unhappy about the marbled pink one though.  I was so excited to get it, but it's way darker in person!  It looks like a pretty light pink in the promos, but in real life it's a mid range purplish pink...definitely not as nice.

I already have the leopard ones, but since they were cheap auctions, I decided to get some to customize.  I already started colouring in one red!  I'm thinking of making a blue and pink one next.

I saw them in different colours on aliexpress and liked them, but they were all twice the price as the gold and silver ones.

I didn't see the point in paying that much, especially when I knew I could get them for cheap on ebay.

I wish I paid less for these ones, since I've seen them go as low as $6 recently!  Still not a bad price for them, but since I have so many coming in, I wish I bid a little lower.

Surprisingly, they're different from the ones I bought before!  These ones have a padded surface, the other ones were hard.

This one also has one skull oddly placed too far to the left, and the skull with the floral background is indistinguishable now.  The other one was definitely better quality, but nobody will notice except me!

White/gold skull duster clutch:  $14.98
Sky blue skull duster clutch:  $16.50

Both off Aliexpress

I wish I waited on the second one.  I found it for $14.50 about a week later!  I bought another one, and they came around the same time.

My picture is pretty bad, but here are the official photos:

They're exactly what I expected so I'm happy with these two.  I just wish I paid less for the second one.  I haven't found the first one for any cheaper so I'm satisfied for now!

Green satin bow corset:  $5.50 off eBay (RSP:  $14 - $20+)

I got this a while ago, but forgot to post about it.  I haven't been buying corsets since I have so many...but I happened upon this auction and decided to bid on it.  I don't have any like this, I like the cute peplum style at the bottom.

Skull duster clutch with flying skull emblem:  $25.02 @ Aliexpress

This one was more than I wanted to pay, but it's the lowest I've seen for this handle.  I didn't have one and I really wanted to have it.

It's a lot nicer than I thought.  It looked like it might be satin in the photos, but it's actually a shiny suede type material that has a lot of gold threads in it.  It feels great, but I still wish it were cheaper!  The seller actually raised the price after I bought it, so it's a good thing I bought it when I did.

I still might buy a silver one if I find a decent deal down the road.

Lace cobra handle clutches:  $19.38 each off Aliexpress

I only wanted one, but it was so much cheaper when you bought two!  I thought I would customize the second one, but now I wish I only got one.  I found one way cheaper later on, even though that was just a one time deal as well.

I still think this was a great deal though.  They're normally 30+ everywhere else.  The seller raised the price by $10 after I bought these!

Horse/skull duster clutch in khaki:  $27.59 @ Aliexpress

This is a dupe of my second favourite McQueen handle...sadly, unlike the dupe of their skull handle, this one is noticeably worse in quality.

Not to say that it's horrible....when you have no point of reference.  But when you look at the original...there's just no comparison!

I'm also annoyed I can't find this in gold.  Things would look so much better in gold!  I saw one and it looked wonderful, much more expensive looking.  Even the colour is perfect!

Unfortunately, that one was about $75 with shipping...which is just way more than I'd be willing to pay for this.

I just hope it becomes more widespread in the future.  I already paid more than I wanted to for this one!  It's the most I've paid for any of these knuckle clutches so far.

Pink studded skull clutch:  $18.79 off Aliexpress

I've wanted one of these for a long time!  They were just never cheap enough, until now.  I like how it's studded on both sides, which doesn't happen too often.  I thought the skull studs would be tacky, but I think they look neat in person.

I ordered one in beige for slightly cheaper, but the seller never came through.  I'm pretty annoyed about that, since I could have gotten it for the same price from this seller!

I still might get more if there are decent sales in the future.  I definitely want one in beige, and then maybe one in turquoise!

Anna Sui - Secret wish 75 ml EDT:  $5

That's funny...I actually paid the same price for a similar mini!  All I wanted was that bottle, the scent inside wasn't impressive.

It was the same case with this...I just wanted that bottle!  For $5, I thought it was a total steal, no matter how the actual perfume smelled.  The regular price was around $100, and there's at least half of it left!

One surprise...this one smells amazing!  Completely different from the other one, which was totally generic.  It actually smells a lot like Tattoo, which smells a lot like Light Blue.

The bottle is just as gorgeous as I expected!

Michel Germain - Sexual 75 ml EDP:  $19.99 (RSP:  $70)
Michel Germain - Tattoo 100 ml EDP:  $12.99 (RSP:  $70)

Worth - Shut out fpex leather baseball gloves:  $4 each (RSP:  $39.99 - $60+ each)

All @ Winners

Same as the last one.  I was so surprised to find those gloves!  I've been looking for a cheap one for the last 5 years...I thought I'd buy one for around $2 if I found one at a thrift store.  These are even better!  The quality is wonderful.

I was happy to get another chance at these Michel Germain perfumes.  Tattoo is amazing!  It smells just like light blue at first, and then it dries down really similarly to flowerbomb....I love it from start to finish!

I'm just so surprised a cheap perfume could smell that good.  Most of the ones that low at Winners are really cheap and gross smelling.

I actually passed it up before because I thought everything was so tacky...especially that bottle.  It just has a sticker on it with the name!

Thankfully I gave it another chance, since it's one of my favourites now.  I'll definitely pick up one or two more bottles if I see them again!  Even if I don't, this one will last a long time.

I kind of wish I didn't buy the other one.  Since I had good luck with his other fragrances, I thought I'd like them all.

Well, it's not bad.  It's high quality like the rest, but I'm just not crazy about it.  The scent is pretty generic, and I don't like how it opens.  It smells a bit older than his other ones.  Given the choice, I definitely wouldn't have bought it knowing what I know now!

But...at least the other one was a winner.  I really hope I come across it again!  Both of them are still on his official website for full price.

Aryn K. - Ruffled one shoulder silk accent top:  $1 (RSP:  $49.99 - $83.60)
Red snap - Lace poet shirt:  $3 (RSP:  $14.99 - $35)

Grace elements - Pink pencil skirt:  $2 (RSP:  $19.99 - $38)
Laundry by Shelli Segal - Floor length halter dress:  $9 (RSP:  $99.99 - $295)

All @ Winners

And then it continued!  This one was actually the worst one...everything was so expensive!  I even saw one of my $12 dresses still at $70!  I'm glad I managed to come away with these ones.

I actually saw the pink top in another colour at several of them, but I never really paid attention to it.  I thought it was huge, but now I see that was just part of the side ruffle!  I kind of wish I picked up the one in beige, but that one never went this low.\

The halter dress is the highlight.  I need to find a ribbon to complete it, but it's still a great deal.  Though, it definitely should have been cheaper considering that missing piece.

I've seen this brand around and have always wanted something from them.  Their styles are pretty common, but they're the kind of styles I like to wear!  They're really well made and gorgeous.

This one in particular has a corset inside!  I've never seen that before in this kind of dress.

BCBG Maxazria - Jasmine denim shorts:  $3 @ Winners (RSP:  $49.99 - $108)

Well, turns out that wasn't the end!  I was in the area, so I just had to go in...I'm glad I did!  There were literally 10 items left, but this was still there.

I love the brand, so I always snatch up whatever I find for cheap from it.  They had a ton of these this round, so I thought I could probably find one later on.

Cynthia Rowley - Blue tweed skirt with neon yellow belt:  $.70 (RSP:  $29.99 - $125+)
MM Couture by Miss me - Chiffon halter dress:  $5 (RSP:  $39.99 - $80)

Both @ Winners

I wasn't even planning on going to this one, but since I was in the area, I had nothing to lose.

There was practically nothing left, but I managed to find these gems!  I actually saw that dress when it was $15 and wanted it then, so I'm really happy it was still left.

The skirt is pretty interesting, especially paired with the neon dress.  It feels like it's made out of a rug!

The tag said it retailed for $50, but I just looked it up online...similar skirts are going for $125!  Didn't see that coming.  Some of her skirts are over $200!

So that's the end of this round...whew!  Finally done.

Nine west - Urban nomad dress:  $2 (RSP:  $39.99 - $210)
Max studio - White lace dress:  $5 (RSP:  $49.99 - $128+)

Ralph Lauren- Denim & Supply - Red Hawaiian print halter top:  $2 (RSP:  $24.99 - $54.50)
One clothing - Polka dot bustier dress:  $3 (RSP:  $24.99 - $50)

Diba - Car laa - Multicoloured lace cork wedges:  $3 (RSP:  $39.99 - $80)
Pour La Victoire - Leandra  - Tan pony hair lace up boots:  $3 (RSP:  $59.99 - $375)

All @ Winners

I'm so glad I went to this one.  It was late, and I wasn't expecting much..luckily there was some stuff waiting there for me.

I'm happiest about the boots!  I was really surprised to see them, since this is supposed to be summer clearance.  The heel has a small problem, but it'll be an easy fix.  I couldn't leave them behind for that price!

I've heard of the brand before, but never paid attention to their prices.  Winners said the regular price was $120, but I saw their actual pricing online and was floored.  Score!

London times - Satin floral peplum dress w/belt:  $5 (RSP:  $39.99 - $80)
Dex 1963 - Asymmetrical chiffon dress w/stud collar:  $5 (RSP:  $24.99 - $50+)

Coastal cocktails - Skinny apple martini mix in glass high heel bottle:  $1.10 (RSP:  $6.99 - $10)
Coastal cocktails - Cranberry cosmo mix in glass high heel bottle:  $1.10 (RSP:  $6.99 - $10)
Bond no. 9 - I love new york for all 100 ml eau de parfum:  $22 (RSP:  $149.99 - $265!)
Escada - Desire me 50 ml eau de parfum:  $12 (RSP:  $39.99 - $65)

All @ Winners

These were some of the highlights from this season!  I've never heard of London Times before, but now I have two of their dresses.

They're both satin florals, but I like this one a lot more...it's a peplum, which I love, and it even comes with a belt!  It was totally worth the $5.

The white dress took my breath away...it's so me!  It's longer than normal and has an asymmetrical hem, plus it has a studded collar.  Those are probably out of season now, but I'll still wear it!  The whole thing is just so goddessy.

The martini mixes were an afterthought.  I bought it because I loved the bottles and they ended up being super cheap.  I thought they had bath foam, but I would have bought it no matter what was in them for that price!

It was a jaw dropping moment when I found that bond perfume.  I couldn't believe my eyes!  I never thought I'd ever own this brand since it's normally so expensive (over $200 at a lot of places).

It was actually wrapped in something else, which might have been why it was still there for me.  I actually clutched it in my hand the entire time, I just didn't want it to get away from me!

This one actually had a lot of well known perfumes for cheap...I also found a Chloe perfume for $18 at the same time I found the Escada.  Thankfully it was already open, so I managed to smell it at the counter...and it was horrible!

The heavy scents that older people normally wear.  Thank goodness I left that one behind, it would have been non-refundable!

Jealous tomato - Blue asymmetrical floral chiffon dress:  $5 (RSP:  $39.99 - $80)
Cocolove - Blue asymmetrical chiffon dress:  $2 (RSP:  $24.99 - $50+)

Max and Cleo - Orange ruched one shoulder dress:  $3 (RSP:  $29.99 - $118)
Jessica Simpson - Green/grey reptile skin print dress:  $5 (RSP:  $59.99 - $128)

Kenneth Cole Reaction - Lace/lime green top:  $3 (RSP:  $29.99 - $79)
Suko jeans - Lilac jean shorts with crochet lace accents:  $3 (RSP:  $16.99 - $30)

All @ Winners

What a total surprise!  I found so much great stuff at this one.  I love the first two dresses especially.

I'm also really fond of those shorts.  I'm not really fond of coloured denim, but I think it works...especially with those lace accents!  What a beautiful added detail.

Studios W by Sue Wong - Beaded strapless chiffon dress:  $12 (RSP:  $129.99 - $240)
Monteau - Floor length high neck dress:  $8 (RSP:  $19.99 - $40+)

Moments by Linga Dore - Floral satin bustier:  $2 (RSP:  $19.99+)
Elizabeth Arden - Provocative Woman 50 ml EDP:  $16.99 (RSP:  $42.50)

Element Denim jeans:  $2 (RSP:  $19.99 - $65)
Parasuco jeans - Suzy:  $5 (RSP:  $34.99 - $110)
Ozmo - Pale salmon pink jeans:  $5 (RSP:  $29.99 - $50)

All @ Winners

The better parts of this haul!  My favourites are the dresses...they weren't exactly clearance pricing, but I liked them enough to buy them still.  The beaded dress was totally worth it, but the other one wasn't...it seems like a fair price to pay, considering it's just cotton jersey.

I totally need a dress like that - casual for every day wear, but still nice enough to look good.  I haven't found any at a price I wanted to pay, so this one was ok with me.

This one has a lot of nice design elements - I love the collar and the hem.  It's a bit asymmetrical and it has a nice flow to it, it isn't just a straight up and down dress.

I'm not sure about the perfume...I saw it at another winners and thought about it.  When I got home I read about the notes, and it sounded like something I'd like.

It had so many good reviews!  This one had the 30 ml and the 50 ml...I ended up getting the bigger one since it worked out to be a better deal.  I just hope I like it!

I'm kicking myself for passing up another perfume - tattoo by Michel Germain.  It was only $12.99, but I thought the bottle was so ugly, and I couldn't really smell it.

The reviews online ended up being great, and it's actually supposed to smell really similar to another perfume I want.  I totally wish I bought it now...that price was for 100 ml!

Max & Mia - Grey top:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99 - $30)
Cute options - Beaded rayon top:  $2 (RSP:  $29.99 - $60)

Haley Matthews - Blue chiffon button up blouse:  $3 (RSP:  $16.99 - $25+)
Cynthia Rowley - Floral chiffon top:  $2 (RSP:  $24.99 - $40)

Zac & Rachel - Neon yellow peplum top:  $2 (RSP:  $24.99 - $42)
Liquid - Hawaiian shorts:  $1 (RSP:  $12.99 - $45)

All @ Winners

I'm surprised I managed to find anything at all today!  These were the least exciting, and some of them might end up going back.  The first two were for my mom.

Ripe - Geometric print halter dress:  $3 @ Winners (RSP:  $24.99 - $40)

It was a pretty disappointing day!  I went to 3 of them and only came back with this.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Thursday, August 22, 2013

Ali & Kris - Aqua blue chiffon short dress:  $2 (RSP:  $19.99 - $40)
Monteau - White/black/blue chiffon top:  $3 (RSP:  $24.99 - $40)

Vince Camuto - "Warm orange" pants:  $5 (RSP:  $39.99 - $65)
Michel Germain - Sexual star perfume:  $13 (RSP:  $14.99 - $49)

All @ Winners

The same as the last one.  I was really happy when I found the short dress, I knew it was a keeper!  I'm not so sure about the others...I'll wait a while to decide.

The "warm orange" is actually more of a neon colour, and I hate neons!  I like the brand though, and I thought the fit would be great.

The perfume was an impulse buy.  It was only a few dollars off, but their regular price was surprisingly low.  Most of the ones that price there are really cheap and horrible smelling.

I smelled some of his perfumes at the Bay, so I knew that it would be a high quality perfume.  I didn't know the bottle would be so gorgeous though..it was breathtaking!  It reminds me of a dagger.  I might have bought it for that alone.

I smelled it before I bought it, and it seemed decent there...but of course you can't really tell how it is until you wear it.

I just tried it on, and thankfully, it works!  Not the best, and definitely not the highest quality, but at least it smells nice...and not cheap.

They had a bunch more of his, I might pick some up if the others go on sale.  The prices are really reasonable though...one was $20 for 75 ml!  This one was only 30 ml, so that other one is cheaper even at their regular price.

Tibi - Refined crepe v neck dress:  $12 (RSP:  $249.99 - $695!)
London times - Satin floral dress:  $12 (RSP:  $49.99 - $120)

Dalia Collection - "modern fit" mint skirt:  $2 (RSP:  $19.99 - $30)
Premise - Coral peplum skirt:  $3 (RSP:  $24.99 - $58)

All @ Winners

I couldn't believe the original retail price of that dress!  I knew it was different when I touched it, but I was not ready for that price tag.

I think part of the reason it was still there was because the name tag was missing...I did a search online and found out who made it.  Good thing too, the curiosity might have almost killed me!  I would have kept on wondering if the tag was an exaggeration, or just for the wrong item.

I thought the price had to be up there though, since it was lined in silk.

It's pretty plain, but it has a lot of nice elements.  The back hangs a little lower than the front, and I like that much shoulder coverage.

It's meant to be a casual dress, and I think it works.  It just needs a belt to bring it all together!

I liked the floral dress too, but it didn't seem as worth it as the other one.  I really didn't want to spend $12 on anything here, but I just really liked both of them.

The skirts were a great deal though.  I love the colour of the mint one and the design of the coral one.

Ark & Co - Orange/purple dress:  $3 (RSP:  $39.99 - $76)
Costume national - Scent Gloss eau de parfum:  $12 (RSP:  $39.99 - $75)

Kenneth Cole Reaction - White lace/lime green shorts:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99 - $59)
BDG - Red jeans with belt:  $2 (RSP:  $19.99 - $50)

All @ Winners

I was really surprised this had anything left.  It is a pretty high traffic area afterall!  I only stopped in because I was in the area.

I wasn't sure about the dress - I don't really like the colours, but I do like the design.  It is actually pretty fitted.  I'm sure I'll keep it, the price was a steal!

The perfume was an afterthought.  I've never heard of it, but since it retailed for pretty high at winners, I thought it would be better than normal.  It is made in France too.  I'll see if I can smell it somewhere before I open it, but that's pretty doubtful...this is the first time I've seen this brand anywhere!

The jeans were a great deal.  I'm not normally keen on interesting coloured pants, but I thought I might want to wear it sometime.  It even came with a belt, which was nice.

The shorts are a pretty neat colour.  A lime green, which I normally wouldn't like..but it looks fine with the white lace over top.  It's a pretty interesting combination.

Stella Tweed - Floral button up sleeveless chiffon  dress:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99 - $35)
American eagle outfitters - White/grey leopard print dress:  $3 (RSP:  $14.99 - $28)

One clothing - Mint green lace back long sleeve blouse:  $3 (RSP:  $19.99 - $35)
Chapter One - Brown pants:  $3 (RSP:  $39.99+)

All @ Winners

These were a bit more than I wanted to pay, but knowing this location, they weren't going to be there long!

The mint green blouse is my favourite.  I'm also fond of the floral dress, but I'm not sure about the print..it's pretty busy!  Leopard spots and roses, what an odd combination.

Union jack skull clutch:  $16.71 off aliexpress

I was pretty happy about this one.  This was way cheaper than it is anywhere else (the rest are $25 - $30), and it ended up looking even better in person.  The seller even raised the price by $5 after I ordered!

The gem is a little different than all of my other ones...it's a lot smaller.  I think the other ones look better.

Gold spiked knuckle clutch:  $19.43 off aliexpress

It's the top one...the bottom one is the mismatched one I got off ebay.  I knew the stud pattern was slightly different, but I thought it would be ok.

Big mistake!  It looks really crappy and amateurish, especially compared to the other one.  I regretted buying it right away...I wished I paid the $3 more to get a better one.

But since I was going to customize the bottom one anyway, I decided to see if I could switch the plates.  Well, I did, and it turned out great!

Surprisingly, one of the plates ended up being a little smaller...I didn't think that would happen!  There's a little gap on one side, but at least it's not that noticeable.

Given the option now, I definitely would have gone for the other one...it was a huge hassle take things apart, plus that one looked even better!  The center studs are bigger so the effect is even more dramatic.

My brother was going to an anime convention (Anime Revolution), and he mentioned that these voice actors were going to be there.  I got him to bring these just in case, but I really didn't think he could meet them...they were only there for half hour slots afterall.

To my surprise, he met them both!  I like both of these shows a lot, so it was really nice to get some of my favourite items signed.

I think I bought the doll for $25 or less...I can't remember the exact price.  I was actually trying to sell it before, but there's no way now!  The guy even put my name on it, which I really appreciated.  It was the voice actor of Tuxedo Mask, Toru Furuya.

I think I bought the inuyasha plush for around $15..it was definitely less than $20.  That one was signed by Kappei Yamaguchi, who also does the voice of Usopp!  I had a backup in case they were willing to sign two, but that didn't pan out.
