Licca doll
My Little Pony - Talking Princess Cadence

$1.99 each @ Value Village

Can't pass up a Licca, even though this one has terrible hair!  Strange, because it is one of the modern ones.  She would definitely be a candidate for a reroot, but I doubt I'll bother.

Surprised I found another cheap pony this soon!  This one talks and lights up just like the last one, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.  This is what she originally came with:

I can do without those bits.

Takara 2nd generation Lady Licca doll:  $2.99 @ Value Village

Hooray!  I love finding Licca dolls.  I actually didn't even notice that this one was taller, since the face was exactly the same as the other ones.

After I realized she was nearly the same size as Jenny, I thought she was probably a Jenny friend.  But I found out who she really was after looking her up online.  I think they should have changed her face if they wanted her to be more mature.

I bought this last Monday, the same day I went to Talize.  Too bad I didn't find anything at the other Value Village!

Thierry Mugler Couture pantsuit:  $5

Polly pocket car:  $1.99
Licca and Littlest pet shop dolls:  $1.99
Intricate cherub frame:  $2.99

All @ Value Village

Oh man, was this a good deal!  And to think, I almost stayed at home.  That would have been a mistake.

Thierry Mugler is one of my favourite designers, and it was always a dream of mine to find something of his.  I nearly jumped for joy when I saw this:

I found it minutes after entering the store!  So happy it was there for me.  I did find this blazer before, but since it wasn't really made by him (made in China, for cosmetic reps) it wasn't really the same.

Of course I'm always happy when I find LPS Blythes, so that was good too.  And Liccas, which are even rarer!  Someone had put her randomly in the collectibles section, so I'm glad I was sharp enough to spot her.

That frame is gorgeous too!  Normally they're not sculpted very well, nor are they as interesting as this one, so $3 was a steal.  I think I might spraypaint it gold, and it would look much nicer as a mirror rather than a frame.

Overall, such a great day!

Bag of toys:  $3.99 for all @ Talize

Well, there was way more than that, but it was nothing I wanted.  I only really wanted the Licca...I think she's early fourth generation!  I don't have any others in that style.

Her face is so sweet, but it's too bad her mouth looks smeared!  I think she might have had real makeup on her.

She looks better after a washing, but her mouth still looks a bit stained.  I wouldn't have wanted to pay that much for her alone, but with all of the neat furniture, it was a decent deal.

That throne is awesome!  It actually doubles as storage.  The seat lifts up, then there's a compartment below that.  It's a disney toy, but I can't find where it came from.

1986 Takara Licca car:  $2.99 @ Value Village

Boy was I surprised to see this!  I love Licca, so I just had to pick this up (my two above were thrifted too, of course!).  Otherwise...I wouldn't have given it a second thought.  It is pretty crappy quality.

All of the parts are molded plastic...and all one mold.  It's not realistic at all!  There aren't even any seats...it's just flat inside.  I'm surprised they bothered to include a steering wheel.  Of course, nothing opens either.

Even the tires suck!  Most cheap cars at least have decent looking tires.  These ones are just half tires, they're hollow on the other side!

This company charges more than mattel, so I'm sure this was around $30...but the quality just doesn't even compare.  Even Barbie's worst cars are better than this!

I couldn't find any info on it in english, but I saw it on this Japanese site.  Turns out it's from "Licca's Mcdonalds shop drive through playset":

Strange how they have a boy doll driving Licca's car.  That's just a sticker by the way.  Told you it was crappy quality!  It doesn't even have a windshield..

Besides it being Licca, I really only bought it for the novelty of having a car with the steering wheel on that side.  That's probably not going to happen again!

Also, the scale.  She is smaller than Barbie, and I don't really see cars this size.  I don't think it's really in scale to her though, which is bizarre.  The windshield should be head level!

The overall length seems ok though.  Cute for her size.

Well, despite all of its flaws, it still seemed like a decent deal for three bucks.  Even just for the novelty of it!

That's why I love thrifting...you just never know what you're going to find.

Bag of doll furniture:  $1.99
Novi Stars - Original Mae Tallik:  $1.99

All @ Value Village

Yep, still the same one!  I'm always on the lookout for interesting furniture, but it hardly ever turns up.  I was so happy to find this one today...it has a ton of neat stuff, and the price is just amazing for them!

Most of it is Bratz furniture, but it's neat.  I really like the chairs.  Normally VV prices these kind of lots at $5-$6, so I was surprised this one was so reasonably priced.

This fridge is a barbie one.  It even had stuff inside!

The scale is a little weird for everything.  It's bigger than 1:12, but smaller than 1:6.  Maybe it's 1:8?

I love Novi stars, and I do want the complete set.  I had a chance to buy this one new for around $10, but I thought that was too much.  She doesn't really come with much so it didn't seem worth it.  I was waiting to find her secondhand, and now it's happened!

She's missing her hair and antennae, plus her pet (which was so cute, I would have liked to have it) and her stand...she really didn't come with much!  I'm going to have to make her a wig since I don't like her like this.  Her original hair wasn't anything special though.

I didn't mention it in the other post, but these are the other dolls from the $3.99 bag.  I was so excited when I found that Licca!  I love those things, and they hardly ever come around.  Funnily enough, 3/4 of them were found at this exact same store.

I'm surprised they come around at all, since they're not really sold here (except in pricey niche stores).  I'm still kicking myself for passing up that $4 brunette in Vancouver.  I didn't like them as much then, and I thought it was too expensive for a doll with a chewed up foot.  She was gorgeous though, I still don't have any with that hair colour and she was vintage.

Also wanted the littlest pet shop Blythe...I love those things too!  I kind of wish I bought some new while they were still around, but they were just never cheap enough.  Turns out this one was from the target exclusive "get pretty boutique":

This one has really nice feeling hair, and it's sooo long...if I put it down, it goes way past her feet!  It looks better in the ponytail.

The original had such cute flats...I wish she came with them!  Some of the clothing wasn't bad, though I'm not too crazy about the dress she came with.

Bag of dolls - including Bare Top Ribbon Licca:  $3.99 (RSP:  $20+)
Playmate Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles - Napoleon Bonafrog figure:  $1.99
Takara Blythe - Asian Butterfly Encore (!):  $6.99 (RSP:  $120+)
Wind up tin knight on horse:  $3.99 (RSP:  ~$20)

All @ Value Village

I don't think I've ever had such a major toy haul!  It's always been one of my dreams to find a Blythe at a thrift store...now that's partially come true!

My eyes went wide when I saw her.  I couldn't snatch her up fast enough, and that price...completely unheard of!

My dream actually involves finding a vintage Blythe.  Those are worth a lot more, but that seemed a lot more likely...non collectors might have them, and not know what they're worth.

Whereas for these new ones...since they're so expensive, only collectors buy them!  I never thought someone would just give it away, knowing what they paid for it.  Oh well, lucky for me!

Funnily enough, I already have this girl!  I only have three...and there are probably over 100 types!  What are the chances that I'd get one of the ones I already have.

I actually want to sell the other one, but this one's a keeper forever!

The TMNT figure was an impulse buy.  I've never heard of that character, plus it's super ugly...but I have a fondness for that show.  The price was sure right!  It's neat to have mint on card figures from my childhood.

I would have preferred one of the turtles, but what can you do.  I checked online, and the going price is around $25 in this condition.

The knight was a total impulse buy...I wish it was cheaper, but I just thought it was so neat.  I love wind up tin toys and you hardly ever see them.

The movement doesn't last very long, and it is kind of weird.  The horse is kind of hobbled!  You can already tell by the way the legs are.  Still a neat toy nonetheless!

It's recent, they still sell them new online.  I've seen them sold for up to $20 plus shipping!

Sylvanian Families - StoryTellers - Talking bears:  $2.99
Briefcase like brown snakeskin purse:  $3
Takara Licca doll (yay!):  $1.99

All @ Value Village.

I was so happy about the Licca!  I love that doll.  I keep on hoping to find more, they're so darling!

I was really surprised about the sylvanian families bears.  They weren't even in the toy section!  At first, I didn't even know they were Sylvanians, I just thought they looked neat since I saw their eyes and mouths opened and closed.

Sadly, I can't get them to work!  I'm hoping the batteries were just low, so I'll try again after giving them a charge.  I found a video of them - they're so cute!

They retailed for around $30 each, but sadly, they have no resale value.  But I don't see why, they're adorable!  I hope I can get mine to work!

I bought the purse for the BOGO.  I think it's a neat design, plus it's in good condition.  Moreover, the price was reasonable, so I had to take it home!

Licca doll:  $1.99 @ Value Village (RSP:  $6+)
Stationery pack:  $1.99 @ Value Village

Funny how I found another one so soon.  I remember passing up a few Jenny dolls a while back, but I recently decided I would resume rescuing any like dolls I came across from now on.

The other one I bought just for the angel telephone book.  It's used and has a few pages missing, but I've never seen one like that before.  I'm just such a sucker for vintage angels...it's actually made of hard plastic so I took the plunge.

I probably wouldn't have splurged if it was just paper; it's got to have a certain 'quality' to it.  Funnily enough, it was from the same location I bought my last celestial themed stationery from.

Anyway, I plan to rip out the innards and put something new and fresh inside.  Hopefully it won't be too hard to find something similarly sized.

It came with a bunch of stickers I might keep, and a sealed notepad that just happened to be the first letter of my moniker.  I suppose it was worth it for those two items.
