Spider man motion lamp:  $5.99 @ Value Village

I thought this was super neat, but I'm not that crazy about spider man.  It took me a long time to decide...in the end, I thought it was too neat and well priced to leave behind.

It came out in 2001 but I don't know what the retail price was.  Probably around $25-$40.  The first marking is from 1994 so I guess it's been released at least twice.

Lava lite - Mini volcano lamp:  $5.99 @ London Drugs (RSP:  $17.99)

It was on sale for $10.99, plus my brother let me use her LD rewards.  It's fun but I'd rather have a glitter lamp!  They had a bunch listed in stock but none of them actually had them.

Salt lamp:  $14
Tsum Tsum lip smackers - Thumper and Dale:  $2 each (RSP:  $5.99 each)

All @ Bianca Amors

I loved my first lamp so much, I wanted one for another room!  I thought I'd get a bigger size, but they didn't look very nice.  Instead of getting taller, they mostly got wider!

I didn't like the look, plus they were a lot more.  The boxes for the next size up were all taped too, so I couldn't see how they looked in full.  No way I was buying one sight unseen!

Next to my first one (on the right):

The new one is at least a pound or two lighter than my old one, but it has more colour to it.

The base is different too!  It's bigger and more noticeable, whereas the other one was pretty much hidden at the bottom.

This one's better because the light attaches to the base.  With my first one, you just stuck the bulb in the hole...it wasn't secured in any way!

I was thinking about these tsum tsum lip glosses last time, but I didn't want to buy too many.  Well, the other ones were so adorable I wanted these ones too.

They had a ton last time, but this time I really had to dig to find these characters!  Thumper at least, there were still a lot of Dales.

I remember there being at least 10+ last time, and this time I only saw 3.  I only saw one Eeyore too!  Last time there were maybe 6. I'm glad I picked them up when I did!

I saw one box that had a $4.95 Rite Aid sticker on it.  Those stores are only in the US!  I'm surprised because I thought they mainly just had stuff from China instead of closeouts.

Medium salt lamp:  $14 @ Bianca Amors (RSP:  $30+)

I've wanted a salt lamp for a long time!  They've been advertising them here for the last few years...every time I've come they've been sold out.

Today they weren't!  I was surprised.  They had a ton of every size.  They all came in boxes like this:

It took me so long to pick one!  They're all different, and I didn't want to buy one sight unseen, so I looked into a bunch of boxes.  I found out later that they don't want you to do that, but they had no signs in this area.

It's so beautiful lit up!  I wonder if I should get one for another room.  I was deciding between this one and a small one, but for two dollars more, this one was a better deal.

The sizes here are bigger than most other stores.  When I was checking around, some other stores have their "large" as this one's "small"!   They're all mostly way more expensive too.  Usually starting at around $20 for the small one!

Before that the cheapest I've seen is a small one for $15 at Winners on clearance.  I was actually waiting to see if that one would go down, but now I'm glad someone else bought it.

I actually thought I might want a large or extra large, but this one was heavy enough!  Each size has a 2-4 pound variance.  I weighed mine at home, and it was exactly 12 pounds!  The medium was 8-12 pounds, whereas the large started at 14.

After the difficulty of looking at the mediums I didn't want to bother with any of the bigger sizes!  I really wish they had them without packaging like all of the other stores.  It would have been so much more convenient!

Crystal globe lamp:  $3 (!) @ Winners (RSP: $ 34.99 - $39.99+)

The same one I got the mirrored dresser from.  I almost didn't buy it, but I'm glad I did.  The light bulb socket was loose so I thought it didn't work....I'm sure everyone else felt the same, which is why it went so low.

Surprisingly, it does work!  I really only bought it to steal the lamp shade and topper though.  I finally finished my old lamp and I'm so pleased:

I'll keep the other one too, but now it needs a lampshade!

Lumisource - Elephant plasma lamp:  $7 off Craigslist

This was new in box too!  I thought it would be from the 80's or 90's, but it turns out it was made in 2006.

That surprised me...I've never seen these kind of lamps anywhere!  I had to go a bit out of my way to get it, but it was worth it for how neat it is.

The company has some other cool lightning lamps, like this Buddha:

This brain:

This torso is quite nice too:

They seem to retail for around $30 each, so I got an alright deal!

Emporio Armani blazer:  $5

Metal Grecian woman lamp:  $10

Both @ Value Village

I haven't gone in a while, and I almost didn't go today.  I'm glad I did!  I almost always find something great when I go out.

I'm always happy to find Armani in my size.  Surprisingly, it happens pretty frequently!  I might have a closet full some day soon.

Funnily enough, it's exactly the same as the last one I bought, except this one has 2 buttons instead of 3.

I don't always check the lamp section (because it's out of the way), but I'm glad I remembered to this time.  I was surprised it was so reasonably priced!

Her face isn't very pretty, so I almost left her behind just because of that.  But overall, I love how it looks...and I don't know when or if I'd find another one, so I decided to just get it.

I'm not going to use it as a lamp though.  I'm going to use it to hold my jewelry!  I just need to find a place to put it.

Now I'm really wishing I bought at least one of these lamps way, way, back..there were two there!

It would have made a beautiful stand!  It was even cheaper than the one I got today, and certainly better.  Hopefully it'll pop up again!

Brass gold cherub lamp:  $7.99 @ Value Village (RSP:  $40 - $200+)

I never thought I'd find something like this for so cheap, especially at Value village of all places!

I've only seen something like this once at the Salvation Army..and they wanted $20-$30 for theirs.  Plus, they weren't that nice so I didn't buy them.

Well,  this one was gorgeous, and the price was a steal!  I don't really have room for lamps, which sis one of the reasons I wasn't very tempted before...but this one was a must have.

The marble base was made in Italy!  And everything still works, I tested it before I bought it.

I was really in awe of the quality.  You rarely see stuff like that today, not in any mass produced stores anyway.

I noticed that one of the four hanging posts was broken off when I got home, but I would have bought it anyway.

Now I just have to figure something out for the lampshade!

There were two other lamps I was considering, that were obviously made by the same company and had the same owner.

They were the same one...this one:

It was nice, but not as intricate as the one I bought.  Plus, I didn't think the sculpting was as nice.  They were the same price:

If they're still there tomorrow though, I might end up buying them anyway!

I just didn't want to push my luck.  I initially noticed two of the lamps in a basket near the checkout counter.  I asked the cashier if they were someone's and she said she didn't know.

She said she was going to just put them back, so I ended up testing both of them, and buying the bigger one.

When I was at the front near the entrace, I saw the other lamp!  It was in a basket too.  I really didn't want to feel like I was taking someone else's stuff, even though they all looked pretty abandoned (behind and in front of the check out).

Ugh, looking at that picture, I kind of wish I bought them!  I hope they're still there tomorrow!

Even if they're not as nice, and they all need lamp shades, there's no way I could get them cheaper elsewhere.  I've seen similar lamps sell for $40-$200!  Shipping alone would be more than what I paid!

I found this auction that's basically the lamp I have, except in different colours.  That would work out to around $100 each.  They're in better condition than mine though, mine is missing one of the handles and has no beadwork...but I doubt that would count for the $90 difference!

This is one of the ones from the Salvation army:

I'm really glad I didn't get the first one.  It was a cheap quality repro.  It had nothing on the real thing!  Even the less intricate one above is a million times better than this one...

The second ones were good, but the price was too much.  I think the one I got was a lot nicer anyway!
Lesson learned:  will always check the lamp section from now on!  Maybe there were even more of them!

Horse drawn carriage clock/phone/lamp:  free!

I went to a bunch of small thrift stores on a whim today - I'm glad I did!

All of them ended up being disappointing and overpriced, but this one was decent.

And odd.  Things ranged from extremely cheap to a total rip off.  I mean, I saw a real leather purse there for $3!

The guy wanted $20 for the above, which was way more than I wanted to pay for a used plastic clock.  Someone got a better one for only $5

Still, I probably would would have paid around $12 for it.  It's just so campy and neat!

I saw the guy shouting at someone earlier on so I was initially too scared to talk to him.

But the clock kept on calling to me and I mustered up my courage.  It just happened to not have a price tag...

I asked him if it was working and he said he'd test it, but if it worked it would definitely be $20.

Then he noticed that the horse had broken off, and he got fed up with trying to get all of the random parts...he finally said:

"You can have it for free!  I'll just leave it right here and consider it garbage."

I was so happy!  I just hope it does work.

As neat as it looks, it takes up way too much space if it's just a decoration.
