The Body Shop - Strawberry and honey beauty bags (RSP:  $15 each)

New Year's freebies from my favourite mall!  I actually didn't notice they were giving them away until I clicked on the link.  I'm glad I did!

They sent the e-mail at an odd time, and I saw it about an hour and a half later.  They only had 40, so I wasn't sure if they'd still be there by the time I came.

I got the strawberry one and my brother got the other one.  They each have a 60 ml shower gel, a 50 ml body butter, a 30 ml hand cream, and a body poof.

It turns out that they're even more expensive separately!  The gel retails for $5, the body butter retails for $6, and the hand cream is $10!  That's already $21, not including the cost of the pouch and the puff.  What a great freebie!

Rainforest shine shampoo:  free (RSP:  $5)
Tea tree cleanser:  $3 (RSP:  $6)

Both @ The body shop.

I was actually supposed to get an item completely for free, but the salesperson told me I needed to buy something.  I was interested in the cleanser, so I decided to get that.  I asked again online, and they confirmed that I didn't need to buy anything, so that's pretty annoying.

The hair ties were from Victoria's Secret's "summer party."  You were supposed to spin a wheel to get a prize, but this was the worst prize!  I can't believe they said it was worth $9.50...it's seriously just two tiny elasticized ribbons.

You had a one in two chance of winning these.  I wish I got one of the other prizes instead...they were all better than this one!  The best one was a pair of shorts that retailed for almost $40.

The rest of the things retailed for around $12 (a pair of underwear, a makeup bag, and lipgloss) but they were all better than this.  Oh well, hopefully I'll have better luck next time!

The silliest thing is, I had to answer a math question to get it!  Normally they don't enforce that rule.  You also had to do two tasks to even get a chance to perform a wheel.  They sure made you work for this promo!

Light up pitchfork:  $1 @ EFADS
Silver masquerade mask:  $2 @ Dollar Park
Animal shaped soap:  free @ The Body Shop

Last minute Halloween shopping for something that turned out to be a bust.

I'm a sucker for things that light up, so I bought the pitchfork on a whim.  It came with batteries, but they turned out to be dead.  I probably won't ever take it outside, but it amused me.

The mask I bought for a last minute costume.  The feathers used to be in the middle of the mask, but that looked stupid.

The base is surprisingly decent quality for the price.  I thought I might go back for the gold one, but they had them all packed away the next time I went.

The Body Shop was giving away soap on Halloween.  It was advertised in the front window, but you had to go ask for it.

I got a bear and a rhino, my brother got a turtle and elephant.  Saw a dolphin in the mix but didn't like the color.

I also ended up getting a sample of one of their creams.  I saw they had a lot of sulphate free shampoos, so I'll probably try one the next time I need shampoo.

I haven't been to that store in decades.  Everything smelled sooo good, and I like how they keep things as natural as possible.  Prices are pretty decent too, so I'll have to go back during a worthwhile sale.
