My little pony - Rainbow dash RC plane:  $5.99 @ Value Village (RSP:  $24.99+)

It was a semi-half price day, and on things I probably wasn't going to buy.  But I just can't resist the allure of thrift stores!

I really came back to pick up those lamps I wanted last time, but sadly, they were both gone.  Darn!  Next time I see something like that (and for that price) I won't hesitate.

I really hesitated on this though.  I used to be big into MLP, but now I have so much stuff I need to get rid of!  It seemed dumb to add one more thing to the pile.

Except...this is radio controlled!  I don't have anything that's radio controlled.  Plus, it makes a lot of cute noises, even ones that are supposed to be coming from the pony (a lot of 'wheeee!' noises).

I figured it retailed for way  more, so in the end I decided it was worth it.

Turns out MLP uses this RC gimmick a lot...there are two on shelves right now!  At $25 and $30 respectively, so I don't know which one this retailed at.

It probably cost even more than that, since this one has the awesome sound affects and the other ones don't.

It came out in 2010.  I don't have any G3's in this style...I really don't like these or G4's.  They just look way too juvenile and cartoony for me.

I didn't even take the plastic off its hair, I might sell the pony and put my preferred G1 babies in there instead.

The annoying thing is, the control came with batteries, but the plane didn't!

Also, it is kind of dumb to have a plane that can't fly.  Oh well, it's pretty cute overall!

I thought the grey one would be a lot better than the other one due to the difference in pricing, but they're about the same warmth!

I'd rather spend half the price and get the one on the right.  Oh well, $9 was still an ok price for the first one.

Mine was actually the lowest it's ever gone!  On auction it's gone as high as $27.

Also, I finally studded that plain turquoise leather clutch I got a while back:

I love it now!  I knew it had potential, even though it was really boring when I got it.  The colour was fantastic though, and it was such nice quality leather. 

It had a lot of scuffs though, which is why I didn't mind covering them up with all of these studs. 

It took a few hours, because the backs are hollow, which made it hard to glue on.

Total price:  $2.99!  Just the price of the clutch, since I took the studs from an old shirt.

I have a ton of studs coming in the mail!  They have filled in backs so they're going to be a lot easier to work with.

I have at least 4 more purses I want to do.  I'm so excited!  I hope they come soon!

Brass gold cherub lamp:  $7.99 @ Value Village (RSP:  $40 - $200+)

I never thought I'd find something like this for so cheap, especially at Value village of all places!

I've only seen something like this once at the Salvation Army..and they wanted $20-$30 for theirs.  Plus, they weren't that nice so I didn't buy them.

Well,  this one was gorgeous, and the price was a steal!  I don't really have room for lamps, which sis one of the reasons I wasn't very tempted before...but this one was a must have.

 The marble base was made in Italy!  And everything still works, I tested it before I bought it.

I was really in awe of the quality.  You rarely see stuff like that today, not in any mass produced stores anyway.

I noticed that one of the four hanging posts was broken off when I got home, but I would have bought it anyway.

Now I just have to figure something out for the lampshade!

There were two other lamps I was considering, that were obviously made by the same company and had the same owner.

They were the same one...this one:

It was nice, but not as intricate as the one I bought.  Plus, I didn't think the sculpting was as nice.  They were the same price:

If they're still there tomorrow though, I might end up buying them anyway!

I just didn't want to push my luck.  I initially noticed two of the lamps in a basket near the checkout counter.  I asked the cashier if they were someone's and she said she didn't know.  

She said she was going to just put them back, so I ended up testing both of them, and buying the bigger one.

When I was at the front near the entrace, I saw the other lamp!  It was in a basket too.  I really didn't want to feel like I was taking someone else's stuff, even though they all looked pretty abandoned (behind and in front of the check out).

Ugh, looking at that picture, I kind of wish I bought them!  I hope they're still there tomorrow!

Even if they're not as nice, and they all need lamp shades, there's no way I could get them cheaper elsewhere.  I've seen similar lamps sell for $40-$200!  Shipping alone would be more than what I paid!

I found this auction that's basically the lamp I have, except in different colours.  That would work out to around $100 each.  They're in better condition than mine though, mine is missing one of the handles and has no beadwork...but I doubt that would count for the $90 difference!

I'm really glad I didn't get the first one.  It was a cheap quality repro.  It had nothing on the real thing!  Even the less intricate one above is a million times better than this one...

The second ones were good, but the price was too much.  I think the one I got was a lot nicer anyway!

Lesson learned:  will always check the lamp section from now on!  Maybe there were even more of them!

Colette by Wolfgang Kaiser - Khaki ankle length wool coat:  $7.50 @ MCC Thrift shop

I was undecided on this one.  It's great quality, and I really love all of the paneled detailing.

Even though it's wool, it's not particularly warm.  It also kind of reminded me of this coat I already have, which is wayyy warmer and was way cheaper!

I ended up buying it anyway because of the length..and it really is such nice quality!

I'm planning on spiking the shoulders, which I wouldn't do for my other coat.  But this one seems primed for it!

There were some gross stains on the inside, and I considered haggling...but I decided not to since it was a real thrift store.  You know, the one here all proceeds actually go to charity.

Plus, it was already half off!  But it really would have been better priced at $5.

I would prefer if it were nipped in the waist, rather than having to use the belt.  I might bring it in a bit later on.

Farouche by Lori Weidner - Red blazer with gold buckles:  $7.99 @ Value Village.

I hate paying full price!  I was here because I was in the area, I just can't help myself.  I always check the blazer section just in case there's something interesting.

Well, this fit the bill!  It's gorgeous on.  No shoulder pads or anything!

I don't think it would have been around on half price day, so I'm glad I found it.  I love the cascading lapels and how fitted it is.

Whenever I see something by Lori Weidner I take notice.  So far, all of her designs have been awesome!

I just learned that she's a designer at Joseph Ribkoff now...another brand I watch out for, no surprise there!

Monster High - Sweet 1600 Clawdeen - $25 free @ Wal mart (RSP:  $36.99)

Finally!  I've wanted her for so long.  I love Clawdeeens, and I hardly have any of them...and this outfit is killer!

It went down to $25 a while ago, but I really didn't think that was a deal, considering it retailed for $20 in the states!  I was hoping it might go down some more or I would get lucky in a lot.

Well, when I was washing some dolls from the last lot I bought - with only soap and water mind you - I noticed that some of my dolls' makeup washed off!

That totally surprised and horrified me.  I customize dolls..it normally takes a lot of effort when I actually WANT the paint to come off.   I thought that was totally ridiculous so I decided to complain.

Well, they ended up giving me a $22 voucher for my trouble.  Hooray!

Since I wanted this girl forever, I decided to just splurge.  The balance was $6 after the voucher, but I paid it off with my gift cards from Tellwut.

Like, that black belt - I'm totally in love with it!  I would have paid up to $5 for it alone.

The other belts were ok, I just bought them to get the deal.  They're interesting enough and I will use them, but I wouldn't have bought them if I didn't have to.

I do think the silver knot belts are pretty neat though.  And the turquoise\blue one was a neat colour combo.

The red one looks the cheapest of all I think...trying way too hard to look like real leather, it just looks off.

Well anyway, it was all for the black one!  I've been looking for something like that for a long time, and I'm sure I would have had to pay at least $10 to get one off ebay...so all in all, I'm one happy camper!
